Something that wasn’t mentioned that I have recently learned is wash your hairbrushes with soap, weekly, seriously. The amount of dead skin/ sweat that builds up in your brushes is crazy and it can make your scalp prematurely oily and irritated!
as in the video, not sure how true some facts are, but have heard for years from hair dressers, that its very damaging to brush a specificly wet hair, same as rubbing it in the towel.
@@ineta46 It's also damaging to brush it dry, damaging to use heat and also damaging to leave it wet. Unfortunately you can't avoid damage completely. I find I have less damage brushing it wet with a wet brush or tangle teezer than I do brushing with tangles later.
weekly? euw. I mostly use cream products and I wash my brushes/blender every day. Takes approximately 2 mins. But if you do it weekly, on day 7 you’re using a skanky brush that’s been sitting there for 6 days attracting dust and insect sh*t. 😮
Also note that dandruff and flakey, dry scalp are very different things! Dandruff is technically a fungal issue that needs medicated shampoo. However if you have dry scalp that’s flakey, the last thing you want is to dry it out more with dandruff specific shampoos! Also washing your hair brushes regularly!
Adding that product build up can also show up as white flakes stuck to your hair strands! This was the case for me when I realized dry scalp products and dandruff products weren’t getting rid of these flakies. A clarifying shampoo did the trick! I recommend the virtue clarifying shampoo, especially if you use sulfate free products.
10:33 I have to let you know that you're so freaking hilarious Allana and Dejan's editing game proves that he knows when and how to highlight those amusing moments!
Saying a prayer to the hair gods for this one! I just love Lanmas so much! It’s so incredible that you and Dan decided to sponsor some families. If it weren’t for people like you, I wouldn’t have had Christmas as a child. 🙏🏽✨
My ‘healthy hair’ includes only washing once a week, drying my hair on the lowest heat setting (takes FOREVER!!!) and only heat styling once! I curl my hair often and my hair holds curl until it gets wet again. One dry and style with heat per week and it’s working well!!! Also, sleep with my hair in a loose bun so I’m not sleeping on it and pulling it in my sleep.
I am on the older end of being a millennial, and I was taught to wash daily...so I do -everyday or every other day (I also work in construction, so my hair gets REAL dirty, REAL fast). But I also have very dry scalp, hair and skin and I do find that my hair is healthier and less dandruffy when I wash daily AND blow dry daily. From my understanding, dandruff is caused by a fungus (ew) on your scalp and leaving it wet or damp is the perfect breeding ground for it. Anyway, my hair stylish always marvels at how my hair can be so long and healthy with this kind of routine 🤷♀. I would say that this winter, my ends are a little drier than usual, so I've been making an effort to mask more as well. Thanks for this!
I bought the Wet brush after you had said in an old video how much you love it and I will say that I love it too! I love that it doesn’t pull your hair like other brushes do.
Not giving advice just my experience, I was losing a bunch of hair in the shower and I was getting real concerned about it, my scalp was also feeling very angry and irritated. I went to the dermatologist, we ran some labs and the fix was I needed to take 5,000 units of vitamin d a day, be good about my multivitamin, 2% salicylic acid shampoo 2-3 times a week which is how often I wash my hair, and never ever going to sleep with wet hair. Since I’m a night shower gal I will always blow dry my hair before I go to sleep. All of this combined truly solved all of my problems and I’m so grateful for my dermatologist she is the best.
At the ripe old age of 73, I have hair down to my waist. I almost always have it in a braid. I only wash it once a week. It takes forever to dry. I’d love to win the Dyson Dryer. This was a great education on hair care. Thanks Allana. Happy Christmas!🎄❤🎄
I love that you don’t take this too seriously 😂 because who knows with all the conflicting information 🥴 I actually recently developed eczema on my scalp so literally everything is aggravating it but I’m really interested to try the no towel wrap and cold water, wish me luck😂🤞
I HIGHLY recommend the “blowout professor“ on youtube! He has a salon in Florida and makes videos all around hair! He doesn’t do sponsorships so can really trust in what he says! And let me tell you this guy knows his business!! It is so informative and you can learn a lot about hair.
I’ve been following you since 2017 and it’s literally becoming my morning routine to watch your videos while getting ready in the morning! These vlogs are making me so happy!!! Love love love them, they put me in such a good mood
13:58 You might want to try a silk head scarf & the hair wrap or bonnet (I’m partial to the bonnet scarf combo) to get your night time protection to stay on while you sleep. 🤭Since you have long hair it wouldn’t be great to use j u s t the scarf.
You brought out the measuring tape to check that the blow dryer was 6 inches away from your scalp! Yes one of the reasons you’re my favourite content creator ❤
I have lost a lot of hair this year due to illness, it is slowly but surely (with lots of patience, vitamins and what not) growing back. Last week I went to the hair salon for a new look and I am loving it. These products would be cherished in my new haircare routine, for sure! 🥰
I like to do a braid or extremely loose low ponytail at night and it helps my hair get less tangled and the ends are less damaged! The hair mask + workout routine is 👌🏼I’m also doing rosemary + mint oil massage and leave it in for an hour to stimulate growth since my hair is thinning since I turned 25 🥲 thanks for the other tips!! ❤
okay 1) my hair has never felt cleaner than when using pantene shampoo (i’ve used redken all soft for years and ran out and used my boyfriends pantene and now i’m hooked) 2) biotin gummies actually did AMAZING things for my hair in the areas around my face where i had a lot of breakage. 3) as a girl with occasional dandruff the best thing I ever did was mix apple cider vinegar and water 1:1 and I put a teaspoon onto my scalp every other hair wash and my scalp is SO clean. Only thing that worked and so cheap. I think in reference to your skincare video - sometimes less is more!!
Natural remedy: rice water: I need to stick with it, but using Rice Water and putting it in your hair right before washing it. You let the rice sit in water (I need to do that anyways before cooking the rice to eat) and I do feel like it makes my hair shinier and should help with hair growth.
I used to have beautiful hair, but stress, age, hormones, etc have done a number on my hair. I’m trying to take much better care of it and pamper it, so I appreciate all of the tips & tricks! 💓
Bless you thinking about the different plug types. I'm totally digging Lanmas 👌 just binging the last few days whilst I get ready, and all your uploads are so great to listen to and watch. I feel like it's a mega mash up of Educating Gem and relaxing get readies *chefs kiss! Keep up the great work you two ❤
Yess please!!! So important to take care of the hair💕 especially in the arctic cold❄️😍 also don't think I ever got round to commenting on your lash vlog regarding helping families in need. Warmed my heart so much that you spoke up about it and raise awareness on the matter❤️
As a curly headed person, this is my JAM!! My hair is just dry, even when healthy, it's such a struggle to grow out (shrinkage is too real). I tried putting coconut oil in my ends a few hours (one hour is probably more than enough) before shower, and it felt sooo good afterwards, such springy and soft curls! I know the hair community is kinda divided on the usage of oil, I just don't overuse, and make sure my hair gets cleansed and don't drown in it. Jojoba oil is also sooo good, it's has the same properties as our own natural oils, so should be good for dry skin and psoriasis etc. I also suffer from itchy and dry scalp often, so I really focus on massaging and cleansing that scalp. And the cold shower at the end, it's possible to get used to, it gives me such a boost, don't want to go without now! Loved this video, Allana!
Another tip if you use a hair straightener, run the iron over a section of hair only once and keep going to other sections, let it cool before you run it over over a section again if needed 😊. Thanks for being so generous at the holidays ♥️👏🏼🫶🏻
Love this so much! Appreciate the effort you went to for this box and you inspired me yesterday to donate to our local food bank everyday for the rest of December. Thank you for reminding us that there are practical things we can all do if we are able ❤xx
I only wash once a week, use the right shampoo and conditioner with bonding ingredients in it, i use a tangle teezer, only heatless Styling, i leave it in a microfiber towel as long as possible and then use the hairdryer. Hair oil is very important and no thight Hairstyles. I also only bleach it once or two times a year ( balayage) I haven very long blonde hair and always get compliments, so is really pays off ;)
Currently in hospital, had 3 seizures Tuesday for the first time in my life. So very unwell having lots of investigations done. However silver lining I have multiple days on Lanmas to catch up on 🥰
If you have dandruff you need to wash your hair more than once a week. It’s caused by yeast overgrowth on the scalp, not dry scalp. Will also help hair grow in the thin spots if you keep the yeasties at bay. Scalp brush is excellent for that too.
Thank you for the very generous giveaways! I can think of several influencers who feature luxury goods who just don’t bother. By the way, your complexion is looking fabulous!
Biggest game changer in my hair health was adding a chelating shampoo every few washes. If you don't have a filter on your showerhead, there are a lot of minerals that deposit on your hair and scalp that make it dull and rough and just not looking it's best. A clarifying shampoo will clean hair and scalp of product buildup but it's not enough to get a fully redisue free clean that is able to soak up conditioners and treatments.
One thing that’s made a big difference for my hair is oiling, scalp but also before showering/ shampooing doing lots of coconut oil on my ends. Way less breakage
So excited for this! Your hair goals = mine - I often use your photos to show my hair gal what I want!!! Can't wait to try some of your favorite products, because the dry winter is brutal! Go Lanmas!! 🥰
I am on a journey to restore my scalp health so this video was very lovely to watch 🎀🥰 thank you!! And I can’t handle how cute the tree is in the back round!!! ✨✨✨
One of my fave products (total splurge, but lasts forever) is Oribe’s Supershine Moisturizing Cream. Not all luxury priced hair products are worth it, but this one is. Especially if you’re in a cold dry climate like me.
This has been such a great video considering I’ve lost half my hair due to stress. I need to get it to grow back and will try everything you mentioned 🥹
I follow the blowout professor on youtube!! Honestly he makes hair care so simple and my hair has never looked better!! I get compliments all the time now on my hair including from guys!! Love your videos so much! I selfishly wish lanmas could last forever because your videos always make my day!!!
I love that your giveaway includes anyone in the world 😊. Thank you for another spectacular gift box! I need to get one of those scalp massagers, and I had no idea that WET brush made that style of brush.
Honestly as someone who has been playing with her hair since childhood, I concur that everyone should indeed figure out what works for them specifically; there isn’t a one size fits all solution!
I was definitely in denial about hair health for years! I have psoriasis on my scalp and thought I could try everything I could find on google to fix it myself. Finally got a prescription shampoo and have never felt better about my hairs health overall! Definitely washing way more frequently than I used to, which was hard at first, but now I’m never a greasy goblin and have fresh locks every other day 🤪
I tried K18 and I have to say that unfortunately I’m not a fan….🙄🙄🙄🙄 Love the scalp scrub brush thing. Helped me a lot. Also the cold water rinse yes. Helps with the shine! The masking method I learned from you!!!! I hadn’t thought about it before. I’m growing my hair back from a lob and trying to use all the info I can get. Thank you! 🙏🏻
Some great tips here thanks and wow what a box! My long, fine, tangly hair gets wrapped in an old cotton t-shirt, use a 'Wetbrush' and loosely braid it at night.
you encouraged me to do my weekly hair wash today 😂 (and maybe consider washing it twice a week rather than once LOL) i’m living these themed giveaway boxes!!!
Hey Allana and Dan!! Hope you guys are well. I’ve been loooooving Lanmas so far! For the heat styling tools, I’ve been traveling back and forth from Europe to America for years and I just always bring an adaptor. I’ve never had a problem and they work just fine. Hopefully that helps you guys for whoever wins. Sending my love from Greece ❤
All about the Haaalth 😂One thing I’ve started with my hair is a double cleanse shampoo. I do the first cleanse using a scalp brush and the second massaging with my fingers. Not sure on the exact science but something with the micelles changes between the two washes rinsing the initial grime away with the first and foams up so much more on the second.
Hi Allana and Dejan!! Thank you, for giving us some great advice on taking care of our hair!! I stopped coloring my hair 4 years ago, so I have Silver and White Curly hair now, at age 57. I'm really enjoying my hair journey at this age, and where my hair health is right now. I had 3 major surgeries over 4 years and I lost a lot hair due to post operative trauma. A great person to follow is Abbey Yung, anith YT Beauty and Hair Content Creator. She's taking classes to know more about hair, and what all that pertains to, and become certified in it. You are so sweet and generous, to offer up this wonderful hair gift!! Thanks you two!! Také care!! ❤️
As a much older lady compared to 30 year old you, I’ve been washing the scalp area daily and just conditioning the ends for about 25 years or so! I have lots of hair, but very fine, so most often it looks like I haven’t fully gotten the conditioner out of my roots even when I have. In 2021, I spent 3 weeks in the hospital. The nurses put my hair in a bun vs. a braid (I was intubated in the icu so I literally had no say 😂). Once home, I went to shower for the first time and I had a rats nest back there. I thought I was going to have to shave my head (my hair was about your length). Thankfully my hairdresser was patient and worked magic and I was able to walk away with a bob. Sadly due to the trauma of my hospital stay etc. I started losing hair like crazy, so I had very fine and very thin hair. Now, 2 years later it’s grown many inches, but I still rock a “toddler” pony as I like to call it while new growth continues. They also discontinued my fave conditioner and I’ve yet to find one that works as well. But it’s very true how it is most certainly a case of “know thy own hair”. Everyone is just so different!!
Allana this giveaway would be amazing!! I’ve been on a hair health journey the last couple months and decided a focus for me in 2024 would be hair health! This video came at the perfect time
Wowow this was so good and this box is amazing 😍 Also not sure if this is a thing because I heard it on tik tok (lol) but apparently those scalp brushes should be used on dry hair like to massage your scalp instead of on wet hair while shampooing because it’s too fragile. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️. Ask the experts!!
I recently was in Ecuador SA visiting family and got the most glorious detox and deep conditioning treatment! My hair is still shiny and soft from the treatment. I highly recommend looking into it in your area. Love this! thanks for sharing all your findings w us! 🥰
Omg me too, I bought the silk pillowcases thinking that I would love it. But I get so sweaty at night plus just sliding, slipping pillowcase is the last thing I need when getting my beauty sleep.
I’d add include a chelating shampoo every so often. Especially if you have curly hair or love a slick back style, you’ll likely have so much product building up on your scalp. Much better than a scalp scrub imo!
Hi Allana, This year you really outdo yourself as these boxes are really amazing. Anyone who wins will be so happy with these. And of course I would be over the moon.
Love that you demonstrated the tips haha!! There’s soooo much information on the internet but it was so nice to have it talked about in a concise video thank you!!!
I switched to a silk pillowcase a few years ago, and while it definitely took some getting used to, I love it now! I switch around with brands, but right now the Quince one is my favorite!
*Frantically takes notes* my hair is in NEED of a hot girl winter transformation, it’s so dull! I’ve been taking the masking and oiling seriously over the last 6 months and it’s definitely made a huge difference, I also stopped colouring it but now the greys are coming through which I don’t love, but I’ve noticed a difference in its overall strength. It’s a journey for sure.
Lan you are so sweet to worry about plug conversions and all that, your giveaways are amazing and I am practically drooling over that Dyson and all the great prod in that box. Hair is something I struggle with, so all tips are welcome. I laughed about the wonder products claiming to give you mermaid unicorn hair , believe me if it were true I'd be running to get it 🤣. A great tip I got was to concentrate your first shampoo on the sides and nape where we tend to concentrate less effort. Then on the second shampoo go all over and definitely concentrate on the scalp and giving it a good scrub. The conditioner is best mids to ends but as you say trial and error and "know thy hair" which is the best line ever lol.
Is so funny that you mentioned the Unicorn gummies, I actually take them. I've been taking them for years by a company Nature's Bounty, it's mostly biotin. I have wavy curly hair. I can straighten it with a flat iron, but if I leave it curly and don't take these gummies I look like a wookie. I color my hair, I'm sick with Lupus, and take a lot of harsh medicine, and I use heat on my hair. My hair is pretty long and in really good shape. I know other people that take these same gummies and their hair is also doing well. They might not work for everyone, but I definitely recommend them.
I’m one of these very sensitive skin and scalp people. I, on doctors orders, take lukewarm to cool showers. I dream of hot showers lol. I love these hair care tips and will be getting right on them. Thank you for your research and sharing. ❤. Have a great night. 😊🎄

Great video! As an older woman who enjoys wearing longer hair this video is SO helpful 💕
I like that you show the box sitting by the tree it makes it feel like Christmas morning.
I love that you don’t take this too seriously 😂 because who knows with all the conflicting information 🥴 I actually recently developed eczema on my scalp so literally everything is aggravating it but I’m really interested to try the no towel wrap and cold water, wish me luck😂🤞

Please review the revlon one step styler brush? Im curious to hear your thought on it looks like it creates a very va va voom look
lanmas is my favorite time of the yearrrr ☺️🤍🤍🤍
You are such a ray of sunshine!! ☀️
I have lost a lot of hair this year due to illness, it is slowly but surely (with lots of patience, vitamins and what not) growing back. Last week I went to the hair salon for a new look and I am loving it. These products would be cherished in my new haircare routine, for sure! 🥰

Ohhhh my goodness, I’m praying for this one to gift my mom the Dyson for Christmas!! 🥰
I big tip abbey yung really promotes is putting a generous amount of oil on your ends before washing your hair to protect them from hygral fatigue!
I tried K18 and I have to say that unfortunately I’m not a fan….🙄🙄🙄🙄
Love the scalp scrub brush thing. Helped me a lot. Also the cold water rinse yes. Helps with the shine! The masking method I learned from you!!!! I hadn’t thought about it before. I’m growing my hair back from a lob and trying to use all the info I can get. Thank you! 🙏🏻
Sitting here about to start my hair routine and I see this- perfect timing and great tips
Watching this video and taking alllll the notes 📝
Some great tips here thanks and wow what a box! My long, fine, tangly hair gets wrapped in an old cotton t-shirt, use a 'Wetbrush' and loosely braid it at night.
you encouraged me to do my weekly hair wash today 😂 (and maybe consider washing it twice a week rather than once LOL) i’m living these themed giveaway boxes!!!
This video was great! Also found it hilarious, because the ever changing hair tips out there are so confusing! TY for infusing some comedy
I love the silk products and it’s what made the most difference in the health of my hair, I hope you give it a second try ❤️
Omg praying for this one!! I love those wet brushes too!
We love a hair health guide!! ❤
Allana this giveaway would be amazing!! I’ve been on a hair health journey the last couple months and decided a focus for me in 2024 would be hair health! This video came at the perfect time
These are the vlogmas videos ive been waiting for! I love the healthy living tips 🥰
Been loving lanmas!!!!
Thank you for your research!! 😍💆🏽♀️ I will definitly try a few things!
I find it so hard nowadays to find good recommendations 🤔
Wowow this was so good and this box is amazing 😍
Also not sure if this is a thing because I heard it on tik tok (lol) but apparently those scalp brushes should be used on dry hair like to massage your scalp instead of on wet hair while shampooing because it’s too fragile.
Argan oil is def a gamechanger for dry/dyed hair! ♥️
Look forward to watching your videos everyday as I get my steps in!! on the HGW train too!! ❤
Love that you demonstrated the tips haha!! There’s soooo much information on the internet but it was so nice to have it talked about in a concise video thank you!!!
What a dreamy giveaway. The hair oil is a dream!!
Girl we just can’t win with all the info that comes out. 😭😂 Considering this “Do Whatever The Frickin’ Heck I Want Hair Winter” ❄️ ✨
Love these tips, they’re really practical and something I can actually incorporate. Love that you did the homework for us
I switched to a silk pillowcase a few years ago, and while it definitely took some getting used to, I love it now! I switch around with brands, but right now the Quince one is my favorite!
Great tips for healthy hair. I have been using olive oil for more than 30 years. It is amazing for the hair
The conditioner is best mids to ends but as you say trial and error and "know thy hair" which is the best line ever lol.
ok that is the ULTIMATE hair kit.
Love JVN hair products! The styling milk has really improved my hair health, before that I wasn’t using heat protection. 💕
That's so interesting that you find the silk pillow cases "slimy"! 😃😆 I've gotten so used to mine that the cotton ones feel rough on my skin🙈
Oh yes Allana!! This is What I Needed this Winter ❤
Love your videos so much! I’m always refreshing my page to see your videos! I LOVE LANMAS ✨💫
What a beautiful and generous giveaway, thank you Allana and Dejan. I love the way you are theming your giveaways around your video, genius.
