If possible would you be able to start adding a short line about how long it took you to finish the games you review? It's something very important to me and I guess there must be other players out there who feel the same way. If I know a game is around 6, 10, or 15 hours long I can plan ahead and in many cases pick up a game that I wouldn't otherwise give a try, much like this one you're reviewing now. Seems like a nice one to play in between huge games that will be coming out soon.
Your reviews are top notch, extremely well articulated with high level English elements that is extremely descriptive. So well painted it was like listening to a radio show.
I love your channel man!! Your whole style of reviewing and the way you go about it absolutely hits the nail on the head. If I remember correctly (tell me if I'm wrong) you said that you will never review a game when they are paying you to say something specific / won't let you say what you want. Which I think is absolutely the way it should be. I can see you taking over as one of the "go to guys" for an honest game review! Keep up the good work, and you will grow in no time. (In June we'll probably be looking back and you'll have over a million subs)
I enjoy playing with a controller; But if aiming is a major factor in the game, even if it's 2D or 3rd person - I always use Mouse & Keyboard for them!
I’m a casual gamer. Ok, I died about 50 times before I made it through the first fight of CupHead. But I’m a Battle Chasers, Hollow Knight, Unruly Heroes and Salt and Sanctuary fan. Just enjoy different types. This looks fun’s but even the easiest of game if it’s too hard....... hand eye coordination and timing thing I don’t play. Gave up on Dark Souls and the likes. It’s $15, opinion. Great video by the way as always.
This looks fantastic! I find myself enjoying these 2d indy games much more that the big (expensive) AAA titles. I remember Total Biscuit showing this off months ago and I totally forgot about it. Now that it is finished, I'll definitely have to get it.
I think we need to spread the word about ACG , he deserves alot more subs for the content he puts out. you'll hit that million one day Karak don't you worry
Rigged for Epic its a clunky and cringy "gamer culture" celebrating title with uninteresting mechanics or lore, the only thing going for it is the artstyle, honestly.
I think more RUclipsrs should say if you didn't like the video give it a thumbs down. It just sounds more sincere that way. I did give the video a thumbs up btw!
6:38 Isn't that what Sousborne is about and everyone likes the series for it? As Miyazaki himself was saying "we never made our games hard on purpose, we just make them fair, so that everyone can finish them eventually". In that context "skill" is just a time you need to finish a game, how fast you will learn patterns and do it.
Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero is an awesome game regardless of the system that you buy it for. Its challenging, its gorgeous and colorful graphics wise, has quirky characters and it has a good bit of humor to it. In regards to Rise and Shine, I'd say that its definitely worth the price of admission. The game offers a good bit of challenge, has colorful and vibrant graphics and it looks like a lot of fun. The gameplay has a lot of charm and style as well. Rise and Shine is called a "think and gun" type game. However, I do feel a bit of a Metal Slug vibe after watching this video even though that game is more along the lines of a "run and gun" title. Rise and Shine has some bullet hell thrown in for good measure and shoot em' up sections which are the icing on the cake. I'll definitely be buying this game when it comes out tomorrow. Thanks Karak for the great video as always. Keep it up!
GIZSPARROW I don't know anything when it comes to making a game, or different types of animation, but this game looks beautiful in every aspect! Is this flash based or something? I've heard people complain about that before, but I wouldn't know the difference if it was or not. I grew up in the 80's- from Atari, to Nintendo, to SEGA. And let me tell you something bro, you'll never know the true meaning of the word pain, in this case, lazy (almost nonexistent) animation, until you've been through those years! Even though Contra was one of the top 5 hottest games, game companies weren't as morally, or creatively bankrupt back then because they were too busy making FRESH/NEW experiences, so it didn't have much competition. Anyway, a good comparison to this game would be "Midnight Resistance", a side scrolling shooter that looked great in screenshots, but the first time I played it, and saw the animation, I literally thought I got a broken copy! There were 2 frames, 🚶🏼& 🏃 If the dictionary had a photo for disappointment, and confusion, they would both be the same picture of my face at that moment. I still don't understand how they could release a game in that condition?
Lol I've been throught those years bro, Contra was awesome and yeah, haha Midnight Resistance have a really bad animation (yeah really 2 frames I see what you say haha). In fact, on 8 Bits consoles it was a bit "normal" (well some games were really good though) to see not much frame animations, due to lack of memory and all in the hardware. But in the 16-bits era, and moreover with the Neo-Geo, it was awesome the first time I've seen Metal Slug or King of fighters in movements!! or in 32-bits era with games like X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, meeeen it was impressive! Or just Heart of Darkness on PS1, remember it? Or even Street Fighter 3 meeeeeen, the animation is just WOW!! With this game "Rise and Shine" the graphics are really amazing (it's really beautiful!!) but, the animation is powered by unity3D-like software (or just Unity3D) which make the animation weird, like just images moving and rotating not real frames well defined like the "old-school style". I know it's easier and faster for development but I hate this. For example, I love the animation in Rayman 1 but hate the animation in Rayman legends/origins with this new style. Some cartoons use it too (Angela Anaconda for example), but I still prefer traditional animations like, for example, Spirited Away by Ghibli or Atlantis by Walt Disney Cie....
Another great review. I enjoy the reviews of the smaller games that are easy miss especially if they can offer a good experience or something different. Keep up the good work, I think my friends are going to murder me since every other sentence starts with "Well I was watching ACG"! It's honestly refreshing to find a reviewer who says it as he sees it, I've long since lost faith in the bigger companies to provide impartial and honest reviews so you're a God send!
damm i im not even interested in games like this, but your review really makes me want it cause of the fourth wall and gaming reference (and was that the duck hunt dog) damm thanx for the review man i am getting this. peace.
This game is great on the XB1 or on PC with a controller but using a mouse and keyboard so you can get the cursor to basically cheat yourself of the shooting challenge is silly man. I can't believe they even added a mouse and keyboard option for this as it really makes the game look stupidly easy. If you didn't have that as an option, do you think you still would have been meh about the game overall? It's really challenging without it. Especially the last level.
I'm very annoyed at youtube. not only am I subscribed but I turned on notifications for you and you are literally the only youtuber in which I've done that and not only do you not show up in my sub box but I get 0 notifications. what the fuck
I think that this game is going to suffer due to it's difficulty and a tad to much of the good old trial and error aspect of it. And it's a shame really since it's such a good and beautiful game.
Looks interesting... hate to say it but... Darn! This indie game isn't available for Linux! :/ (And no, I'm not using Windows. Why? Because Microsoft CS screwed me and I'm not coming back to them ever!)
when you don't have money too buy a game but watch the reviews cause its acg

Well, sir, you succeeded!

Great as always, ACG. Look forward to your next review.
thanks man

I am having issues on the cinematic/comic screens all of them are in black....anyone with the same issue?
Wow this wasn't even on my radar, this looks excellent. Almost like a far more violent Ori. I'll certainly be having a look, thanks man

no
Great vid
I saw you did Arslan, but did you play/intend to play Samurai Warriors 4 Empires?

For reviewing or playing in general? I always enjoyed the Empires series personally.
Would it be fair to compare elements of this with Okami? the battle system looks familliar.
You got it early? cool :)

Nice review but looking forward to hear your thoughts on Nintendo switch.
Someone get these guys to do a Metal Slug remake!
Yep but with metal slug animation style, not this kind of easy animation I see everywhere nowadays, I hate it

Sergio Xisto VERY different play styles. SNL can just do this themselves

Coming to switch?
I just love this game. I have so much fun with it.

Controllers on a PC game is stupid, let a lone a shooter.
Rise and shine is on Xbox 1 as well
correct
How's it going Mr. Beard?
I'm very annoyed at youtube. not only am I subscribed but I turned on notifications for you and you are literally the only youtuber in which I've done that and not only do you not show up in my sub box but I get 0 notifications. what the fuck

I love this game its fun and there is puzzles too
ACG is bae
First! Love your reviews buddy :)
Looks great.
Seems your motto is only "Violence Solves" on the Karak link and not "Violence Solves Everything" - unless I misheard you.
...
I think that this game is going to suffer due to it's difficulty and a tad to much of the good old trial and error aspect of it. And it's a shame really since it's such a good and beautiful game.
Ha, called Link Zelda. Surprised I haven't seen people flip their shit over it
More PC reviews please
huh?
Looks interesting... hate to say it but... Darn! This indie game isn't available for Linux! :/
(And no, I'm not using Windows. Why? Because Microsoft CS screwed me and I'm not coming back to them ever!)
there are ways to get windows for free. that's what i do, anyways.
ProbyWaN1337 No. You're missing the point. I don't like Microsoft.
lol thank you for celebrating arbor day
My pleasure
Lol I thought it was difficult (Xbox player)
:( I have glaucoma...
me too
This is this year's Ori and the Blind Forest.
No, it's definitely not but it's a fun game to play for a few hours. Ori lasts much longer and is much more involved.
