In this video I install Mopar rear wheel liners on my 2020 Ram Rebel. Installation is pretty straight forward but takes some finagling to get the liners in place.
I ordered these from Moparpartsgiant.com Links below to the liners.

Jeremy Lynch di you have any trouble finding a clip for the screw on the inside of the well??

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  4 года назад

MrSlinger35 finding as in replacing the clips with new or finding as in, trying to align everything and get the screw threaded?
If the former, they clips are called u-nuts and should be available at a parts store.
If the later, make sure you start at the bottom on each side to pull everything down nicely.

Jut bought my 2020 Ram Rebel after having two F-150's in a row. I love my Ram, but I must say, this is clearly a design flaw! I can see going cheap on a lower end trims, but c'mon! These should be standard on a truck with a $60k sticker. Just installed mine thanks to your video. I asked the dealer about them and they told me that they will not install them because it's too complicated and they won't drill holes in the frame due to rust concerns...HUH? After watching your video it was obvious this was not a huge deal. As I was installing mine, I found a huge chunks of dried up mud enclosing the sensor wires headed back to the rear bumper and continuing to the bumper. I had to gently break it up so I didn't pull a wire apart. Thank you for making this video and clearly illustrating the process!!!

Because of your great video my wheel well liner installation went without a hitch: thanks! In preparation for the install, I ordered in some extra 8mm panel screws and clips. Seems that step was unnecessary, because the liners came with a huge bag of extra screws and clips. I now have 22 leftover 8mm screws and 24 leftover clips. It took over four months for my liners to arrive at the local dealership. Seems RAM is way behind in either manufacturing or delivery, probably both. Anyway, my liners look awesome and the undercarriage of my truck and bed are well protected. Thanks for posting; much appreciated.

Just did mine as well, with your help. THANKS!
Yes, if you do not have the wheel lip moldings, you will need 3 extra screws per side. You should
find them at Lowe’s and Home Depot if that is more convenient.
I too was very disappointed in the quality of the plastic liners. So flimsy. So thin. So, I decided to reuse the front factory shield too. I removed 3 clips from the new liners and placed them the factory front shield. The new liner fit snugly between the factory shield and the fender lip.
    THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

Thanks this was the most informative video i found, just installed mine on 2020 1500 without flares only issue i had was on the reused ubolt had to adjust it down a bit from the plastic so it wouldnt fall off while getting everything in place. First one took 30 mins second one about 15 mins. Have to say they are flimsy but should stop the dirt and more so around here rock hitting the metal that was exposed on the gravel roads.

I just did this install..do not pull the rear wheel opening spat straight out and leave the clips in the body. Remove them with the clips attached to it by using pliers from the inside of the wheel well. If you pull them out you will bend the teeth on them which in result will cause your trim piece to not seat back properly and not line up correctly with your bumper.

My new 2021 Ram 2500 does not have the wheel well liners. I'll be buying an after market set and install them myself. I have less than 200 miles on my truck, so I'll clean up the wells and install the liners before much damage can be done. I can't believe this is how Dodge cuts corners.

I had to do the same thing for my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500, but the wheelhouse liners back then were of a much heavier gauge plastic. I've just installed these on my 2020 Ram 1500 and was really surprised at the lack of quality in this new Mopar product (found this video after I installed mine...). I suppose the liners will work, but not sure how long they'll hold up. I used the Mopar screw 6510827AA and not the 6510175AA indicated below. You can also find screws on that big Internet store that starts with an "A" that will also work. I found some M4.8 - 1.5 x 16mm screws for a BMW that worked well - not as long as the Mopar ones (I didn't have enough of the Mopar screws). For the additional needed U Nut, I found a nylon set at Autozone (Dorman Nissan Fender Liner Clips - #961-307D) ($3.99 for a package of two nuts) that worked perfect. I prefer the nylon over the steel to avoid corrosion. I have the Night Package, not the Rebel, so I needed more screws than was indicated in the video.

One would think that paying 50 60 or 70 grand they would put in these cheap plastic covers.
Makes me wonder they leave things like this out just so the truck rots and they get us to buy another.
I noticed it on a friends ford same missing parts at first I thought someone stole them but nope the manufacturer is just so fucking cheap.
