  • The film shows views of Hallstatt, a small town in the district of Gmunden, in the Austrian state of Upper Austria, built on the steep bank of the homonymous lake (Hallstättersee).
The film opens with shots of the area. We see cars and buses of that era, a hotel with the American flag and the town’s buildings. The filmmaker with a long panoramic shot shows us a restaurant and the lake. We see swans swimming as well as boats scattered around.
The shots from the lake continue with the lens focusing on a wooden canoe and two men one of which is paddling. The camera gives us one more panoramic shot with various boats and sailboats on the lake as well as a ship carrying people.
The film closes with a little boy playing in the water and a swan in the middle of the lake.
