Simple how-to: Change headlight bulbs, Fiat Punto

- Easy DIY how to: replacing headlight bulbs on a Fiat Punto Mk2.
You will need:
* New bulbs as required (replace in pairs): 2 x H7 for low (dip) beam, 2 x H1 for high (main) beam [check bulb types before purchase as some Puntos are inconsistent]
- H1, Amazon US: amzn.to/2a0KuOv | UK: amzn.to/2c5by1S

* Socket wrench or spanner to remove LHS light assembly bolts
* Latex gloves (ideally)
* Flashlight (maybe).

Put brand new bulbs in my fiat Punto just like you both lenses are clear but that one headlight bulb on passenger side still dull any ideas
You can put led bulbs in that headlight?

On my Fiat Punto 2 (188) 1.9D (Diesel) 1999 - 2001
Mine are H7/H7 without Front Fog lights (Construction year to 6/2001)
With Front Fog Lights is H7/H7/H3
Replacement is all 4 bulbs because they work together when on main beam.
H1/H1 will operate in the same way.
H1/H7 combo is the 2003 new style pear drop headlamp enclosure.
On mine I just unbolted the fuse box and moved it out of the way enough to get my hand at the back. Couldn't do it by just unbolting the lamp enclosure.

@@CraigsDIY by the way, are the sidelights/parking lights on yours W5W 12V bulbs?
They fit in a little "pencil" connector.
Not all Punto MK2 headlamps have the same bulbs. Some are both H1 or H7, some are alternating between those 2.
+Nick d That's correct, so I guess the bulbs should be checked before purchasing replacements. I think the H7 low H1 high arrangement is more common.
Actually, I think there are two types of the mk2a headlights depending on the year of production. 99-2001 Puntos have H7 low beams + H7 high beams, while 2001-2003 Puntos have H1 low beams + H1 high beams. In any case, there is supposed to be just one type of the bulbs in the headlight.

some headlights have h1 h7 as well, which is highly inconvenient
Nick d Are you sure we are both talking about pre-facelift Punto? The newer Punto might have H7+H1 but I can only get H1+H1 or H7+H7 for my mk2a...or aren't there different headlights for RHD version?

The fog lights at the front are the lights at the far outside. There are separate push buttons on the center console for front and rear fogs, they are nowhere near the headlight switch because Italy.
That fuse box just had to be there

Shit, bought the wrong bulbs... My low beams only have connector that fit H1s!
Anyway, punto has very bad lights
the voice is no in sink with video!!!
