Excellent job mate👍 Next spring i was gonna remove the turbo and get it refurbed but i'm sure i can do the same instead for less money than the refurb like yourself. So the main inner bit is new/ like new?
@@sumo1756 Yeah the melett chra is new and pre balanced at the factory. This way I get to keep the original turbocharger housing with Volvo stamped on it. Got to keeps these cars as original as possible. I'll be changing my 850R back to original soon also.
i built cartridges as my job, you can even order rebuild kits that just comes with all new internals like the retaining rings and journal bearings. It really is as easy as it looks, the markings on the cartridge relevant to the housings dont even matter you can just clock them whatever way you want, although with this built in external wastegate setup they can really only go 1 way
Nice video man, your heavy duty retaining ring contraption was a little overkill though xD
Thanks 😊 trust me you need it, that circlip has serious tension on it. 👍
Awesome video! planning to swap a RN 4T9 and hybrid 19T into my 96 850R wagon this summer
Thanks Gabriel 👍
My first turbo , installed it on a Honda Civic 1.5i
They're great little turbos, easy to work on. 👨🔧💪👍

@850BRICK i get ya, keeping mine(99 v70 t5) original as well. Gonna contact that firm after xmas and follow your vid. Cheers mate👍
Good luck. Slow and steady wins the race. 👨🔧👍the V70 is a 16t chra I think? Btw a 16t chra won't fit in the turbocharger housing of a 13g or 15g.
@@850BRICK as far as i know it's a 16t like you said. I'm thinking they'll have the core for that. Well i hope so 👍
