Glad to finally see a 250r atc on the channel
I’m waiting for a Fourtrax or a quadracer
@@ronaldtartaglia4459 op lpp
That’s what those were built for! There wasn’t a central Ohio PD that didn’t try to chase one at some point. With the right pilot, they were all but impossible to catch.
Taunton Mass. cops also / NEVER got close , unless I let them catch up . LOL
instablaster
i lost a cop on a 90cc back wheels bouncing off a curb and managed to hold on.
What treat to see one of these on the channel ! Gave my son a 70 for Christmas, we both couldn’t be happier when we are on our 3 wheelers !
I had more fun on a 3 wheeler than anything I ever had. I was a kid just when they stopped making them. You either got a used 3 wheeler or one of these new Honda fourtrax. It’s amazing the things we did on small engine machines back then. It never stopped is from conquering anything...just had to know how to ride. Now everybody needs 7-1000cc to do anything 😂
Keep sending those bikes daily, so others that can't, at least have great pleasure watching and hearing it :) All the best from Poland. Stay strong guys!
Poland!!! 💪
@@Davido50 my wife is Polish, damn good people
This is what I learned on. My brother bought one for me back in the day. I had no idea how to shift or use a clutch but I learned fast. It was a true joy to ride and would love to own one again
aint nothing better then a 3 wheeler & snow!
TejasToolMan nope, they really hit their stride in about 86’
Snowmobiles
4 wheels
anyone that disagrees has never ridden a 3 wheeler in the snow. they are a BLAST!
Heck yeah. Beats my Z50A when I was younger, busting my tail section. Like,Ken said "what a hoot"
Takes me back used to have one back in the day the only three wheeler that I can literally sky with unbelievable horsepower to weight ratio was amazing. Although the three-wheeler is not for everyone when it's in your blood it's you know it . I still have a small 185s to this day I do miss the 250R a lot thanks for the video Kaplan America
Never forget that 1985 Christmas morning I was 8 years old my dad bought me ATC 70 the best days of my childhood riding that trike everywhere.
This is the first time I haven't seen Kaplan ride a bike hard. Even Kaplan understands these 3 wheelers were death machines. If you rode one of these and survived you are one of the lucky ones.
My friend did flat track on one of those..extended axles..handmade shorty tires, overbore...expansion chamber..he was clocked at 93mph on a run down in Norman...that thing was unreal!!!
This was the first trike/bike my dad scared the living hell out of me on, I was maybe 6, he had a 250R that was poked and stroked to the gills, I remember it had a big chrome pipe and extended axle, got me on it 1 afternoon and it took all I had to find the kill switch after about 5 minutes of riding that monster with him. Needless to say that probably set the tone for my addiction to bikes and speed!! 👍✌️
Can't get enough of seeing you guys enjoying these rippers
Best years of my life were spent at 14-17 years old in my Honda ATC 250r ripping all over east side of Houston. Running from game wardens and cops... Just a kid having fun.. Got a lot of trim because of my 3wheeler back then... Mostly because I had a way to get to the girls when most dudes didnt at 14 15...
Wow she is amazing.. I grew up riding the 1985 250r.. had 3 of them ..and 2 350x.. and one four trax 250r ..my last 1985 250r is on the display at ronnies in north adams mass on the show room floor.. she is all original except the fork boot.. the stock one just dried up and cracked so they replaced them.. I love going in and seeing her.. yes I hug her every time Lol.. I wish I knew about you guys then I would have called you an seen if you wanted her for the museum.. I do have a 1985 350x project trike many great parts solid frame from Arizona with no cracks or welds with title.. same for swing arm.. has the skid plate mounts still in tact.. great engine.. cobra pipe.. all oem hard to find rubber grommets..for frame..like seat. And tank etc missing some parts tank ..plastics.. have original head light bezel and working lights not cracked seat foam with after market cover.. have to locate rear brake caliper and brake pedal..lost them during a move.. at this point I have done over 44 bike and trike builds thinking I might just sell as parts..it’s been in my garage for like 6 yrs now waiting to finish .. well great video thanks for the memories you just gave me.. lol god bless you guys and stay healthy Kaplan family!
I raced one of these and 200x for practice. Be carful ken. There hard or different to ride. I’ve been ran over a few time and try not to run over your own feet I love them. Not everyone’s cup of tea. If you was closer it would be coming home with me. I’ve been looking for atc350x for when it snows. Keep behaving like a teenager Ken. Love what your doing. And saving some of the most iconic trail and race bikes ever. When the doors opened and it had snowed what els could you ride. Brilliant just brilliant
I learned to ride on one of these! My bro said if I could start it myself I could ride it any time I wanted.
Was too much bike for a 9 year old but it tought me how to control all other bikes and quads had after.
Great fun in snow bought a tri z 250 in 2001 ready for a bad winter never got bad snow 7 years later traded for a xr 250 then bad winter came rode xr to work in 12inch of snow 35 miles each way
Another great video
He’s having some fun with 250R atv
Snow ❄️ love it..
Rode correctly they were fun..
I totally agree with you KAPLAN... They discontinued due to the idiots that were riding them. Definitely not the bikes fault. Just to many people trying to exceed their riding abilities. Thanks for sharing the video as always brother.
Oh definitely I’ve seen people take these and throw CR500’s or 350 banshee motors and end up severely hurt or dead
Nothing like hearing a strong air fooler roosting down in the woods ! That bark and smell of good premix !! That is one of the strongest sounding and best looking 2nd gen R’s I’ve seen since 84 !! She does sound a little fat down low I’d move clip up one and come out on air a 1/2 or so to start !
My first three wheeler was the 250 R and we used to tear up the dunes at Pismo Beach. Eventually I bought paddle tires for it I did the eights and the tens back in the days where you could ride all the way to the point of Pizmo. This wheeler never disappointed me
I learned to ride on an 83 250r when I was about 6 yrs old. They were fun for sure! Man, I need to come down to see you guys!
Man every time I come to your channel I see bikes that I've either owned or a buddy has owned like this 3 wheeler my mate raced one back in the 80's. Thank you all so much for bringing all the amazing memories back
Awesome air-cooled monster!! I like the first air-cooled ones!! Had a Tri-Z 250 up the road from us during the hay-day of the 80'God-Bless-Us-ALL
Man. I had a 84 250r and 86 250r I had bought new, also a 86 350x, and a 83 200x, I wish I had anyone of them back !
8:05 love the DG pipe echoing throughout Rockville!
Had a 86 250r. Great bike.
Pretty sure the 84 model was the year that really had bummed buyers when the 85 model came out....
I need to see you guys on 85-86 250r, I’ve got one and it rips compared to my 84, my 84 also had a hondaline 300 big bore.. the liquid cooling definitely made those things rip
Good job on restoring that old jewel!! Back in '85 a good friend ( he passed about 5 yrs ago) bought one new, same color and everything. Don't remember how much it was. I was riding an older '78 CR250,we would drag race. Neck to neck. Those trikes were fast!! Same year.. bought a '81 CR450. Just to go a little faster....We rode everywhere. Thanks for the great video, brought back a lot good memories! Good up the good work!!
This reminded me of when I was a teenager in Michigan, my dad bought me a brand new 1984 Honda ATC 250R when I was 16, good times!
11\84 my dad bought me a 1985 250R i was 14 ..that 250R MADE A MAN OUTA ME!
I grew up sitting on the front of the seat while holding the front bar & pad at 2 & 3 years old and with a wide grin on my face as well... my dad would drive me around the property on his '84 just like this one. Fast forward 35 years... now I'm 38 and have a 10 year old son that I've been driving him around that same property on the SAME '84 ATC250R since he was little. It still rips after all the years! Great video guys, I just discovered you today. New subscriber for sure!
Had allot of fun on those darn things we had two 250r and a 350x growing up.
Great! I've owned 4 Honda 4 stroke ATCs. I still ride my 1985 Honda ATC 250SX. Three wheels are much more fun than 4.
Got this bike brand new in 83 was a learning experience I crashed and broke the light off first thing 250 is alot of bike on a trike I got a tecate then back to the Honda 85 water pumper and still got it. Fun momories thanks for the flashback.
I had that exact bike back in 1985.. Bulletproof, indeed.. Very different feel then the 1st generation 81-82 models.. Great days.. 🤘🇺🇸🤘
Mike Bressler I remember smoking you on my 86 in the pool. 💯💯🧨🧨🧨👍👍👍👍
@@anthonybressler4404 Nope... Sorry Junior, the only way you were smoking ME in the 80's was if you had a HALLUCINATION from something you WERE Smoking.... 🏁🇺🇲🏁
Mike Bressler Michael come on now sonny.
@@anthonybressler4404 👎
Air cooled!! I believe 84’ was. 85’ and up was liquid cooled. Correct me if im wrong! Anyways AWESOME ASS BIKE !!!
We know you went back to ripping on it after the video was killed.
Absolutely love your vintage bike videos, keep up the brilliant work 👍
Nice 2 stroke. My buddy had the 250sx we use to ride it all over in 8th grade. I'm 46 now - good times
the 2nd gen 250R's are underrated. sweet machine 🤙🏻
Proud owner of 84'
There not underrated just most have been wrapped a kind a tree or flipped.
@@supersonic0469 put a 350x headlight bezel on it.
It’s a Ripper I can tell you are going to have fun big time. Your crew is Awesome Ken. Man what a beautiful job they did so Awesome. If I was not sick in bed I would love to buy it big time. It looks like so much fun.
Finally awesome a 3 wheeler
I love your dads saying.
So much so i use it now.
I remember clearly as a kid going to the Honda store in Southbridge ma seeing all these beautiful quads for sale on the showroom floor awsome love this
As far as original goes, its pretty close. Rear tire size are cool BUT not stock. Also missing the fork boots. Seat is messed up a bit but whos counting. Otherwise a great find. Runs like new. Brings me back to my teen years. So cool!!!!!!!
Just picked one of these up a couple months ago with a Hondaline 300cc top end but I can’t ride right now-I work at a hospital and don’t want to risk getting injured.
I was 15 and went into my local Honda dealership with my Dad. I had $1700 and my dad paid the rest. Bought a brand new 86 ATC 250R! Man was that thing fast! Chirped the tires every gear going down the driveway. On the right track with my buddies nothing could touch my 250R😀
Brings back fond childhood memories. I never owned one but.friends and family had diffrrent atc's. My fave was the ATC 185. my uncle charlie had one of these and it was a blast when he took us kids forna ride. Scary fun! My uncle chalrie committed suicide but he was happiest whe. He brought the Atc's and took us kids for a ride.
That's one of the best running/looking airfoolers I've seen
This guy is a hoot, always wearing a helmet and usually riding boots, would love to roll like him.👍👍
Nothing like a 3 wheeler in the snow. I prefer one in the snow. Some of the best fun you can have in the snow. Plus it's a Honda what else could you want. Had them all in the past 40 years nothing like a Honda.
Looks like the boys have some more polishing to do after THAT terror session!🤣What a screamer!
if i were a millionaire i would be buying alot of machines from this guy!
I Remember my buddy Had the ATC 90 I believe it was. Yellow with these big balloon tires. Was a Pull start 4stroke. Quite a bitch to get it out wen it got Stuck in mud... BUT... It was ALL Fun back in the day. Nice machine there.....
Awsome. I had the 81' 250r. It was actually my first 2t . Nothing like getting sideways on one. Going down a technical hill? That is another matter entirely.
That was the very first clutch my youngest daughter rode when she was 13 and I bought her first dirt bike when she was 14 a Kawasaki KLX 125 and I got her a Yamaha TTR 125 and then I got her a Suzuki Ozark 250 and then I got her a Yamaha warrior but we have had a blast man that thing is mint 👍🏼👍🏼✊🏼✊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Hell yeah, screw this stupid virus! People need to get out there and stop living in fear! I was just rippin my '86 Tri-Z here in Southington...
Just got done riding my big red myself.
badass, there are literally no decent tri z's available anywhere.
Had a 86 250r, digged the Yamahas. You have a rare bird and keeper! Only one more rare were the Tecates. Never see those!
@@highwayman1218 My buddy has a Tecate
Dame skippy they do
Sweet af this 80s Honda the dude can ride too hi from the 🇬🇧
I know you wheel n deal....I would fall in love with too many of these machines you go through....sweet....
Broke my shoulder on the same year and everything! I’m dying to add one to my collection again 💪🏼🤘🏼
Now we are talking my school, last 3wheeler I had was a 350x,phat wisco piston, flat slide carb, rpm limiter deleat, thing would eat any 2stroke250 dirtbike, pissed many a dude off riding in Pennsylvania wilds, sold it to buy a house,
I rode my buddy's why he rode my dirtbike loved it it would chuck you of if you drift it catch a rock happened to me more than once awsome trike
That was the one that have back in the day brings me back to me when I was a kid now I'd be too scared to ride that thing laugh out loud
Very nice guys are real Ripper. One of the nicest 2-stroke three-wheelers I've ever seen.
If you think that atc is the nicest one you have ever seen then I have a real treat for you Kenny and the rest of the world to see. Back when these were outlawed my father picked up four of the 1987 liquid cooled 250r 2 stroke atc's and not only does he still have them but 3 have still never been ridden! He's only rode one of them through out the years and these things are in pristine condition
@@Jay-co4ux lmao
@@Jay-co4ux your telling me your dad has 4 1987 ATC250R's??
Hey, Kaplan, have you seen this company called BVC Trykes?? They do a Big wheel conversion as well. Pretty bad ass company. Worth a look see. Have a good one, brother.
Love ripping on my '85 350X! More fun than most can handle. Quad's are just trikes...with a training wheel!
Had one of these back in the day (same year). You can really get allot of power out of them easily!
I just sold my ol 84 200x it was fun and un killable!
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING ...think I even like this 84 Honda 250R model over the 85 & 86 liquid cooled models .
I had an 87 250R I miss that thing
Love the air cooled 250r's.. you guy need to get a nice trx 250r ;) i wana come rip mine down there.
Great video - brought back a lot of memories of my 1984 ATC250R. They are awesome bikes. Wish I hadn't sold mine.
Did a six-seven feet high jump with one on a demo day in front of a crowd the trike was sold as i landed.... :)
Grew up on three wheelers. Had a 85 250R. Port and polish and pipe and carb. Then you will see a real death machine
I drove a 250r and a quadzila I still love the 250r
Awesome! Would love to see you guys do a lt500 quadzilla or a 4 wheeler version of this bike
You guys talk about jetting alot. Please make a video about 2-stroke tuning.
John Doe run your bike, check the plug, too dark and oily, too rich, too light, too lean, tan, just right. And you’ll notice detonation and backfiring if it’s too lean also. Another thing, changing oil in a two stroke doesn’t effect the cylinder at all, it’s only for the transmission. The oil you mix with the fuel is the only lubrication the piston, crank and cylinder get, so mixing it heavy when in doubt is always better. A fouled plug is way cheaper than a blown motor. 32:1 is the universal ratio.
Beautiful bike... I have 2 250es that I'm in the process of restoring
I have a Honda Big Red that I bought in the late 80’s that still runs like a top. You can’t kill a Honda
Man that sounds goods and you were definitely rippin it up!
Nice 😎
I had a chance to ride one a few years ago, I'm a Dirt Bike guy but that thing was pretty fun to ride.
That's my dream ATC 250R incredible machine man hats off to you🎩
I wish these three wheelers would make a comeback. Imagine if Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki all came out with brand new 2020 three wheelers with the new technology. They would be rowdy little bikes.
Finally a trike video
6:18 letting the bald 🦅 flyyyyy! 7:33 Kenny's face. No need for the gym today just went 5+mins on a MINT ATC 250 3 Wheeler!!!
Do it for Dale.
Ha that was legend at 7:33
Love my 1984 250R!!! 80's Metal and ATC's Baby! Gotta love the shit!
I had dam near the whole line of 3 wheelers but the 350x an this. Killer bike man.
LonglivetheATC250R!
Those things are weapons. I so miss mine.
Beautiful long live ATCs
That bike is so crispy 🔥🔥
Clean 🧼
Miss having this bike when I was 14
Hahaha "we've given it a full detail, she's absolutely spotless......proceeds to rip the shit out of it in the snow 😂😂
God bless Kaplan America!
Picked up my first air fooler a week ago today awesome video
I had an 86 water cooled I loved ITm
Bonjour, je vous avez vraiment des véhicules d exception j adore et j aimerais vraiment vous rencontrez . Ca serait du rêve de voir toutes ces motos . Merci 👍👌
Nice trike I'd run that back brake line different though if you jump it might stretch and snap I'd run a longer hose up the swingarm then up to rear frame
one of my favorites, slide the sand skim the water back to sand...running river banks
Awsome well taken care of peice of history
