    It was great to see you all back in the Sierras, and Amelia is getting so big! Reminded me of when we went up with our friends' families and their kids when they were little. My son learned how to fish at Convict Lake and the Owens River. Flash forward forty years, and he and I still go fishing up there together twice a year. Amelia will grow up with a deep love of the Sierra, and will be your fishing companion for life. Fishing together forms unbreakable family bonds. Love watching all of you up there. We were there last month and caught a lot of fish, too. Great video! I know how hard it is to take trips once you have little ones.

      It’s feels great to be back out there. It’s always a good time with family and friends. That’s great to hear that you and your son continued the tradition of going out there every year. That is my hope as well. As you said, it is definitely a challenge taking trips now with the new addition to the family. Haven’t been able to take as many trips as I’m used too. Thanks for watching the videos! Any plans of fishing anywhere else this year? I saw that big bear is having a healthy stocking before their fishing derby.

      I do want to go fishing this winter before the Sierra season opens next year. Either Big Bear or Lake Gregory, or even the local park lakes in LA County, that is, if the DFG even stocks them this winter. They didn't stock at all last winter.

    It has been a long time since I fished with little ones. My children are in there 40's. We did take them fishing when they were 4 & 2 at a local lake where they caught their first trout. We later when on camping trip and fishing trips as they grew. When they are small you have to keep one eye on them at all times. Thanks for the video. I love Virginia lakes.

      Thanks for watching! I completely agree with you on having to keep your eye on them at all times. I’m usually chasing her around the whole time, hard to get any fishing in 😆.

    Another great video. Soon, Amalia will hold trout in both hands! Love the end of day dinner segment. My son (marine) was in a baby cradle at edge of Lake Mary at one year old. Cherish that photo.

    One of my favorite spots. I've fished at that exact spot before. If you can float tube to the middle of the lake, the action is non-stop on some days.

      @ExploreNaturesCatch  11 месяцев назад +2

      Same here, love fishing that area. I miss bringing out my float tube. It’s just been tough because the little one. I did just purchase a pretty big inflatable boat so I’ll probably start taking that out since everyone can fit in there. Have you been fishing anywhere lately?

    • @EdMatulac
      @EdMatulac 11 месяцев назад

      @@ExploreNaturesCatch I understand about the space for the float tube. I sold mine several years ago to get a 2 man inflatable kayak. Mostly use it on the larger lakes, like June lake. My kids are bigger now, so they also have SUP's that they like to use as well. Unfortunately, we haven't been out fishing this summer. I am planning to get out to see the fall colors in the Eastern Sierras. I also want to visit Julian and Lake Cuyamaca. I haven't been out that way in too long...

      Same here, always a must visit for us. We are usually there in October but doesn’t look like that is going to happen this year, so have to settle for more local lakes. Are you going out there soon?

    I’ve been watching your videos for a while. I love seeing your family grow and how you’re both able to incorporate your passion for the outdoors. The fishing life is amazing! You’re showing the serenity that the mountains provide and there’s something pure about bringing up kids away from the normal routine of city life and its distractions. Thank you for sharing. I hope I'm able to still able to incorporate similar adventures with my own kids ~ who are a little older (young 20's :), but while we have small windows of time. ⛰️💦💧🐟🎣🤙🏽

      Thank you for being with us this whole time. The fishing and outdoor life is definitely amazing. It’s always a nice breath of fresh air spending time in the mountains with the family and away from the busy life. It’s been quite the blessing adding baby Amelia to our family. She seems to love it out there too. I hope you and your family get to spend some time together out there as well. Thanks for always tuning in to our videos. It means a lot. See you out on the lakes!
