- Опубликовано: 4 фев 2025
- Google CEO Sundar Pichai joined the company in 2004 as a product manager. Since then, he's had a meteoric rise through the ranks before becoming CEO of Google in 2015 and then CEO of parent company Alphabet in 2019. During his tenure, he has focused the company on its cloud computing business - Google Cloud. He has also made deep investments in artificial intelligence, despite being beat to market by Microsoft partner OpenAI in 2022 with the blockbuster ChatGPT product. In an interview for "The David Rubenstein Show: Peer to Peer Conversations," Pichai dives into his fundamental belief that artificial intelligence is comparable to fire and electricity in its capacity as a new technology to cut across "every sector, everywhere." Pichai also addresses Google's mounting legal woes, as the company faces multiple antitrust suits from the Department of Justice and elsewhere. This interview was recorded September 20 in New York.

*Google grew almost 6X in market cap since Sundar took over. Once in a lifetime CEO. It's not an easy thing to manage such a large global corporation that provides products for a daily use for billions of people around the globe. Sundar has been the CEO for almost a decade now.*
I had the honor to meet Mr. Pichai in a luncheon at a JP Morgan Event last summer. Very humble and soft spoken guy. However, when he speaks, people listen because the intelligence he has come across in a very soothing and well structured way. Don't get him talking about his teas though. He sure does love his teas and can talk about teas for an hour lol.
teas? like literal tea or gossip?
This man is one of the most humble Big Tech CEO we have
I literally like sunder's way of speaking and explaining about particular aspects in deeper way
David made a mistake in facts. he mentioned stock price has doubled after sundar came in as CEO of google. it has 4xed
The way Pichai did not correct David or maybe he didn't notice it is nice
He said, "more than Doubled."
and you made a mistake using 4xed instead of quadrupled 😂😂
This guy sold all his google stocks anyway, check his insider selling SEC filing.
*Almost 6X actually.*
The majority of the questions were already publicly available and are of such low information density …
- “ Did you grow up Middle Class Sundar ? 👴 “
- “ Sundar what college did you study at 👴“
- “Sundar did you receive a full-ride scholar ship ? 👴 “
- “ I sampled Google’s food but how do you guys afford the food Sundar ? 👴”
The lack of preparation for this interview is an insult to the viewers time
I suggest David Rubinstein to google Sundai first before preparing his Q list.
Don't think David was allowed to ask non internet questions.
Such simple and mundane questions that have already been answered multiple times by Sundar. This was a missed occasion to ask more pressing and pertinent questions to a challenged CEO. Never quite understood the appeal of David Rubenstein..
Yes agree. Inane questions
Good interview. David drove it very well as always😊
I really enjoy the interview questions. I never seen this of interview any ever
Sundar Pichai is a great human. US benefits tremendously from indian immigration. Satya nadella is amazing too
Agreed.
bring in the indians, send away the blacks.
Not only IT in all fields
Human due to Google only for World.
If good then also human.
Thank you for sharing this.
Horrible questions… seems like the interviewer came right out of the bed in the morning with no preparation whatsoever
Waymo is fantastic
Thank you for posting.
Both guest and host amazing success with humble beginnings ! Truly inspiring!
Common Sundar! We believe in you. Get the most epic PR team and team the game around. Rooting for Google's success.
He spoke about search engines giving a person in rural Indonesia access to the same information as a Stanford Professor. The information still needed to be unpacked and distilled. Now AI promises to give the rural person almost unlimited free access to a Stanford Professor level assistant.
That was such a softball interview, mate. Honestly, one of the least engaging chats I've seen here in a while. It felt more like a pre-roll ad for an online course than a genuine conversation.
Great Interview
14:21 He majored in metallurgy... I wonder how much they teach about silicon in that?!
Thanks David bringing such insight through innovators in the world which impact billions of populations 🎉🙏
4:39 Ruben said "Chat GPT" and captioning tool wrote "Chat Chibi CBT". the speech to text has a long way to go and everyday is a milestone.
Howdy , greetings from the most desperate people of northern Europe, I have a message for people who can live better It takes people who talk a lot, it's nice to hear people who talk a lot, Russians talk a lot and it's nice to see them talk so much that you start to hate them, they are used to keep the manipulators away
Thanks
Sundar admits he favors a private life himself... hopefully he can emphatize with other people regarding privacy😅
Sundar is a great ceo, best of all the tech giants by far. Pls ask better questions next time, i mean the food in the cafeterias?? Lost opportunity I think but knowing a bit more about his family life was interesting, nice and healthy unlike elon musk..
Imagine you become this successful by worldly standards and still dont have the guts to speak against the ongoing atrocities in Palestine and somehow ending up helping the oppresors with your technology.
😆 Kitchen Table & Filing System
great David!
Yep we need all the smartest folks from all over the world to want to live and work in the US!
Knowledge supports growth.
This was the first Rubenstein interview I've listened to in full after being recommended the series by a friend and it may well be my last. What's the point of having on a super star guest if you're going to go on and have one of the most boring interviews ever.
Very good interview.
Sundar, if you are reviewing the comments, it would be wonderful if you raised the dividend!
Thanks!
Google is cooked in an AI echo system
Sundar, totally respect your journey and achievements. But as a humble user of many of your applications and products, can you please, please fix the current cluster f*ck which prevents Googleboard working with RUclips. Thankyou Sir.
PS currently hot desking in Thailand. You should try some of their jasmine teas....amazing!
I love how they started the interview talking about the lawsuits and claim that google is a monopoly then 6 minutes later Sundar lists like 10 different products they're world leaders in and 5 different industries they're investing in and developing.
They really need to get broken up lol
They say Google is like the Hoopoe to Solomon ❤
Sundar held back the launch of Google chatbot and as a result ChatGPT not only beat Google but his bureaucracy frustrated many talented researchers to leave Google.
No there is a eye staring at me I can see it now it was on twitter too n this thing has taken me out of my body like it’s alive something is there when I sleep I see this black sky like space like things n some one is getting images out of my mind
He is so down to earth person
it's like a job interview
"I hate to use the word monopolistic," Why? Because it's true? Because monopolies hurt society? Because monopolies favor a few greedy people and hurt society at large? Is that why you hate to use that word???? Legal challenges??? Don't you think that taxpayer money should go to other things than the Department of Justice having to sue an American corporation?? Do you think the DOJ has other things to do? Do you think the DOJ is doing this for fun? This is a softball ridiculous interview. Google is hurting advertisers and publishers. Google is actively stealing creators' content. Google actively hid evidence.
Selfish, arrogant, greedy, damaging society, culture, and innovation.
Sundar Pichai is a great human.
English is my 4th language and I have never done any interviews all my life but I bet I would have asked better questions. Did bro ordered his questions from Temu or AliExpress? Who duhfaq asks the CEO of Alphabet if he wears helmets on Waymo rides?😂😂 bruh 😅😅
Sundar has been an amazing CEO but I fear their failings in AI will be his downfall
Has he taken a pay cut to keep some of the folks employed instead of letting them go?
Is this an interview or a PR piece?
It’s scary people are misusing it I don’t know who is doing it someone put a dark thing I see dead people including my mother and you say it’s fine this is not fair you can’t I can’t let people use my mind as a machine I have gone through a lot of torture now time for justice
How to become Google CEO if you have job experience only in one company employed behind
"...in many countries, for example, like India, a large volume of our queries..." - Does Mr Pichai identify himself more with his global customers or more with Indian customers? Neither is better than the other, in my opinion, but it is interesting to note. He ended that answer by speaking of how humanity communicates, yet I'm curious to know what his priorities are/have been. Asking for a future CEO friend.
M.r Sundar I am proud of you and caannot thank Google enough ❤
Google is the first umbrella corp.
Tesla is second. 😂😂
You'll see it in the coming years
Big fan of David for 1st principle thinking. But, please please revamp the questions. Emily Chang does a great job in adapting.
And, Asking someone 'Are your parents alive?' is the most rude question you can ask them. 😢
In india we lost such talent due to facilities and lack of mind set
" act and compete your dream else some one hire you and full fill his dream "
Reservations and freebies politics is the reason
Cool
are your parents alive? is this the question to ask when you want to know about someone's parents well being?
the interviewer thinks he is the best, arrogant
Worst CEO ever, he killed Google search, their advertising, their adsense, everything. He should resign with immediate effect. His short term profits won't keep this company afloat forever.
The interviewer tone is really harsh. No smile looks very wild..in his tone. We understand that the interviewer is aged which should infact show more maturity the way he is asking. Are your parents alive.. very rude way of asking..Even an elementary school kid will ask in a more dignified way such question..
I have a Google Pixel and my Google photos date back as far as the YEAR 2023 ONLY
One of my most respected CEO. The TALENT POOL in google is the only reason (think sergey, neal, demis hassabis, larry, sundar, ruth porat..etc) I've been accumulating Google stocks thru hell or high water. However, i really think google should hire a good spokeperson to do all the talking and marketing for them. Imagine if Elon Musk is their head of Sales
I get really confused about life do we want to go to higher levels of being a human being or do we want to innovate god
"Are your.parents alive" is a mean question .
Yes I saw a algorithm open in my head I t was freaky and it’s like being a computer I’m not enjoying it
The products are horrible, they have stagnated and being beaten in every market the compete (except Search and RUclips). Sundar and all his directs need to go. Or, Google needs to be broken up for the company to start turning things around.
Rubenstein is not a great interviewer, that's for sure.
❤️🌺❤️👍🇹🇭
I used to look forward to David interviews but now he seem washed, I think his political biased favoring the Democratic Party has diminished his talent of interviewing lol
I ❤❤❤❤ Google
Boooorriiiiinnngg. Such a bureaucrat. No creativity, passion. Got to the top by playing the political game for which I don’t have any respect
We use chrome because of him
You watched the whole video to dump a hate comment. Can you even factually prove your claim?
What qualification do you have to say that he has no creativity and passion? Have you proposed any creative ideas which was rejected by him or your peers? Just because Sundar has been elevated to top position, you are unable to digest.. The founders of Google knows whom to select as a CEO.
@@Chanakya-o1q I'm glad that you get it too. It's easy to assess someone's success by the things we see. No one knows the kind of work he puts in behind the scenes or the pressure that he struggles with.
بيقلك بيعرف يستب وندوز
This is a lawless company, in the sense that their business decision-making does not rule out illegal activities. As long as those illegal activities don't incur criminal penalties, Google is fine with just continuing to do them.
They know that they are in violation of antitrust law, but now they are stalling to squeeze even more financial benefit out of their multiple monopoly positions.
Sundar Pichai and Ruth Porat come off as such nice people. No. Follow the law. Believe in the ethics behind the law.
Totally agree with you. They are damaging our society with their selfishness and greed.
Все эти повторные иски от правительства чтоб никто не шалил перед выборами как в 2016 году....после выборов все затихнет...найдутся поважнее проблемы ..
Such a bland interview, David was off his game for this one.
@DavidRubenstein
Eagle say Goeagle
Worst big tech CEO and has droped the ball multiple times. Stock price has gone up despite his incompetence simply because google is already so dominant. Any other company he would have been fired long ago, must have some crazy blackmail on the founders.
David is arrogant in his tone of questioning.. sounds condescending to colour.
He’s creepy
He seemed to belittle Sundar, keeps interrupting him. Ask questions in a mildly arrogant tone
He interrupts him a lot too
This is his interview style. He tries to come off as knowing less than he does in a dry humor way.
Dear
Ceo sudar pichai.
i need your help something for my id get had bully function😂. bored them 555+ it conection work with app right? i think you knew it!!. in future i thinking for them Psychology fucntion..etc #safe population or safe business?🤔

The propoganda that is going on around AI over the couple of years the fact is that the benifits of technology should reach to each and every segment empowering individual and community How many people can really afford ro pay the products and services %? Check out the fees and donations Hospital Bills 50 seat bus and 100 people travelling natural disaster weather California or asam. rubinstein has a huge face
Spineless coward. Hasnt spoken a word for the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

Sundar Pichai is the most boring & ineffective speakers among the top tier CEOs
I find Sundar Pichai a talented and soft speaking person who is an asset for Google.
Pichai needs to go.
Yep there a monopoly and need to be broken up
says the guy who can't spell 🤣
Could you explain what aspect of Google search is a monopoly? I understand early on the ease, functionality, and speed of a google browser and search made it naturally monopolistic on devices, or I should say naturally very competitive. It's only recently Bing made an effective value proposition with OpenAI
RUclips logo so cute
