  • We decided to venture out to do a little wade fishing despite the howling winds and temperament weather. The goal was to locate redfish and speckled trout, the winds had been blowing hard out of the north the whole week prior, so I knew the water would be churned up. Like I stated in the video, sometimes the only way to catch fish is to just go fishing. You can't always listen to the weather man, tide charts, solunar tables etc... As long as you are in no harm, go fishing and you will sometimes be pleasantly surprised. The lure of choice on this day was a Gulp shrimp in new penny color, I was using a 1/8 ounce jig head with 20lb vanish leader. The rod was the St. Croix Legend Xtreme and the reel of choice was a Shimano 3000Fk. If you enjoyed the video, please give a thumbs up, share and subscribe. Thank you!

      +Phaselight This was over in Fort Desoto, you fish that area?

    • @phaselight
      @phaselight 9 лет назад +2

      +Joshua Taylor (Salty Scales) once or twice a week. Last time I was there I caught a 37" red. I usually catch one or two over slot reds when I go in a particular area.

    How do you like the stradic fk in terms of durability and ability to handle salt water? Is it as good as the fj? Great video as always!

      +TheWingBlaster Thanks bud, the FK has been impressive, I accidentally dunked it on this outing and it's still smooth as butter.

    For inshore, do you like to use all braid or do you like to use braid with a florocarbon leader? If so what lb test braid do you like?

    • @Saltyscales
      @Saltyscales  9 лет назад +1

      +SCbassin I prefer braid with a fluorocarbon leader. I like 15lb braid, typically spider-wire or the original PP.

    Which Legend Xtreme inshore rod are you using, XIS70MLF or XIS70MF? I'm trying to decide between the medium-light or medium model.

      +RNshark I have the XIS70MLF but they are both great rods.
