The bus journey from Jammu to Leh is generally longer compared to traveling by car. The travel time can range from 24 to 36 hours, depending on the bus route, type of bus, any delays that may occur during the journey.
Few things that you should keep in mind are -
a. At times the traffic at Zojila pass is regulated and only one side of traffic is allowed to flow. So do take an update from taxi wallahs for route condition of the day.
b. Some times the traffic is half day towards Leh and half day towards Srinagar. So please know your half of the day to avoid getting stuck at Srinagar.
c. The Zojila is closed from November to April / May.
