- Hi guys, very short update and a big shout out to the great Lance Mindheim.
The Rails of Sheffield point motors are avaiable here: railsofsheffield.com/products...
Lance's RUclips channel is here: @LanceMindheim
And the Around the Layout Podcast can be found here: @AroundTheLayout
Nice update, Steve. I'm also a big fan of Lance Mindheim's ideas.
Thanks. I think it is always worth bigging up someone when they are that good
I am also a fan of Lance's books. His how to operate book is essential. I agree with the less is more when it comes to track. I'm building a similar size layout to yours using five pieces of flex track and two maybe three turnouts. Where I disagree with him is the less is more for structures. What appealed to me about your layout is the dense urban scenes. That's what I model as well. George Sellios and his Franklin & South Manchester is my biggest influence of packing buildings and highly over detail everything. Keep these updates coming Steve.
Cheers Dan. I absolutely agree with you about the density of structures. What I love is the hemmed in feel that I get modelling New York. It is very different from Miami and needs height to make it feel right
Hi Steve, nice short update. Speaking of planning, my grandson has started to build his 009 layout and has uploaded his first in what hopefully will be a series of occasional videos documenting his progress. In this first one, he talks about the buildings he's constructing. We're off to look at Lance's videos now... Cheers James 🙂👍
Hi James, glad you enjoyed it. I will take a look at Dylans new video. Be careful with Lance, before you know it Dylan will switch to American modelling 😅
@thebritishrailroader I'd better not let him watch it then 😂, if he does, he'll have to do that when he's older 🙂👍
Liking the t-shirt!
Cheers mate 👍
Plans, we all have them! 😃
We do indeed my friend
Look at that cool shirt!
I know, good ain't it 😉
You are thinking of what you could build in one of those homes with the huge loft, like Sam's Trains has, aren't you? 😉
I wish. My future plans are bigger, but not that big 😉
