i have seen them 4 times and each time every preformace was unique and differnt from the others. Id heavily recommend seeing them whenever they tour next
I used to always play crazy train and then I learned sweet dreams and so now every time I try to play crazy train I can’t and I kinda forgot how to play crazy train now
I know, right!? I'm thinking seriously about trying out my virgin headphones on his riff raff here because all parts are such a master class in recording separation / hi-fidelity (without losing the warmth) Even including those fun crash splashes at the ends of Grohl's runs in "Breed" (that are split into the left and right channels on the record) tasty
So fun to listen to! I love that there's not too much talking between riffs so it feels fast paced and keeps the energy flowing. And the real drumming makes it more exciting, feels like more of a live concert.
As well as it being yet another brilliant video of brilliantly played brilliant riffs, I have to give you a shout out for the "V" T-shirt! Love it. Mike Donovan and Ham Tyler FTW!
the clarity of your bright tone sounds really captivating for all those riffs. As a guitarist I really like the diversity you do w/ your guitar especially when you get to SRV since he influences my playin to the point I use thick strings like Stevie did. Your soloing at your high frets sounds so fierce and captivating. Very interesting fusion you do of artists, cheers!
The choices made here matched with my memories over the years of listening to these riffs, man, I felt like I couldve walked through walls. No-one ever pulls Crue "Red Hot" and honestly... that riff... if there was ever a sonic personification of twisting the throttle back as you come up onto an open freeway.
I gotta say, I stumbled apon your channel watching iommi videos. I've been playing for a long time and felt as if I've kind of hit the wall persay in progression. Since finding you I've learned alot. The way you are able to break it down and make it understandable, even on simple simple riffs, is worth its weight. Thank you!!
I’d be alright if you kept doing these, I’ve discovered GREAT songs/bands I never knew about before as a direct result of this series. Thanks for that 🤟
Jump took me back to 7th grade when the slow moving music teacher allowed her friend to come with his synth and he really made my day playing that Van Halen
Jeff Beck also a killer version of Superstition with Beck, Bogert and Appice.. among several other Stevie Wonder songs, In fact he played on several of Stevie Wonders’ songs .
I have a similar Jackson to you. I have the js34q in red quilted maple with maple neck with black shark fins. Love these. May I ask what pickups yours has and do you like them? I noticed there all duncans. I have the duncan tb6 in the bridge of mine and a Wilkinson low gauss hot rail in the neck but I dont like the wilkinson personally
Lovin the Megadeth like always. Cool to see the scratches. Sounded really good. Sounds almost like a sinister laugh. Btw for the last week I've practically had heroin girl on repeat thanks to your recommendation on one of these earlier videos.thats just the most recent one but I'm definite,y gonna check some more out from this video. Sad to hear you're capping them at 10 but I'm so thankful for what you have put out!
Hey man I love your videos, I have watched quite a few. I especially love how humble you are when even when you're correcting other people in how they have broken down riffs incorrectly. With that said, you're missing a little chromatic run at the end of each of the School's Out main riffs and are instead sliding up toward the neck.
I know people don't often consider them heavy because of the symphonic element but Nightwish have some pretty killer riffs. Slaying The Dreamer, Song Of Myself, Poet And The Pendulum, and many more.
Love it as always as there is bands in there that I haven't heard of before. Also, BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!!!!! I quite like the cameras in the video it looks a bit more professional I might say. Thank you for teaching me all the little tricks and new bands and songs.
Check these out; Melt the Ice Away by Budgie, Blue's Theme by Davie Allan and The Arrows, Sucking My Love-Diamondhead, Electric Wizard- Witchcult Today
"he let me ride it around the house" - when you said that, I thought you meant like, inside the house which just sounded crazy to me a few seconds, and the coin dropped. "oh. outside the house" :D
I can’t remember if you’ve added these guys yet, but for Part 10 how about Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress) by The Hollies or something by Spinal Tap? Awesome job as usual dude, props for adding “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)”, that riff is heavy as hell and it’s awesome (the abrupt ending also adds to the whole badassery of the song)
Check out the German band Rage until 1993. Manni Schmidt is outstanding, skilled and clever guitarist and knows what to play. He’s always to the point. Check for example songs like: true face in everyone, invisible horizons, solitary man, refuge, firestorm
Out of all of Mike's guitars I like that black Les Paul with the gold hardware on it. But because I get into shredding & metal; that white Jackson would be the best for me personally. It kinda reminds me of Jake E. Lee's guitar. But Mike has a whammy on his... which I would love. But Mike is smart, he has a variety of guitars for different situations. And they're all high-end too! Sweet! For now, I'll just keep playing my 1998 Epiphone Flying V, 1958 copy! It shreds just fine but i wanna get a Jackson or ESP or something with a Floyd-Rose. I wish!!! They ain't cheap! Especially with this crazy inflation going on.
Nice t-shirt! I loved the series (I mean of course the one from the 80's). Though it made feel old seeing you with it haha. Nice riffs by the way. I love frayed ends of sanity, one of my favorite Metallica songs.
This series might be endless
I wouldn't mind
I wouldn’t mind.
I honestly hope it will be endless
I wouldn't mind
I wouldn’t mind
The frayed ends of sanity riff is probably one of my favorites of all time, along with dyers eve
What happens with "Frayed Ends..." at 4 minutes is pure ear candy. That part has always been one of my favorites.
So happy to se the frayed ends get some love and be so well played
Same
*Didn't do the whole She's So Heavy outro
Unsubscribed
*Added bass to the Frayed Ends of Sanity
Resubscribed
*Only plays the first breakdown of 5 Minutes Alone
This man is determined to send me on an emotional rollercoaster
Now really getting into Tool, I really regret skipping them on a festival last year :(
Ouch...its at least 2x as good as it is on the album
When the tours start back up you have to see them. One of the best bands to see live.
Tool is boring AF.
@@grovestreetpartner4144 eh progressive metal isn’t for everyone
i have seen them 4 times and each time every preformace was unique and differnt from the others. Id heavily recommend seeing them whenever they tour next
I never noticed that Sweet Dreams is actually Crazy Train
Funny you mention that, first thing I noticed when I just started guitar was "wtf, this is crazy train?". But I was very new and unsure. Pretty funny.
I used to always play crazy train and then I learned sweet dreams and so now every time I try to play crazy train I can’t and I kinda forgot how to play crazy train now
I was playin sweet dreams the other day and my friend asked if I was playing crazy train and I was like “:0 holy shit”
And seven nation army
At 5:37, the song is actually by the French band Trust. Anthrax just translated the lyrics (:
Not even translated, they basically made their own.
jorgito93700 it’s a better song than the original anyway lol
@@ajainc.4857 Nope
the main intro riff of Vicarious gives me the rush. love the 80s 'V' tshirt.
A lot of people don't seem to know that Anti-social is cover! The french band Trust did it first!
It's such a joy to watch you play.
Tasteful guitar tones, without excess gain/distortion with incredible clarity on your execution.
Kudos!

One of my favourite riffs is the verse riff from Megadeth's My Last Words.
Bass in this song is great!
Sweet Dreams with the fusion worked really well! :O Whole song request!
That damn Oberheim is crispy. Way crispy! haha. ;)
Ma ill keep saying it again , that freyed end of sanity riff is sooo good and underrated
Love the "V" shirt. I used to love that show
Clicked because of that classic "V" T. Stayed for the great riffs.

Good stuff!! You and your drummer finally wore different shirts!! Haha 🤣
Yes! Great work on the little diddle-ly part 〽️!
Don’t end these!!! I love seeing these every time and finding new music to listen too. It seems you enjoy it too so why stop? Love you dude

Schools out is one of my all time favourite songs ever...what a time. Cheers from Ottawa, Canada 🍁
You're an amazing musician
Man, I love the sound of your drums
I once jammed breed so hard i burned my hand by rubbing it into my tele
I play bass in a thrash band so I get really aggressive with my picking style and sometimes after a long practice/show my knuckles bleed \m/

I just realized how much Mercyful Fate intros sound like Beatles/She's so Heavy. I want to hear a version of it with King Diamond singing now😆👑💎
video just kept getting better all the way through

The born to be wild one. Pure 80s vibe
Woah! I haven’t heard The Twilight Zone in forever! I’m glad we both heard it on the radio growing up haha. And I’m only 13!
Dam man,. Is there any instrument you can't play....awesome vids!! Your vids have given me a new motivation for guitar. Thank you!!

Anthrax's Antisocial is a cover (French band Trust).

What a fantastic mix !!!! Some cool surprises in there too
Simple chords played with attitude luv it
Owner of a lonely heart goes waaay harder than it needs to 😂
Frackin' "V' man! I'm so hyped up by that shirt, I didn't even bother to watch the video yet. ;)
11:14 I just feel that you could fit the Crazy Train riff in and it would fit in perfectly.
So many great riff come to mind for this series and it can really go on forever, but the RUclips algorithm may throw you away XD
Nice V shirt. I loved that miniseries.
That was a really clean duality
Love it as always as there is bands in there that I haven't heard of before. Also, BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!!!!! I quite like the cameras in the video it looks a bit more professional I might say. Thank you for teaching me all the little tricks and new bands and songs.
that sweet dreams cover was so good that it should be full length
3:39 my favorite part of the song
Digging the visitors shirt. You must be older than you look to have been into the original V miniseries.
Yeah, that alien nazi sign took me back to the mid eighties as well! I remember the aliens swallowing mice whole... what a trip!!
I love that red flying v!
Nice "Visitors" Tee shirt!
The heavy part in My Iron Lung by Radiohead gives me such a big rush to play
Wow man these are some awesome guitar riffs right here man I love it.😃👍
Love these vids!! Thanks for all the hard work that goes into them. We appreciate it. Digging the V T-shirt as well.
I love the new drum cam

you absolutely did not have to flex on us with the drum skills on top of the guitar skills but you did and here we are
Man you're one helluva drummer 🔥
Old skool 'V' t-shirt... nice
That is what drew my attention to the video. I wondered if anyone else noticed...
It's the reason I clicked on this vid. I need to find that shirt to buy.

The flying v in the background is my dream guitar but I got a Scott Ian signature like it, and it's worth it
These are GREAT picks man!

Dude is crushing the drums....
Breed is a great song for drumming!

Respect! I love when you bust out the HELMET riffs!
Can you do a Chuck Shuldiner/Death Techniques video???
I want that V shirt!!
Love the V t-shirt!
Youre in beastmode bro. On fire! That was really cool
Love the Visitors t-shirt
This guy's living a dream.
That is the greatest shirt, ever!
Awesome video, that was a great set of songs!
5:35 it's not an A?THRAX song but a TRUST song covered by Anthrax. TRUST is a French band who never get justice and recognition 😥
I freaking love these videos
vicarious is my favourite song to play, it's so fun, my neighbours must be dead tired of it by now
Yes is pretty awesome
AOG is a Visitor? Damn lizard men are everywhere.
Here's a riff you must check out. I don't know why this song was never popular. It's a song called a To Peace by Submersed. You're welcome by the way.
5 minutes alone is one of the best breakdowns of all time, so underrated
And there’s “underrated” guy.
For #10 Farewell Tour Guitar Riffs ...OUTTA LOVE... VH
Good to see a v player. What's up my brethren? I have the Faded version. My favorite guitar
Awesome!! And love the "V" shirt!!
I see that V shirt! Great videos man.
Nice t-shirt! I loved the series (I mean of course the one from the 80's). Though it made feel old seeing you with it haha. Nice riffs by the way. I love frayed ends of sanity, one of my favorite Metallica songs.
Nice Jackson I have one to
That V shirt is awesome!!!
