    So sorry to hear that 2024 was such a difficult year for you. My sincere wishes that 2025 will be kinder.
    Thank you for all the informative and thought provoking videos you have created this year - they're a real highlight that adds considerable pleasure to my model collecting hobby. Your voice has come to have the familiarity of a friend! And such a good idea to take the time to look back and remind us of the (second) sauropod heaven of the last year. Sometimes it is too tempting only to look forward to new releases rather than take joy in what has come our way. Your Ademar Argentinosaurus is a marvel of artistry - such a wonderful scheme that captivates the eye. And you reminded me I hadn't bought the PNSO Camarasaurus - it's now winging its way to me!

    Massive thanks for another year providing without doubt the definitive prehistoric figure review channel. Your reviews are the first port of call for objective technical assessment of new figures, but always delivered with passion, excitement, enthusiasm and humour. Like many other supporters I'm sorry to hear that 2024 was not a great year for you and I wish you all the best for 2025 and for all the exciting new dinosaur figures we collectors can look forward to. Enjoy!!

    And 2025 may be another year of the sauropods. First pictures of the still unpainted Brachiosaurus have appeared and vampiredesign who works for Haolonggood (he is in charge of the designer editions) has confirmed that both Brachiosaurus and Concavenator will be released quite soon. The pictures clearly show the slightly longer torso that is typical for Brachiosaurus altithorax compared to Giraffatitan, so this questions seems answered. This of course leaves the possibility open that Haolonggood could still make a Giraffatitan at a later time. And who knows what else they have in store for us. Maybe we know more after 6 January when the Hong Kong Games and Toy fair will have started.

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  10 дней назад

      I totally agree that if HLG can make a Giraffatitan and pay attention to those differences that differentiate it from Brachiosaurus, it would really add another sauropod to this year. Meanwhile though, there's still the W-Dragon Giraffatitan!

    It took awhile but I finally received my HLG Argentinosaurus.
    I was expecting a large box but this was only a foreshadowing of the contents.
    Your past comparison video did show the HLG figure with the PNSO Huangatitan but the perspective must have been off.
    The Argentinosaurus was so much more massive.
    I honestly unpacked the figure, inspected it, then put it up on the shelf.
    I've walked past it several times.
    Haven't gone back to pick it up again, yet.
    I've lifted weights for decades although I've slacked off the past 10 years.
    This mother is HEAVY.
    I'm going to go back to it tonight but I needed to give it space for a couple of reasons.
    It showed up on my birthday and that's, currently, not an easy time for me.
    I will end with this:
    go to Dan's Dinosaurs or another venue that isn't going to gouge you for almost $500 like eBay or AliExpress.
    Get this figure.
    You will not be disappointed.
    I'm still stunned.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thanks for all the wonderful videos this year! Beautiful to watch and I learned so much too! Except for the Argentinosaurus (maybe one day), I also have all of these 2024 sauropods, each in two color variants. The one older sauropod I don't have that you brought up is PNSO's newer Mamenchisaurus. I have their first sculpt. But when you displayed their newer one with HLG's brown Mamenchisaurus (which I have), just like you, I thought it looked really good as a juvenile to HLG's adult. So, I might just have to pic that one up now. (It's all your fault! Lol!)
    BTW, I saw a glimpse of what I thought were some unfinished HLG Brachiosauruses that were looking very promising! Looking forward to that one and all the rest of the new figures of 2025! Cheers! 🥂🍾

    I’m kind of regretting getting the spotted brown argentinosaur over the bluish pink one. The spots seemed less pronounced in the photos and it doesn’t seem to fit with my other dinos. I think part of it is that large animals normally have bland coloration, though I suppose my spotted one might be a male trying to get some stinky on his dinky so is showing off.

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  10 дней назад

      That is one thing that will affect you if you think about realism, based on extant animals. So much pigment on such a large canvas require a lot of things coming together. But I'm glad that at least till now, HLG has given us one variant of each sauropod that is more conservatively coloured. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for their recently-announced Brachiosaurus. That one you either love or hate!

      @@DinosDragons I ordered the brown one because I felt that the contrast between the green or blue and the brighter almost white areas on the two other versions is too stark. This appears a bit like the good old squiggles that Haolonggood used to love so much.
      The prototypes that were revealed yesterday look actually not that much better than the examples that were displayed at the Hong Kong toy fair.
      I have however a few minor issues with this Brachiosaurus. The figure despite the correction of the height that was announced today (we knew already that 48 cm high could not be rue) still feels a bit too large.
      I made my usual very rough estimate of the through centra length and this came out as approximately 74 cm, not accounting for the sidewards turn of the tail and head. This would be 26 meters. Brachiosaurus is estimated as 24-25 meters. Not totally impossible, but feels a bit large in relation to Alamosaurus.
      The other issue are these teeth which are not consistent with the fact that they gave this Brachiosaurus a ramphotheca. I may send him for tooth extraction to my trusted customizer.
      Nevertheless, this is overall a very nice and largely accurate Brachiosaurus model and it it is a massive improvement over anything that is currently available. So in view of this the little issues can be easily accepted.
      Only question that I still would have to Haolonggood is: What happened to the Einiosaurus? Was it eaten by Majungasaurus or Concavenator in Haolonggoods very own Jurassic Parc?

HLG does occasionally sell elevated versions of their models, such as their Daspletosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, and now the Dilophosaurus. They are on a larger scale though!

    • @thomaswagner1135
      @thomaswagner1135 17 дней назад +1

      It seems that the Alamosaurus was produced and then packed and shipped in a quite rushed way. My copy had serious paint defects to the point that I got a replacement and I heard something along this line from others. I think they were packed up when the paint had not completely dried up or they painted some paint layers over layers that had not completely dried. My first one smelled very strongly from paint when it arrived. This however disappeared completely after a week or so. Sometimes I am also not sure if Haolonggod applies a coat of primer before they paint their figures. On some smaller figures you sometimes see the plastic shining through. Not sure if this is the same issue with the sauropods.
