Gage Crawley Weirdest of all that both writers were roommates and they didn't recall either of them discussing their Swampy, Mucktastic Heaping, Man-Things... Oh I heard the other day there was another swamp garbage man thing called Muck man. I only recall the Muck man from TMNT didn't consider he originated from Eastman and Laird's. I only had a couple of the reprinted reissues.
OK, I'm sold! I'm now a PATRON! And it looks like I have MANY hours of entertainment, education, and enjoyment ahead of me while I catch up with your prodigious output! I am certain that this is gonna be a fantastic journey!!
Wow! One year later….. they did it!!! They actually f*n did it and it was unbelievably incredible portrayal!!!! Werewolf By Night was one of the best Marvel productions all year!!!
Usually you're really good with these origins but I find your use of the Ka-Zar storyline really side tracking from the Man-Thing. It is literally unnecessary filler because they never meet or do anything together again. You could have included Howard the Duck and it would have made more sense.
These earlier videos are definitely less focused. They were more of a look at a character's first appearances than an actual dive into their canonical backstory. I would approach many of them very differently if I were to do them again today. Some of them could definitely use it.
@@MerryMarvelite Man Thing deserves a new video , and more shine ... I remember my brother had a classic comic where he fought the Hulk , and the Hulk could not beat him
@@MerryMarvelite Old Marvel, especially the Jack Kirby stuff, was so intertwined and convoluted that you almost have to do it like you did. maybe not for Man-Thing but others in your catalog of videos you wouldn't be able to easily isolate on character from the cosmic nuttiness all around him. Early on you seem to have favored emphasizing continuity, doing a video on one character and then having that tie to the next in a way as you did here. I think that's as valid a choice as isolating the character into a single self-contained video. Both work.
I liked the video. I will have to see if you did anything on the Mutants: Inferno series, where the demons take over the Empire State building. But my main thing is.... I always thought it was pronounced like Kah -Zar, like the word bizarre.
Fun Fact: Both Man-Thing and Swamp-Thing were based on another comic book swamp monster called The Heap.

Well he was a little too fast, and lucid… but otherwise looked great
Damn that's a well drawn comic. Like francophone adventure titles.

For god’s sake, put a shirt on.
Did it ever become public knowledge that the Man-Thing is Ted Sallis?
