I guess the only bit of advice to give you is that if you want to get better at composing, then keep practicing :) If you can, download other artists' source files and analyse what they do and learn techniques that way. That's really all I can say :)
Love the positivity ♥️
Sad Luigi you're waiting a year to listen to this? I wouldn't recommend it, this bops too much to delay any enjoyment.
Any chance I could get a .mid of this?
Still love listening to your work after all these years. Every now and then I come back after digging through my favorites to listen to these songs

It's crazy to think about how Fearofdark was only 15 or so when he made this. This guy is a great example of a musical genius for sure!
@-The Very Rusty Toaster 2017 RIP, same happened to me tough luck getting it back.
@@AlphaCarinae "rEaL MuSiC tAkEs TaLeNt"
oh shut the fuck up
@@AlphaCarinae horrible bait lol.
@@AlphaCarinae real instruments are more fake than chiptune, pure sound isnt generated by rubbing a string onto a string, pure noise is the basic square wave, and if you think it's just punching numbers into a computer, try making a chiptune song which sounds good.
@@AlphaCarinae when you can't hide behind overused beats and melodies, chiptune forces you to be creative
fun fact: in the magic school bus intro, they say "sine wave" instead of "sound wave" and it took me 8 years to notice
I don't know what to reply, but I am doing so anyways to acknowledge that this comment exists.
i noticed it before i watched the video lmao
Wow. Thanks for enlightening me. by the way I lost THE GAME!
I never understood any of the lyrics to that song, didn't keep me from jamming out to it
Is this a joke? or did you mishear the lyrics because in the animation, they are literally surfing on a sound wave coming out of a electric guitar
this guy should do a soundtrack for some game.
If I had my way, he'd be the one making the soundtrack for a game I'm working on
YES!
Like chiptune pokémon or something
Indeed.
@@raresideb he has been uploading things lately, you could tell him and see if you two reach an agreement
I declare this song as the best chiptune track in the whole time and space!
Melodic and orgasmic
Krelez I agree....Flame Repellent is high on my list though.
Anything by Fearofdark or Virt could easily count
Krelez, I'm sorry but I can't agree with that statement.
This is an amazing track, but it mixes real instrument samples with the "chip" synths, so it cannot be the best chiptune, because it is not a full chiptune.
you were 15 when you made this? i envy you
If you envy him you won't be able to that when you're 15.
I'm cringy when I'm philosophical.
And I hate it.

Surfing on a Sine Wave is iconic. if I had to choose one song to represent the chiptune genre, this would be it.
For me it would be FOD’s other song, Funknitium 99.
Y'know, maybe this world isn't that bad. This song certainly makes it feel like a bit of a better place.
This is a very genuine comment and I appreciate it, and I very much agree
Im going to do what no twitter user has ever done and agree with this opinion

@@deseoselasticos2349 truly one of the quotes ever
Also proof that the 90s Magic School Bus cartoon is worth remembering.
This is an absolutely GORGEOUS composition. It shimmers, it grooves, it surprises, it bounces, it is aggressive, it is docile, it is ambitious, it is confident, it is emotive, it is adventurous, it shines. And it bleeps, and also bloops!

This makes me think of the time when Homestuck was in it's heyday until the climax of Act 5 went about.

i got stuck in a loop in homestuck so i never saw the ending legit,i cheated

Not even once
i really wish i was there when Homestuck was a thing. i mean I learned about it maybe like before 2016 I believe but I didn't exactly look at that much of it.. then a while before quarantine I started watching Voxus' read of it and I kept reading past where it left off.. and then I read the epilogue and HS2 and now im sad because its not as gooooood and jade has been ruineddddddddddddddddddddd god damnitttttttt
People in the comment section saying “wow, he was 15 when he made this”, don’t underestimate the power of teenagers. They do cool stuff

Oh yeah?
This comment was made before I even started using RUclips, that's mad
Last seen 10 years ago
I really look forward to hearing that; especially seeing how you end up tackling the slap bass :P The cover of RDTS was really well done
It's been 13years since you posted this, hope you get this message to see that to this day, we are greatful for what you made for the rest of the world to enjoy.
Thank you
Damn it RUclips. Your recommended is knocking me over with these dope beats smh.
This got in my recommendation 1 year after you.
Are we swinging through the stars?
this song means so much to me
for me - not so much, just strong feeling of memory of how much i liked this song when heard it on owop radio, that i listened it for years on summers. it's so yellow and warm and energetic
Me finally understanding sinusoidal functions:
Question: Do you write your songs, and then notate them in your program of choice? Or do you compose it as you're notating it?
By the way, I just want to say I love this song sooo much. It fills me with happiness every time I listen to it. It's one of few songs I can listen to for long periods of time and not get bored with. This song got me started in chiptune. It's an amazing genre, and I want to thank you for opening it up to me!
The Keyboardist Why can't I give your comment a like?
Well, man, you just asked THE big question in chiptune :-P
Being a composer, i assure you it's both. From curiosity of how things may sound when tweaked, to happy accidents in notation. It's really easy to get confused in trackers if you don't pay attention, and loads of stuff can happen when you forget what goes where.
yeah, can we get an answer to this please? most of the comments on this thread have been completely redacted.
I still come back to this tune. So good.
I've listened to this countless times in a row.
This song feels so happy
This is a very well put together piece. I've been hearing it in my head for weeks! I love every moment of it.
This is one of the most emotional songs I’ve ever heard in that it just radiates such pure joy
This composition never fails to put me in a good mood. Every time this plays, it really does make my day.
A true masterpiece chiptune track. These are the songs that inspire me whenever I listen to them.
This is my favorite song. This is the song that got me into chiptune as a genre many years ago. Thank you.
This song fills me with so much joy
This smooth piece has been added to my chiptune list!
Great work!!!
This particular piece has so much going on, the SEGA and Amiga vibe in some pieces, the C64 vibe starting at 0.32, well composed and it takes you places, have been listening to it regularly and always enjoy it. One of the best chiptune originals out there in my opinion, well done!
0:32
This really brings me back to the first weeks of quarantine. We all thought it was just going to be a fun month long break where we could catch up on everything and then relax. That was truly some of the best times of my recent years
That ending, it's why I love this kind of music. VGM has always lent itself to that childhood charm of intricate happiness.
Just bought your album man. The best chiptune I've ever heard!
I'm always coming back to youtube now and then for this song. Thanks for a great track!
one of my all time favorites out of the entire random chiptune mix series by Krelez. to think that entire music trip started with this, what a hell of a way to start it with a bang O___o
And now the journey is over. ;-;
One of the absolute best compositions I have heard. This transcends chiptune - it is a masterpiece in the combination of groove, harmony, melodic content, structure, color, and so much more. To think that this was all done in a tracker, controlling every sound through what's essentially just a big list of letters, is a true testament to your genius as a composer and understanding of music. It is simply mind-boggling how you have been able create such intricate compositions with this software, and I would even say the limitations force you to be even more creative and elevates your music that much further. The instrument is just as much a part of the composition as the genius writing it, and you exemplify that perfectly.
Love it! So jazzy and chill with the sine/bit charm!
These compositions make me feel so emotional, they have this incredible bittersweet quality and I just wanna cry because I'm really in love right now, I'm in love with this boy and we both like funky chiptunes so he'll probably stumble upon this comment eventually and I miss him cuz he's away right now and I feel so on top of the world but also so scared of losing him and losing him maybe just cuz we're growing up. I think too far in the future but for now it's absolute bliss and I can't believe its happened to me.

It took approximately 10 minutes of scrolling through 10 months worth of youtube history to find this earworm again. 😭❤
This is amazingly nostalgic and soothing, even though I've never heard this before.
Consecutive hearings fill me with further nostalgia of an imaginary place with subtle ~waves~ of joy and sorrow.
