The ongoing protest by Samsung employees in Tamil Nadu has intensified as the police have begun a crackdown on striking workers, detaining several of them. The Tamil Nadu government’s handling of the protest has drawn widespread criticism. At the heart of the dispute is the registration of the CITU-affiliated Samsung India Workers Union (SIWU), which the company opposes due to the use of the patented “Samsung” name and the union’s political backing from the CPI(M). Efforts by the state government ministers T.M Anbarasan, TRB Raaja, CV Ganesan to mediate between the management and the majority of the striking workers have failed, leading to a deadlock. TNM’s Shabbir Ahmed speaks to Former Madras High Court Justice K Chandru, a labor law expert, about the employees’ right to form a union and the ongoing protest.

Seems you have got the genuine and the right person for the debate🙏
N V N Somu was union minister and union leader at same time isn't it Judge sir
While labour right are important, its also highly important that we Dont let TN become another Kerala.
Other than hear say what credible evidence do you have to support that argument against Kerala?
Kerala isn’t so far off in the per capita GDP compared to other South Indian states, and large scale industries not setting up shops in Kerala is due to whole diff intrinsic problems of the state; and it’s def not political.
@@Humanzee 1. Shashi tharoor is the source. Communist ruled states will always lag behind. See WB and Kolkata.
2. Kerala State is almost bankrupt. A significant portion of states income comes from foreign inward remittances from middle East. Structurally the state is doomed to fail
3. Most malayali have to migrate to nearby states for work or travel to middle East
4. Tell me theamount of FDI or any significant investment in past 10 years and pls compare that with other states of the south.
5. The simple fact that kochi isn't anywhere near Chennai, BLR or Hyderabad in terms of job opportunities, development and infrastructure.
Don't talk nonsense. Kerala is the first State that has fixed minimum wage. We take pride in our State Govt because they value the workforce. They don't look at workforce as slaves.
@@likhisuryan7201 that's exactly why communist governments fail people, where you talk labour rights to extreme level where nobody wants to do business. Becoming bankrupt isn't an achievement
I would request Samsung to move to Karnataka…..the same TN workers would migrate and work with mouth shut up.
