      Definitely a worthwhile place to check out. Don't forget nearby. There are other options like Lundy and Bridgeport reservoir. Great place to base camp. Appreciate the support

    I love the Virginia Lakes Basin. The back country lakes are an excellent way to practice fly fishing.

      Yeah its a great opportunity to practice fly fishing with how aggressive those fish are back there. Great comment 👍

    Mono Lake is pronounced Moe-Know 😉 Great video, gonna have to check this spot out! Normally we just drive straight past it and head up to Twin Lakes, but Virginia Lakes seems great!

    I fished Trumbull and these lakes last year. Little V had signs "No fishing the inlet"

    • @TroutWest
      @TroutWest  8 месяцев назад +1

      That's interesting, there are zero special regs for that area...If I see that sign, It will end up in the trash.

    The resort pays to plant additional trout and they take care of this lake better than the government. Just pay the $5 launch fee and know that you are contributing to one of the best fisheries in the sierras. Also, do yourself a favorite and go to the resort for a slice of pie. Dont wait too long because they sell out every day.

    • @TroutWest
      @TroutWest  8 месяцев назад

      The extra fish come from the Bridgeport Fish enhancement and other sources too, The owners of that resort aren't very nice. There are huge write ups you should probably read.. .I personally won't be giving them a dime for any reason. They lost my business with their terrible attitudes. They are constantly attacking legal anglers, and that doesn't fly with me. Read up wonews.com/perspective-eastern-sierra-trout-stocking-issues-reaching-boiling-point/

      @@TroutWest... You must have launched your tube without paying !!! I've known Carol & John for almost 40 years, they are the best, to those who respect the resort, remember, it's a privately owned resort !!! and the parking lot is NOT public !!!

      @@TroutWesttruth is it’s my favorite spot of all time I just hate that now everybody sees this just trying to scare off the trashy fisherman that don’t respect outdoors , I run into these articles exposing these hidden gems all the time only to see idiots rushing to these pristine sites only to flood them with lawlessness and garbage!

    • @TroutWest
      @TroutWest  10 дней назад

      The reality is these areas have been pretty busy for a long time... There's nothing hidden with Google maps in play. Also, with the internet trout plants are easily tracked..... Virginia Lakes Basin is constantly on those list. I understand people want to go on vacation and fish and not see anyone there but that's just not reality, especially in California with the population we have and accessibility to the information to find these places. The energy needs to be spent on the youth... Them to respect and enjoy it. Not trying to hide it or trying to keep it a secret place which it will never be.
