When you are singing as a witness it is so different from just entertaining and making money. These men and many of those of their generation sang to GOD's glory. Today, Jesus is just big business.
They r so many songs that r been sang but there's no songs like the original authentic gospel songs of old that pierces the heart....We give God the glory....

I first heard this on the Cathedrals farewell DVD when I was in elementary school, and my parents told me that I loved the song so much that I was walking around the house, singing this song! 😄

The Statesmen, the Blackwood Brothers and The Cathedrals these great quartets will live in infamy among southern gospel music. I miss them all but love to play their music over and over. My dad was a bass in a quartet and loved these groups. I know he and George Younce are singing together right now around The Throne. Praise God from Whom All blessings Flow.
I grew up listening to the Cathedrals! This music was the background of my childhood.
This is also wonderfully done by a choir or congragation. The church I grew up in would have the women sing one part of the chorus and the men the other. One of my favorite hynms
Yes! I do the love the congregational-- "everybody singing, not so professional" variety best, but this is good, too. Wish they double-checked the lyrics-- "making ME God's dear child." I don't mean to be picky, but there are three reasons I wish the singers (all singers) would double-check words instead of singing from memory: 1. It changes the message, even if slightly; 2. It is grammatically inconsistent. 3. There is a certain pleasure in singing something you know, whether aloud or in your mind, and hearing the words you grew up singing.

John Starnes was always amazing. I wish Gaither music would show more videos of him singing. I also would love to see him and Janet sing together. They both were part of the crusade team and sang together for years. I loved to hear them at church for all those years along with the rest of the crusade team when I was in high school and college.

It should be pointed out that everyone needs to repent. Regarding this video I cannot criticise the quality of the singing. However I personally prefer a choir version of this praise with a piano, without the gimmicks.
