So nice to see that you restored the old kitchen and the old wood. Over here, it's handled in different ways: the young people take what they can get and make it beautiful, but most of the "grown ups" (😂) wouldn't restore it but buy a new one. Costs a lot....
When I moved into my first flat I took my parents' old kitchen with me (they've had enough place to keep it for a couple of years after they got a new one). When we moved, we again took it with us! And when we moved again, into a flat that had a kitchen, some students happily got our old kitchen 😀 so that 1990s kitchen served in four different homes up to now!
