      @@smittywerbenjagermanjensen320 it's unknown why he's called "sloppy". theories are that he was either always well-groomed, his parents gave it to him because he always spilled milk on himself, or he inherited the name from his father's restaurant because his father gave free soup to homeless people and/or prostitutes (the thing I looked at used the term "tramps" and I'm pretty sure it used to be an old term for the homeless, but can also be used for prostitutes)

I doesn't matter if anyone reads it (in fact, a lot of "newspapers" are now digital only, which may be the case for the OP), the important part is the official-ness of the recognition. If the first two batters ground out on the first two pitches of an inning, the third batter knows (or is told by his manager) to NOT swing at the first two pitches, to give his own pitcher a chance to rest, and to give his teammates a chance to run to the rest room. So you will rarely see a team make 3 outs on just 3 pitches to start an inning.

    The fact that The Show couldn't even supercharge Kopech for this is sad. I guess they will never do it unless they hit a save milestone for a relief pitcher.

    Not as good as AJ Minter's 3 pitch inning. Go Braves

    That’s not a immaculate inning if he fouled of pitches

    Kopech looks like he's too good to be wasted on the White Sox. Reminds me of Ohtani when he was on the Angels.

    Kopech needs better offspeed pitches if he ever hopes to do this again. Most of the time they just sit fastball, he gives up so many HRs.

    What’s it going to cost the Padres to acquire Kopech is the real question?

  • @jorgejohnson451
    @jorgejohnson451 7 месяцев назад

    4 out of the 9 pitches were out of the strike zone. This is where Kopech’s problems start. The pitches had a lot of movement, but if those pitches are taken and called balls, Kopech loses confidence. The Sox should trade him if they can get excellent prospects.

    I'm confused. You're telling me that in 100 years, no White Sox pitcher has ever thrown 3 strike outs in a row? Someone please explain.

      Immaculate inning is 3 strikeouts in 9 pitches. Each at bat was 3 pitches. And it’s just the first of this season.

    To me, the perfect inning is three pitches and three outs. But, dang!

      @michaelsanders2655 Yeah, I agree:
      I had not ever heard that term before. I thought it would be 3 pitches to get 3 outs.
      To me, 3 pitches to get 3 outs is better than 9 strikes. (I guess the MOST Immaculate would be a reliever coming in with runners on base, throwing only 1 pitch to get a triple-play!!!)
