The teacher uploaded a video to his TikTok account encouraging the discourse after he live-streamed the interaction during the last ten minutes of class. Some users called it "inappropriate" and "too intimate" while others defended the teacher's actions, saying they saw no issue with the request. The teacher confirmed in a later video that he was let go from his position at the school. #DishFam, was it inappropriate for this teacher to have children unbraid his hair?

    He’s their teacher! Not their friend, brother, cousin, Etc. And that’s not a barbershop! It’s a CLASSROOM! “This is why these young girls and boys do not have respect for authority, or for a better lack of words? Those in authority, because adults treat them like they’re adults, and they’re NOT!!!!” Although, terminating him I would have not done! A 3 Days Suspension would have been more appropriate.

    My issue with it is that he asked them to do it because he "didn't have time". He is in a clear position of power over them, would they feel comfortable saying "no"? Speaking as a black female former teacher of 15 years (teaching in 3 different states), also holding 2 Masters Degrees in Education, I can safely say he definitely deserved to be fired for this, possibly even arrested and sued.
    Words cannot describe the endless amount of violations he committed by this single act. And then he actually recorded it.
    As far as being arrested is concerned, he is a grown man having multiple young underage girls touching him physically (while he is a teacher, in a classroom, during school hours, in exchange for a pass he has no authority to provide these students).
    All this can easily lead to a civil suit against the school district for hiring such an idiot to 'use' what appears to be Middle school female students (very young) for his own personal gain and fame.
    Then we haven't even touched on the multiple sanitary issues being displayed here, which could also be a separate reason for filing suit.
    I am so sorry to hear that so many of my fellow black people, who may or may not have experience in teaching in public schools, could even THINK to defend this in any way.
    He deserves more than just being fired.
    I am only seeing this story for the first time today, and I was immediately mortified.
    You have to look at the BIG picture.
    He is a selfish, immature, egocentric, unprofessional representation of a grown man at work.
    For those who cannot see this, it may be time to reassess ALL the boundaries that have been broken here (without defending yet another black man based on race for a change).

      This comment could not be more true. I also have a problem with how he is making money off his content with those children in his video. Are they being compensated ? I doubt it , this man was arrogant with his response as if he was untouchable, but what disturbed me most is the Girls texting him they Love him and miss him. He literally read the text messages 🤢 and was fake crying. Are students allowed to text teachers ? That should be a crime .

    • @MariaSanchez-ck8sr
      @MariaSanchez-ck8sr 22 дня назад

      @@kayjones3187 NO! students are NOT supposed to keep in touch with teachers (text or otherwise), especially one recently fired for inappropriate behavior (and especially between adult men and young females), UNLESS it is part of an arrangement (or program) made between the school, the teachers, the parents, AND the community, FOR the SOLE purpose of extending educational resources outside the classroom.
      Remember, it takes a VILLAGE to teach and prepare students.
      This guy makes me want to vomit. This is outright 'exploitation' and abuse of power from someone in a position of authority.
      Forget paying the kids. Imagine, them being young and ignorant to germs, after unbraiding his hair (without gloves), they instantly tear into a bag of Hot Cheetos, and licking their fingers (which I saw them do constantly) with all the accumulated germs of this man's hair (not having washed it for maybe weeks) in their mouths!
      No amount of money can compensate for this kind of scenario.
      He is sooo LUCKY that the general public tends to turn a blind eye to black people's problems.
      Because IF he (and the students) had been wyte, he would be in jail, right now! (with an enforced restraining order prohibiting him from any contact with his former students).
      He is LUCKY! And you are wise for being genuinely concerned.

      I'm disgusted reading comments that ask "what if he was white". The facts are clear he is blk. Has nothing to do with race but small minds can't seem to elevate from ground level. Blk white Noone cares. He is being highly inappropriate with teenage girls. It's very easy for teenage girls to have a crush on an attractive teacher, and to misinterpret this kind of interaction as much more. Any adult male should know this. For example, what about female teachers who let kids touch their hair, should they be fired as well? He should have been given a warning, or suspension, and had there been any previous misconduct with minors, then yes he should have been fired.

    Regarding the braids...I 'd be just as upset and concerned if students were unbraiding a female teacher's hair. It is still a power dynamic where a teacher set up a scenario where the students are serving them, too familiar (doing hair while not sexual is intimate), students are attempting to win favor with the authority figure, students win special favor for non-academic reasons AND this was during class time. Students lost instructional time because the teacher had a non-emergency personal issue. I don't care if it were the last ten minutes. He could have engaged students in a good discussion, had them journal, showed an educational video. It is not his student's responsibility to help him get to his appointment. Plus how was his hair appropriate enough for a media video, but he needed it done that same day? Wouldn't you have wanted your hair done for the video?
    I'm gonna say it, he is grooming those kids...his STILL making videos and crying is another way he is manipulating kids to serve HIS needs. It is sexual grooming at worst and plain selfish/self-serving grooming at best.
    If he truly doesn't know all the ways this is wrong then he REALLY doesn't need to be an authority figure over kids because he doesn't have common sense. Why does HE need so much attention from children? From what I see , all the videos are about HIM....look at me, serve me , I am so cool, help me, console me. It is all very concerning.

    I'm curious as to what type of class they were in. Unfortunately time has changed & these individuals nowadays will complain if you wipe yo nose the wrong way. I hope he wasn't fired just given a warning ⚠ or suspected for the first week of the next school year. Whoever recorded it I'm sure they wish they hadn't because now their favorite (or not) teacher maybe gone.

      He posted this video to his own account. This was something that happened on live and people were telling him on live it was inappropriate, he then went and reloaded a video asking , what he did wrong ? And that's when the video went viral. He was warned by his own subscriber's. He is also a science teacher he should have kept it professional. Stop putting people children on the internet as well also don't text middle school girls and call them your bestie, that attention can cause problems.

    As a teacher if he got fired …. And I’m Black and male .. it was nothing wrong … BUT. As a black male teacher .. “ you should’ve known ow better” … I would never… 31 . Male . Middle school teacher … gay.. only cause of stigma .. if he is a good decent man .. nothing is wrong here .. he must be tooooooo young or tooooo trusting …

    • @ivorygr
      @ivorygr 22 дня назад +1

      He should never be able to teach again. Too young or too trusting is truly not logical reasoning for an adult male, to have hormonal teenage girls touching his hair/scalp , knowing teenage girls have crushes on attractive teachers all the time. Everyone on earth knows scalp and hair touching can be stimulating. Plus he texts and talk to them on there cells after school hrs. Can you honestly say you would be perfectly fine with your hormonal teenage daughter having this kind of interaction with this grown attractive man ? NO .

    Yeah it’s inappropriate ,teacher should have known better! you make these type of decisions and then it’s consequences to that, but I hope it don’t hurt his opportunity getting another teacher position. He could have actually been a great teacher, but made such a dum unprofessional decision to let these young girls play in his hair!

    I work in a school for kids that have been kicked out of mainstream school. My kids have some of the worst parents you can ever imagine, and they come to school because I give them the parent figure they don’t have at home. I still maintain authority and because of my nurturing behaviour I have single handily
    succeeded in getting those kids back to mainstream school. I applaud this teacher and he should have been giving raise instead of being fired. Da Brat your too damn judgemental calm yourself sis!!!

      I don’t think he meant any harm, but this is school not the barbershop or a living room. I worked at the same kind of school and we found out one of the gentleman that was in a group that monitored the children was texting them and meeting up with them…to answer your question in your head, he was not fired either smh

    • @urbanskin
      @urbanskin 23 дня назад

      @@niyah_jordan3147 Totally different the person you talk about crossed line. Education is not just about academics it’s also teaching pupils valuable lessons in life. Maybe these pupils want to go into hair and beauty and he allowed them to practice on him? Or maybe these girls may not have fathers and he is being example how men can be respectful. Those girls are gonna a remember that teacher when they get older especially if he has done nothing wrong apart for be there for them. Humanity really has no hope when good people are not recognised.

      It's inappropriate ! Stop trying to rationalize this man's poor decision. He is attractive, which matters. He has teenage girls whos hormones are all over the place touching his scalp and hair, which matters. As if teenage girls never have crushes on a teachers, and the slightest amount of inappropriate attention can be interpreted as mutual affections. As a someone who works in schools you should also be aware of this . The fact that you're ok with this means you can't be trusted around people's kids either. The Brat said what she said. Now go sit your ass in the corner .. facing the wall 😏.

    He's a young man and probably didn't see anything wrong with it. However he probably was going to get fired anyway since schools are no longer receiving pandemic funds and will be reducing staff.

      Thia man said it was a reward for his besties, did you watch the video ? He was on live people told him it was inappropriate and he continued on livestreaming then created another video because he saw nothing wrong. Also why is these middle school girls texting their teacher ? He is the problem and don't have boundaries with children. They are your students not your best friend, now teach them Science and be professional.

      Even young men know hair and scalp touching is stimulating. He's an adult male. I find the men in the comment section trying softly find excuses for this. It's predatory behavior is what it is. What father will be ok with his teenage hormonal daughter playing in a grown attractive mans hair. None.

      The LGBTQ community has nothing to do with what's clearly in your face. A STRAIGHT handsome ADULT male allowing teenage girls to touch all in his hair and scalp, which is stimulating for everyone. He even have there cell numbers . Teenage girls often have crushes on attractive teachers . Been happening even before you two in this comment section crawled out of that crab hole you call your moms womb. It's inappropriate. Simple. Dragging a community that has nothing to do with this into it is what's really pathetic.

  • @shantayoverstreet4763

    Whoever is saying this is intimate is probably one of those men who goes to get their hair braided by a female they're having sex with. Having someone take down your hair is not "intimate"! Were our Moms on some weird stuff for taking down and doing our hair? No. It was the last 10 minutes of class, in front of the class, full of kids, and they signed up to help him. There's nothing wrong here. He's not being inappropriate with them or vice versa. Firing him was an extreme and severe reaction.

    • @ivorygr
      @ivorygr 22 дня назад

      Your mom and an attractive grown man are not the same. Doesn't even make the slightest bit of sense . Scalp and hair touching is stimulating for EVERYONE . If you've never had anyone play in your hair you won't grasp the totality of there engagement. Really makes no sense explaining to you why this is so wrong. I don't think you're mentally capable of logical discernment , you compare apples to oranges . Respectfully 😇

      @finroyinvestments Take her to him by himself no. But, if she volunteered with 4 other people during the last 10 minutes of class, I wouldn't have an issue with her helping him. They're all in front of the class and nothing wrong is going on.

      Clearly this has nothing yo do with another race. Fact - He is a blk adult male. "If he was white" is so regressive sweetie. You got some unlearning to do Chica. I'm guessing it'll be a bit challenging for you. Seems your mental capacity is limited to ground level. There are clear facts in front of you but its obvious your brain was not up for the challenge, instead it decided to reach for the "what if he was white" card . The card weak minds usually have at the ready for when logical thinking becomes a burden ofcourse . Respectfully 😇
