The general name must have been Mahmoud (a derivative of Muhammad, other variants Ahmad from the root word MHD) His birth name is Alessandro Mahmoud with an "ou". But adorably he stylized his name as Mahmood (with a double o) making him so unique and apart from the tens of millions of Mahmouds in the world.

The "problem" with Italy is that we don't choose the song thinking for Eurovision, Mahmood and Blanco wrote the song not thinking about the contest but they just wanted to produce it. And to be honest I like that it is less manufactured

I have never heard two voices harmonize so perfectly before this song. We know Mahmood is a superstar. He's 29 and arguably will be in his prime for many years. Blanco turns 19 next week and has done so much for himself. Sky is the limit for both of them. I hope they win.
You should absolutely revisit the song in its official music video..... Many reservations will be elevated and make the song even more impressive. Of course there are brief intros to Mahmood's male love interest and a much shorter clip to Blanco's female love interest. But that's not all..... We are introduced to an intriguing piano player character that will play an important part in Turin, yet another absolute sweet heart on top of beautiful Mahmood and Blanco.
The final shot shows Mahmood and Blanco together keeping things open to interpretations by the viewers. Somehow you feel their desperations with their respective love affairs draws them closer together, like when souls meet to console each other and possibly helplessly fall into each other.... But that's my interpretation of the video .... I mean Toy and Goy, you SHOULD react to the music video.... You SHOULD. By the way, it already has more than 11 million views and is esthetically fabulous. Kudos to the director. BLANCO is a huge eye candy on film!
You need to update the video description, he is not "Blanco cantano" he is just Blanco. "Cantano" is italian for "they sing", as in "Mahmood and Blanco sing Brividi".
If you are going to fix things, I read that BLANCO is stylized in all capital letters. So in fixing Cantato perhaps Toy and Goy could reflect BLANCO in all caps...
the lyrics are fantastic, almost a poem... what I like about the performance is the connection they have. you can believe that they are two lovers, or two friends who tell their story... it depends on the listener... not sure if they will win, but will on top for sure...

This is a song about two men who aren't comfortable expressing their emotions, esp. when it matters most. And without even understanding the language, we feel that. Thank you guys for doing that. Song is about the fear of keep failing while trying to love someone. In a "universal way". So it does not really matter whether you are talking to a girl or a guy since the fear is the same. And it is very common, something everybody can relate to despite who they are loving.

@@ToyAndGoy Yeah i know, Blanco said that he wanna keep it 100% in Italian but Mahmood said that they could do what Francesca Michielin did in 2016; 50% in Italian and 50% in English. I think it’s because Mahmood thinks that countries who sing in english have more possibilities of winning than countries that sing in their native language, and i mean.. can we really blame him? I'm not a ballad lover, the first time i listened to it i began like "meh", the second verse was too much of a repetition for me BUT is undeniable they have a way of singing together that harmonize the two of them perfectly, they are enchanting, and there is a urban touch in it that keep it interesting.

They harmony soooo well together. Blanco has such an angelic voice even though he usually is a rapper! I would have never thought that he could sing that well (or at least being so good at doing anything else than rap). Mahmood was VERY clever to pick him. He chose wisely. Perfect duo.
The power of music. Without understanding the lyrics you got the meaning right. It is a song about two fragile men, not able to express their feelings towards their love interest, it doesn't matter if straight (Blanco) or gay (Mahmood). In this song you never hear the word “amore” (love),because is about a general love that you can not say if is refered to a man or a woman,is just pure and simple. They are not a couple, and not both gay,they are only 2 friends singing about how difficult is to express the true feelings that you have to the person you love. I suggest you to react to other Blanco’s songs, and I give you a bit of context. He is really young, he’s now 19 and his first hit dropped in 2020, "Notti in bianco". Then he released other great songs like "Paraocchi" and "Ladro di fiori" but caught the attention of all Italians in January 2021 with "La canzone nostra" (that song is a masterpiece). He had the most popular song of summer 2021 here in Italy with ”Mi fai impazzire" ft Sfera Ebbasta. He finally dropped the album in September, "Blu celeste" that was a huuuge success. (I suggest you to react to the album, he’s a great one, also considering his young age)

Was waiting for 4 reaction like Xmas :-) it’s a modern ballad, not easy to be sung, intimate and with a deep meaning… I do understand why you don’t see it topping the Eurovision but Italy does Sanremo without thinking about the Eurovision l, it’s the national song contest that pre-exists the Eurovision ;-) having said that it has been a grower also to me… I started with an ‘it’s ok’ and now I am crying each time because I can relate to it, to what they are singing about. It’s a showcase of Italian music, its always has good and weird and bad acts for all tastes. The reason why our entries are always so different is that it’s just a sign of what Italians like, rather than what we think would do well internationally. And one might think that that’s an annoying thing for a country to do, however I think it’s what makes the last few years so monumental. For young queer youths to be winning every year a festival rooted in 7 decades of sexist hosts, homophonic comedians, and within the context of Italy's broader backwardness in these areas, it’s truly a wonder and a sign of change that makes me hopeful for my country

Toy is not the only one shedding tears in reaction videos to this song, I've seen 4 reaction videos so far where the response was quite intense..... I can really see a lot of women resonating to this song in Turin because of 2 men allowing themselves to be emotionally vulnerable.
IMO judging a ballad (music + LYRICS) without listening to its meaning is not a great way to react. It would be similar to judge a painting being not able to see colours.
The fact is that San Remo is not a festival for Eurovision, but it is a festival of Italian song and we Italians of Eurovision do not care much. We have our songs that do not have a clishe, ranging from rock, to opera, to pop, to dance, etc ... etc...

Just me doing this rewatch of all of your Mahmood's reaction and noticing just now that this is the only song by Mahmood that you reacted to in which you both like also the featuring artist. I really hope one day you'll give a chance to Blanco's songs, he has some really good ones like "Ladro di fiori", "Blu celeste", "Paraocchi", "Notti in Bianco", "Mi fai impazzire", all of them have a music video, but i really really suggest you to take a look to his sentire album called "Blu Celeste" it is just amazing, no featuring artist, just him and nobody else singing. I was really affraid of your reaction because we often don't agree but seeing tears in your eyes was something I also experienced listening to it for the first time (and second, and third, and 100th no joke). Also, I just wanted to add that you should check the music video as well, it's so pretty and although I prefer the song live I feel like Blanco's verses have more punch to them there. And it's like Mahmood's official coming out video, no symbolism, no metaphors, just him with a lover
Also, it is such a shame that you had to cut the video because of copyright, I saw it when you posted the first version and the final chorus was really something amazing when Blanco grabs Mahmood's jacket, this moment will seat forever in Sanremo history, I know

I have never heard two voices harmonize so perfectly before this song. We know Mahmood is a superstar. He's 29 and arguably will be in his prime for many years. Blanco turns 19 next week and has done so much for himself. Sky is the limit for both of them. I hope they win.
You should absolutely revisit the song in its official music video..... Many reservations will be elevated and make the song even more impressive. Of course there are brief intros to Mahmood's male love interest and a much shorter clip to Blanco's female love interest. But that's not all..... We are introduced to an intriguing piano player character that will play an important part in Turin, yet another absolute sweet heart on top of beautiful Mahmood and Blanco.
The final shot shows Mahmood and Blanco together keeping things open to interpretations by the viewers. Somehow you feel their desperations with their respective love affairs draws them closer together, like when souls meet to console each other and possibly helplessly fall into each other.... But that's my interpretation of the video .... I mean Toy and Goy, you SHOULD react to the music video.... You SHOULD. By the way, it already has more than 11 million views and is esthetically fabulous. Kudos to the director. BLANCO is a huge eye candy on film!

Thank you guys for doing that. Song is about the fear of keep failing while trying to love someone. In a "universal way". Didn't like Maneskin last year, but this is a song I can get behind. I prefer ballads more than rock music anyway.
I suggest you to react to other Blanco’s songs, and I give you a bit of context. He is really young, he’s now 19 and his first hit dropped in 2020, "Notti in bianco". Then he released other great songs like "Paraocchi" and "Ladro di fiori" but caught the attention of all Italians in January 2021 with "La canzone nostra" (that song is a masterpiece). He had the most popular song of summer 2021 here in Italy with ”Mi fai impazzire" ft Sfera Ebbasta. He finally dropped the album in September, "Blu celeste" that was a huuuge success. (I suggest you to react to the album, he’s a great one, also considering his young age)

Thank you for your reaction! Just to clarify, Sanremo is independent and not a festival to select entries to Eurovision. It’s a showcase of Italian music, its always has good and weird and bad acts for all tastes. The reason why our entries are always so different is that it’s just a sign of what Italians like, rather than what we think would do well internationally. And one might think that that’s an annoying thing for a country to do, however I think it’s what makes the last few years so monumental. For young queer youths to be winning every year a festival rooted in 7 decades of sexist hosts, homophonic comedians, and within the context of Italy's broader backwardness in these areas, it’s truly a wonder and a sign of change that makes me hopeful for my country

Toy is not the only one shedding tears in reaction videos to this song, I've seen 4 reaction videos so far where the response was quite intense..... I can really see a lot of women resonating to this song in Turin because of 2 men allowing themselves to be emotionally vulnerable.
IMO judging a ballad (music + LYRICS) without listening to its meaning is not a great way to react. It would be similar to judge a painting being not able to see colours.
The fact is that San Remo is not a festival for Eurovision, but it is a festival of Italian song and we Italians of Eurovision do not care much. We have our songs that do not have a clishe, ranging from rock, to opera, to pop, to dance, etc ... etc...

Just me doing this rewatch of all of your Mahmood's reaction and noticing just now that this is the only song by Mahmood that you reacted to in which you both like also the featuring artist.
I really hope one day you'll give a chance to Blanco's songs, he has some really good ones like "Ladro di fiori", "Blu celeste", "Paraocchi", "Notti in Bianco", "Mi fai impazzire", all of them have a music video, but i really really suggest you to take a look to his sentire album called "Blu Celeste" it is just amazing, no featuring artist, just him and nobody else singing.

I was really affraid of your reaction because we often don't agree but seeing tears in your eyes was something I also experienced listening to it for the first time (and second, and third, and 100th no joke). Also, I just wanted to add that you should check the music video as well, it's so pretty and although I prefer the song live I feel like Blanco's verses have more punch to them there. And it's like Mahmood's official coming out video, no symbolism, no metaphors, just him with a lover
Also, it is such a shame that you had to cut the video because of copyright, I saw it when you posted the first version and the final chorus was really something amazing when Blanco grabs Mahmood's jacket, this moment will seat forever in Sanremo history, I know
