Another Peter Cushing line that made me laugh as well as those you mentioned, after the guys wife visited the house, he assured her she could visit anytime. As soon as he closed the door 'Pack! We're leaving.' Lol
Actually, Frankenstein did kill people other than Justine in the first film. He pushed Professor Bernstein to his death (so that he could use his brain.) In the second film, he certainly engineered the prison guard shoving the priest under the guillotine's blade rather than himself. So, that's a total of three murders he committed before the events in Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed. And BTW, has anyone noticed that the fright mask that he wears at the beginning of FMBD looks startlingly like...John Gielgud?!
Though I think I personally prefer Frankenstein Created Woman, I’m even more convinced than ever that Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed is the best of the Hammer Frankenstein pictures after watching it again last night, and a film which belongs in the studio’s top ten despite being curiously cheaper looking than the usual Hammmer product.. It’s directed by Terence Fisher with much of the pace [despite being Hammer’s longest horror film it doesn’t feel like it] and flair that he helped bring to The Devil Rides Out, and contains some tremendous set pieces
I'll be honest, i'd never much been into the Frankenstein films, as you know the Hammer Dracula is my thing. Before today i had only seen that Ralph Bates one about 30 years ago. After watching this review i decided it was time for a crash course. I first re-watched the one i had already seen, and then the first 3 made with Peter Cushing. I hope to get to this in the next few days and i'll let you know my thoughts on it then, but so far my only disappointment has been waiting until i was 42 before watching them, when i was 6 when i started on the Dracula films.
I finally got around to watching this tonight. I'm not sure why it took so long. Overall i enjoyed it. I agree the rape scene was unnecessary, and out of character, and the next day she showed no extra fear or contempt for him than she had before. I still found it a fun watch though. My god, 4 of the 5 main actors appeared in at least one Dracula, Hammer really liked using the same people lol.
Correction to that last thing. Peter Cushing obviously appeared in several Dracula films, Veronica Carlson, Thorley Walters and Freddie Jones appeared in one each (you haven't seen Freddie yet). Weirdly all 4 at some point in their films were under hypnosis by Christopher Lee too, to some extent, some more than others. In Prince of Darkness for Thorley Walters it had lasted a decade.

Haha I vagely recall. I can hear him saying it in my head

Yeah good points

I didn't know that was their longest. Can't have been by a lot

Cool! Let me know what you think of each one

Freddie Jones was Sandy in Emmerdale lol.
I remember him from when i used to watch the soaps. From mad Scientist (in both Hammer films) to the dad of a village priest lol.
Love it except for the rape scene
