i bet you my left kidney they’ll release an abundance character that converts overheals into max hp increase. what ive kinda noticed is that hoyo will release a few characters with a niche that doesn’t really become their main selling point because it sucks (ex. xueyi’s break isn’t the main source, sampo’s dot sucks) then they’ll release a character that fixes that (for xueyi, harmony mc and for sampo, kafka.) seeing as how lynx can increase max hp, i bet you they’ll have a character that converts overheals into max hp. maybe even a taunt value increaser, but i’m not as sure for that.
i like to look at what theyre putting as sim uni blessings to see if they can be turned into potential character mechanics, the one ive always gravitated towards was the healing dot blessing, thats such a shoehorn for a dedicated dot healer that i dont know why they havent made it yet. a potential dot harmony that enables that funny dot crit equation would also be hilarious and a cool way to bring dot back to the forefront even further.
Lynx also increases taunts :))) she’s pretty much DESIGNED around Blade, which is unfortunate since Blade is uh… the poor guy can’t really be fully brought back, he needs some outright kit buffs compared to getting newer characters to support him.

That is the direction the game is going. Its always on to the next thing, leaving the old stuff behind. Its literally teamcomp powercreep.
The situation with HMC and making break dmg really good has only confirmed to me that the playerbase is really at the whims of Hoyoverse when it comes to dealing with high-end content and the gacha in HSR, and why I think you would just have so much more fun just playing with who you want. The HSR team clearly has no qualms flipping the post game environment on its head when they introduced HMC into the game. This can be a good thing for various reasons, but because HSR is a gacha game where you have finite means to get new units and weapons (unless people fall prey to the predatory tactics of gachas and pay a ridiculous amount of money to get any unit and weapons they want) and it takes a long time to build units, this can easily turn into a bit of a pain. On the other hand. As a lover of 4 star units, HMC has made a number of the 4 star units more fun to play with now. So, silver linings and all that.
as i commented somewhere, vertical investment and in turn, diversity seems to reward well in hsr. Kafka already stood strong on her own with the unique dot trigger mechanic, and to me, she’s still a very solid and future proof character (unless there’s another better, more “unique” dot trigerrer released, who knows, rappa’s already having built in SuperBreak) She has a every turn follow-up She applies debuffs She can be played as a ult units, wearing energy regen rope in PF She can be a crit, attack, a hybrid unit very flexible Like any units w more than 1 team archetype tied to them in order to shine is guaranteed to live long despite the ever changing metas
I was watching videos about how healers got overshadowed by Shielders in H:SR and remembered the same problem happened in Genshin. Their solution to it started not as good, with Rifthounds that drain HP and enemies that get buffs if you use a shield near them, but then, Furina came. Furina transforms your healers, and HP Decaying units into buffers for the whole team by using HP oscillation as a gauge. I think a H:SR version of Furina would work wonders in making Bailu, Natasha, Luocha, etc... become Harmony-like buffers characters, while also benefiting HP Consuming-characters like Blade with a really great, versatile buffer, just like how Furina made C6 Noelle a meta character, buffed Jean and even allowed a new archetype to exist for healers, since she prefers team-wide, instant heals, the same type of heal Bailu offers in Star Rail. Then, they made the Bond of Life-using DPS characters such as Arlecchino and Clorinde. H:SR already have enemies that apply a Bond of Life-like debuff, so imagine if you had something like that too, requiring you to use a healer to heal that "bond" and turn into buffs. Maybe the bond could even be some sort of shield, so it's still sustaining you, and you can turn the sustain which is just a passive protection into an active buff, by using a heal. They also introduced other HP/Heal shenanigans in artifacts such as Kokomi's Clam set that turns overheals into a bubble that pops, dealing physical DMG, since she healed way too much( and she's technically a Sub-DPS healer/Hydro Driver, your best heal comes with her dealing DMG during Burst), which could turn healers into sub-DPS characaters, Chevreuse's Song of Days Past set that records any healing for 6s, includes Overheals, and turn it into DMG Buff for the active character, and Marechausse Hunter which makes any character viable with Furina, converting any HP oscillation( Which Furina will force upon the team) into Crit Rate. These sets, with an H:SR relic equivalent using turns instead of seconds, could make healers into buffers, into sub-DPSes and maybe even into "Tanks". Any of these sets could make a character that only heals and doesn't cleanse like Bailu into something else besides a healer, which uses her heals for something other than recovering HP. This is just a way to turn healers and make the whole Abundance Path more interesting, like Nihility's. I believe the game has lots of potential to recover weak units, maybe even while still selling lots of 5* characters, but we need our Kafkas and or Furinas for that.
At this point I don't even care if they go the 4 star support route where once they are c6 that makes the dps strong like Cheveruse Faruzan and Gorou in Genshin. Cheveruse revived the overload reaction Faruzan has Anemo on her back Gorou for if people build the team makes Mono Geo runnable unironically. Thats only a few as well. Even though Physical is not really in a good spot right now C6 Mika with Eula is very good. They don't HAVE to be the same way but at least do that for EVERYONE.
0:12 Trailblazer was actually the best. You could combo insane amounts of points for late game by saving up a bunch of the massive bombs right at the start. As always tierlist are completely wrong, even in something like mini games lmao
Interestingly, hsr has taken the opposite direction to genshin in terms of buffers/debuffers. It seems that in most cases for hsr, in a hypercarry comp, 2 harmonies is better than 1harmony, 1nihility. There seems to be a VERY high floor for diminishing returns that’s pretty difficult to reach. In genshin, having too many buffers hits diminishing returns very quickly, going so far as to having furina on a team meaning in some rare cases, having a dmg% goblet on your hypercarry actually ends up in less damage than an em/atk/def/hp goblet. So the better hypercarry teams tend to have 1buffer 1debuffer, e.g. bennett and kazuha. Some characters can do both (chevreuse does both at c6 i believe) though it’s rare. The main cause is a lot of enemies in hsr don’t have very high element resistances whilst genshin’s do. So there’s not a higher incentive to deplete defence or elemental resistance like there is in genshin. It’s also interesting that they haven’t really gone the route of element dedicated supports in hsr. A 5* unit that boosted solely x elemental damage would probably sell fairly well.
I have some ideas: - 5th slot for battle summon/pet that have their own kit related to old chars - Summon, HP scaling, Extra Action Harmony for Jingyuan, Blade, Jingliu, and Seele - A mechanic where if characters have similar path/element in your team, it will allow Combo DMG/Effects (similar if you match your element to your enemy, allowing Break DMG/Effects, but this time you match your element/path with your allies)
i still feel weird when people talk meta gaming on hoyoverse games. they are infamous to be easy which is true on all accounts. if i talk about difficulty levels between hoyoverse games . it is as follows. zzz -> genshin -> hi3rd -> hsr. hsr as the easiest. hsr is easy coz elemental advantage, stats and lastly the gimmick on the end game contents. it will feel like new characters is needed but reality is .. its not.. as long as you understand elemental advantage and the gimmick.. you are fine using the free characters. i only have 2 characters that is staple on all my teams. silverwolf and robin. the other 2 is flex . i can clear all content with any 2 characters i add which is dependent on the gimmick. good supports is needed the rest is flex. i choose silverwolf coz i want an easier life in elements. but i have to say feixiao not needing elemental advantage is cheating . 💀
Sadly, it's all good but viability isn't the only thing one have to consider. The universality is. Harmony MC is good, yeah, but how many buit characters you have to have to fill all elements? On the other hand, there's "devs said I can ignore elements" Firefly. I'm not playing superbreak because I don't like and didn't pull for Firefly, and outside of Firefly teams, superbreak is just too big of a headache. FUA is another thing, for example. If you've hoarded every possible FUA character, then yes, you can be happy with how good FUAs are now. But I skipped Topaz (mainly because she's from the IPC and I personally disike her for certain actions I think made her a woman I can't trust in the story but sill) and now her every rerun is at the most "costly" point of the game. HoYo's politics about old characters is crazy, you either getting their E0-E2S1 on the release or you can't afford them even if you buy jade subscription and Battle Pass. Well at least I can't (even after skipping Robin, Boothill, Firefly, failing 50/50 and then getting Jiaoqiu on 16th pull and having around 300 pulls, I can't afford the upcoming banner lol. It's too much to grab). All these talks about "how X can be impoved" are... well, we should speak about "how to make HoYo make characters more accessible" first. But gacha's gonna be gacha. So just play the game for the story, gacha is a scam and the "balance" after Firefly incident doesn't exist. And the other problem is, units are getting old, and the older the unit, the less chances are they'll get a big buff, there's a higher chance that HoYo just release their stronger replacement.
As a nihility main, harmony are simply weaker. The reason they are meta bcs they buff multiple stats at once. Whilst nihility at most debuff 2 stats of enemy since giving them too much would be broken imo. And almost all nihility are sub dps too by design, just something to add there. Nice video though ✌️
they dont really want to make Old units stronger. They rather want you to pull new more powerful units. Thats why powercreep exists. Old units are meant to be phased out over time. Every unit is basically a product of its time.
the real solution is just be Jing Yuan and be buffed every week.
I'm not Jingyuan main . Isn't General got buffed almost every patch ? New limited support character to get from Gacha , new relics set to farm & endgame buff ?

@@pally3370 Its not likely that a 1.2 unit will be best in slot for a 5.X meta.
Mihoyo will sell you a complete team comp for that meta that are 10 times stronger.
Blade is dead. He is a too early unit to be relevant again in a future meta.
Basically, Kafka made DoT not so oT. Still waiting for a summon advance for Jing Yuan and a proper support for Blade.
i bet you my left kidney they’ll release an abundance character that converts overheals into max hp increase. what ive kinda noticed is that hoyo will release a few characters with a niche that doesn’t really become their main selling point because it sucks (ex. xueyi’s break isn’t the main source, sampo’s dot sucks) then they’ll release a character that fixes that (for xueyi, harmony mc and for sampo, kafka.) seeing as how lynx can increase max hp, i bet you they’ll have a character that converts overheals into max hp. maybe even a taunt value increaser, but i’m not as sure for that.
i like to look at what theyre putting as sim uni blessings to see if they can be turned into potential character mechanics, the one ive always gravitated towards was the healing dot blessing, thats such a shoehorn for a dedicated dot healer that i dont know why they havent made it yet. a potential dot harmony that enables that funny dot crit equation would also be hilarious and a cool way to bring dot back to the forefront even further.
Lynx also increases taunts :))) she’s pretty much DESIGNED around Blade, which is unfortunate since Blade is uh… the poor guy can’t really be fully brought back, he needs some outright kit buffs compared to getting newer characters to support him.
I get what you're saying, but doesn't Bailu already do that?
It is noticeable that 4 star DoT characters can trigger their own types of DoT(Sampo requires e4), but NEVER all types of DoT like kafka does
I think the only thing DoT needs is a true DoT support.
Somebody who gives any kind of mixture of SPD/ATK/DMG but with their own DoT and a DoT vunerability debuff like Sampo alongside it.
It will probably never come. They gave us Jiaqiu e2 as a BIS dot support. Book is pretty much closed for Acheron and the Dot team now.
@@dante19890Theres still no dedicated DoT sustain and support. Jiaqiu E2 is NOT a dedicated DoT support, he is just a unit who functions well with DoT.
@@sawe6051 because they made the e2 like that is an indication that there never will be a dot sustain.
They were like " u want a dot sustain ? Then u have to vertically invest"
We soon gonna move away from FUA and break to the next meta. There really isn't an incentive to make an old playstyle more relevant since they wanna phase out the old stuff for the new.
@@dante19890 That definetely does not sound like what Hoyo would ever do.
Jing kept getting buffed every patch, Sparkle was released to help DHIL and Black Swan made kafka rise back into the meta. While Hoyo does impliment new team archetypes, they dont forget about the old ones.
@@sawe6051 no this is exactly the direction we are seeing.
Sparkle was the last character to wrap up the standard hypercarry teamcomps. No more of that.
Dot is wrapped up with e2 jiaqiu. No more of that.
FUA team is pretty much wrapped up with Feixiou
Soon break will also be done with , last units will be Linghsa, Rappa (pf unit) and potentially a 5 star superbreak harmony unit that replaces MC when he will switch path again in time for the summon meta.
That is the direction the game is going.
Its always on to the next thing, leaving the old stuff behind. Its literally teamcomp powercreep.
Sparkle for DHIL
Kafka already stood strong on her own with the unique dot trigger mechanic, and to me, she’s still a very solid and future proof character (unless there’s another better, more “unique” dot trigerrer released, who knows, rappa’s already having built in SuperBreak)
She has a every turn follow-up
She applies debuffs
She can be played as a ult units, wearing energy regen rope in PF
She can be a crit, attack, a hybrid unit
very flexible
Like any units w more than 1 team archetype tied to them in order to shine is guaranteed to live long despite the ever changing metas
Solution is to make an upgrade system for older units that give 1-2 new passives.
Like DB Dokkans EZA or Legends' Zenkak
Thank you gacha man, very cool
At this point I don't even care if they go the 4 star support route where once they are c6 that makes the dps strong like Cheveruse Faruzan and Gorou in Genshin.
Cheveruse revived the overload reaction
Faruzan has Anemo on her back
Gorou for if people build the team makes Mono Geo runnable unironically.
3:00 i think emenators of the path will just do that in gameplay
Makes sense since herta, an emanator of erudition, incentivizes you to play other erudition characters with her
@@AkaRedRedRedyes, but we don't have emantor form herta in game, hell we never saw normal herta only her dolls
I have some ideas:
- 5th slot for battle summon/pet that have their own kit related to old chars
- Summon, HP scaling, Extra Action Harmony for Jingyuan, Blade, Jingliu, and Seele
- A mechanic where if characters have similar path/element in your team, it will allow Combo DMG/Effects (similar if you match your element to your enemy, allowing Break DMG/Effects, but this time you match your element/path with your allies)
surely we will get a unit that makes summons meta
Señor get Argenti out that thumbnail 💔💔
idk why hes there i just took a screencap
W vid keep cooking my man
i still feel weird when people talk meta gaming on hoyoverse games. they are infamous to be easy which is true on all accounts. if i talk about difficulty levels between hoyoverse games . it is as follows.
zzz -> genshin -> hi3rd -> hsr. hsr as the easiest. hsr is easy coz elemental advantage, stats and lastly the gimmick on the end game contents. it will feel like new characters is needed but reality is .. its not.. as long as you understand elemental advantage and the gimmick.. you are fine using the free characters.
i only have 2 characters that is staple on all my teams. silverwolf and robin. the other 2 is flex . i can clear all content with any 2 characters i add which is dependent on the gimmick. good supports is needed the rest is flex. i choose silverwolf coz i want an easier life in elements.
but i have to say feixiao not needing elemental advantage is cheating .
And the other problem is, units are getting old, and the older the unit, the less chances are they'll get a big buff, there's a higher chance that HoYo just release their stronger replacement.
smb know the theme that is played at the beginning of the video?
it plays on the radiant feldspar, hasn't been released in the soundtrack yet
As a nihility main, harmony are simply weaker. The reason they are meta bcs they buff multiple stats at once. Whilst nihility at most debuff 2 stats of enemy since giving them too much would be broken imo. And almost all nihility are sub dps too by design, just something to add there. Nice video though ✌️
save my bladie also 2.6 blade rerun plz
Only Finality can save him atp 🫠
@@blancka4200 I cry :c
Cel and yoshi spotted
they dont really want to make Old units stronger. They rather want you to pull new more powerful units. Thats why powercreep exists. Old units are meant to be phased out over time. Every unit is basically a product of its time.
