Im not a knicks fan but i have to admit the knicks got a special person in Jalen Brunson. He is all about team play and winning together.

@@SonnyK248 Lebron, Wade, and Bosh all took less to sign with Miami. KD gave a discount when he signed with Golden State so they could keep Iguodala and Livingston. Steph was making $11 million when he won his first championship in 2015. Every Spurs star was playing for less than max when they won in 2014. That accounts for 6 out of the last 11 championships. Also, Jalen did technically sign for his max. He just signed a year earlier, when his max is lower than it would be a year from now.
@@peteranzano267 can’t really use the Steph one 😂 he was worth 11 mill when he signed that deal. And KD signed for the max in Golden State. Golden State obliterated the salary cap to keep all their guys, So that takes 4 rings off the table. And it ain’t like people don’t complain incessantly about the Miami big 3 and their accomplishments 😂 on The Spurs, only Tim Duncan was even worth a max contract. And they didn’t have max contracts in 2003 but when Tim signed his deal that year it was one of the biggest in NBA history. He was making the same money as Kobe and that was a seven year deal so that covers a lot of his team rings and took him up to 34 years old which at the time wouldn’t have even made him eligible for a max. But whatever. The point I was making was Giannis, Jokic, SGA, Luka, Tatum, Ant you name it, are all contending while earning the max. They ain’t leaving money on the table so that they can get an advantage 👌 Also he’s just dumb for doing it. New York is the biggest market in basketball. It’s them that should be sacrificing money not Brunson. Pay him 270 in a year and if they have to pay through the nose in luxury tax so be it. They’ll still be making billions over the coming decades but his career is short.

Both Bridges and Randle are soon eligible for their own extensions. And Brunson has set the model -- everyone take a little less than you deserve, but the core group stays together, the front office still has flexibliity, and the team wins overall. It's playing chess in the long term. Brilliant.

Even without it NYC should make sure he's taken care of. Throw endorsements at him and he should never have to pay for a meal. Make it worth it. That's how a big city should take care of its stars that make sure they give money back. A lot of max players don't seem legit worth their max contracts. But they still get em.

And although he is *technically* "giving up" something like $113 Million over some years, he is STILL MAKING something like $24 Million per year. Not too shabby. And you couldn't really live any better with the additional money he is giving up. But NOW that he is the King of New York, he could quite simply call up his wife while he is on a Milwaukee road game. JB: "How are you doing, honey?" Mrs. JB: "Well, I'm sitting here with my three besties, poolside, but we are bored and don't know what to do tonight."
