Oh, and in case you were curious, I recorded a few episodes of this series ahead of the Fallout 4 update, so we're safe from the Broken Mods thing up to late May. If everything's still broken at that point... Well, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
i wonder if fallout london is broken as well and if it works by then.
Thank you for the foresight! This has evolved into one of my favorite series of yours I've watched. Hopefully, mods will be repaired by the end of May 🤞
Great episode, as always!✌
Not sure if the same works for FO4, but for Skyrim Steam does retain previous versions of the game available for download, though it takes some digging in the settings to get to it
There is a downgrader available just in case your mod list does end up broken by the update
If you wind up needing to, you can downgrade the game to pre-next-gen-update, there's guides and automated tools on nexus mods.
This series about a settlement mod is now 150% the length of Far Harbour and Nuka World combined.
There's at least 30 more episodes to go.
@@MadSpectre47 Pretty sure this is the end of chapter 1 or the very beginning of chapter 2. There is a lot more to go. But he didn't say he postponed going to Gunner plaza until SS2 was updated.
@@aakla I guess it depends on how you count but we have seen most of the narrative chapter 2 content; all that's left is potentially several in-game months of building up HQ.
@@romanw6636 hmm I guess I'm remembering it wrong. I thought you got the GNN at the start of chapter 2. And most of the 2nd chapter was cleaning. It's been a while and I played when it first came out so maybe I'm misremembering.
It feels more like a complete game expansion than a settlement overhaul at this point
Can I just say I absolutely love how many "stay quiet" options are in this mod's quests. Like sometimes you are there to help but you aren't the star of the show or you aren't the one who's business it is to decide everything. It feels so nice that the NPCs are given that much room to breath and lead for a change, especially in situations where it clearly makes sense to just let them speak.
Aiden calibrating the lasers sounds like a Turian way of ending a conversation. haha 😄
Or that he needs to go return some video tapes.
I can't believe Jon didn't mention this blatant reference in the video...
Preston Garvey: Hey I know this is only the third time we've talked but I decided you are now the leader of the minutemen.
Jake: Hey I realize we've only known each other for several months and we've saved each other's lives several times, and I hope I'm not being too forward, but would you like to be in charge?
Sim Settlements takes its time telling a beautiful story and Bethesda could learn a thing or two from this mod's creators!
Maybe that's why FO5 is going to take so long. What? I can dream.
I always find stuff like this as being somewhat unfair. It’s not like Bethesda don’t know that that would make more sense but they’re focusing on making an entire game of which the Minuteman plotline is just one small part.
Of course the mod entirely focused on its own story and doesn’t have to worry about anything else can spend for time and focus on stuff like that.
@@jonasquinn7977oh come on, Bethesda are big boys and know how to make proper stories. Don't excuse or celebrate mediocrity.
@@LyonTheGreat I’m not, I just think it’s kinda disingenuous to act as if the two things are all that comparable.
Also, how lucky is Jake to be able to tell his lawnmowing with a weedwhacker metaphor to the one human being in the Commonwealth who would understand what a weedwhacker is. Or grass.
I laughed at that myself 🤣
Seriously, though, how would Jake even know to make that metaphor 🤔
I thought the same thing also. I'm curious how Jake knew about those two items, actually!
There are Weed Whacker/Strimmer models in game so the idea that someone has a functioning one isn't too far-fetched.
Through in reading some copies of Picket Fences and i can see the analagy working to a degree, just not in conversation with a firearm fornicater like Aiden. That man would likely try to mow his lawn with an assault rifle
@@garmtpug Considering what a big deal they were pre-war, there's probably magazines about lawn care all over the place that everyone who can read has read at least once. We irl use more-or-less anachronistic farming metaphors in regular speech too, including ones that we only know because they're in the Bible.
@@DemonMankeyMan I mean, a flamer or laser weapon would be pretty efficient at removing the weeds. And the grass, and the flowers, and the bugs, and the walls of the house...
lol at Lena just slowly clipping through the wall from 18:20 onward
The voice acting in this mod is surprisingly good. Well done to the team that put this together.
It's better than a lot of the main game.
Hell, they got people that both use Boston slang and sound like they're from Boston.
It's wicked good.
@@shanehudson3995 Definitely. The only thing that makes you notice it's a mod is the variable quality of the actors mics and mic setups and that it's not consistent across performers. You get that sometimes in AAA games, but rarely. Mostly those in dev during covid lockdown. It's not a huge deal though, and the actual acting and writing (and plot) is either as good or better so far then the core game.
The voice acting is great, but the fact that they've had to use existing voice lines from the protagonist can really ruin the immersion. Obviously, there's not a whole lot they could have done without using AI to generate new voice lines.
@@naethanc764 I think it's a good attempt. They did well with the tools they have.
Episode opens with Jon lecturing the CPD on not killing people, immediately followed by Jon killing a Gunner who was cowering in a corner with his hands up. Maybe *literally anyone else* would be a better person to give the CPD advice.
6:30 - "...there might be something nasty enough around here to bring down two cocking Vertibirds..."
Like what, a potato gun with a little extra cooking spray?
Or three grains of salt.
TONIGHT! Lena gets stuck in a wall! Ingram goes for a hike! And Mayor Bob takes over the BBC!
I love these so much 😆
We need someone to edit a Bottom Gear video about either Mayor Bob's exploits, or the various going ons of different characters of Jons, like Useless Steve, P.D. Shoot, the various Evil Jon...
Simon furiously reading Elisher his Miranda rights was great and really in-tune with his character -- he REALLY wants to kill this guy, you can tell, but he is going to try and stick to his principles, darn it. And then Elisher forced his hand (well, Bob's hand) anyway. Welp, you tried, Simon. And yes, I would love to see what the hell Mansfield makes of the new HQ. Looking forward to that next week!
That Comm Array looks like part of the TARDIS from Doctor Who.
I got the same vibes. Maybe David Tennant's Doctor's TARDIS console? Still, cool design 👍
Jon is going to LOVE running HQ. The mechanics are far above those of settlement-building.
AND....he gonna have many a true nerd to help him!
Something nasty enough to take down 2 vertibirds could be a radroach
I like how the head of the Hellhound Gunners has a Minutemen hat painted red. The Gunners are, at least originally, heavily tied to the Minutemen. It is very possible he was a Minuteman before becoming head of the Hellhounds.
30:40 "Have you ever tried to use a weed-whacker to mow some grass?" Yes, this is definitely the first metaphor a man who had grown up in an irradiated deathscape would have reached for.
This mod is better than the update
I don't know if it was from a mod I added or vanilla and I just never saw it before, but has anyone else ever had a random encounter where some bad guys (could have been raiders or gunners or even drunk wastelanders) steal a vertibird and the Brotherhood chase after it shooting until they bring it down? Because that happened when I was playing the other day. It was awesome. LMAO
Kudos to the brotherhood for making up for their logistical error last misson. They sent you a Legendary Sargent. They've never sent me a Legendary Sgt. And I've done way more for them then you have here so far.
Anywho, ty Jon this has been my go to series. Hope you n the rest of MATN have a gr8 day.
Oh Lordy, those two guys think Mayor Bob would be a good leader.
This episode highlights why I have the "Airship homebase as it nets you a vertibird you can keep forever and just have to remember where you parked it.
Damn, that sounds so much cooler than the grenades. Like having a car in Fallout 2
Good afternoon Jon! Thanks for another video in this series, I really enjoy it :)
Man, as perks go, idiot savant is super OP.
The trade off is staying out of any science upgrades.
The only problem is that you have to specifically not put points into intelligence, and there are so many good perks in that tree. Idiot Savant really is OP in the early game, but even with high intelligence, it does still trigger occasionally. Someone did the maths and apparently an int of 6 is the sweet spot, you're sufficiently high in the int tree to get most of the useful perks, but not so high that Idiot Savant stops triggering.
You rock bro! Really dig your commentary with your play through. Thanks for the entertainment.
(11:50) I presume the smaller cell is the interrogation room by the offices.
(13:50) The evidence locker? They want to lock up a prisoner in a room with a bunch of weapons and chems?
(15:10) Why are so many of the Hellhounds wearing Minuteman hats?
(17:53) Are we sure the Fingerless Gloves don't occupy the Wedding Ring slot?
Jon: Vitirbirds are like tissue paper.
Also Jon: I should get away from whatever badass that’s capable of downing two virtibirds…
"I should get away from whatever badass has downed two vertibirds..."
Me: A stiff breeze???
@wsconsn: can't spell vertibird
@@johncitizen306 : calls out dyslexic people for spelling errors.
@@wsconsn yes because giving them a pat on the head and a reader-writer just helps so much
@@johncitizen306 well here’s your gold star ⭐️ if you get enough of those teacher will get you an extra juice box at recess.
Take the massively underappreciated ghoulish perks.
Rads are easy to find if you're looking for them, so it's basically a free heal anywhere, and far quicker than solar powered. Radioactive food heals you more, and if you avoid aqua boy/girl, swimming is a free heal, too. 40 points of rad protection and you're shrugging off the glowing sea.
The chief of the hellhounds drops sweet looking underarmor and hat!
oh nifty, he took it
Sniper with scoped shotgun.
Time is important and lives are on the line.... but let's stop and cook some food first.
You're lucky this episode survived your update Bethesda, or we'd be rioting to your doorstep right now...
22:15 No better Settlement on the map than Spectacle Island for witness protection ;-)
Well Jon only recorded so many episodes ahead. There's still time for the update to have delayed the series.
@@donovanfaust3227 I'm aware. His preparedness delayed their inevitable gnoming,
I'll bring the pitchforks, you bring the torches 😅😆
It'll be interesting to see where the mod storyline goes from here and what happens to the rest gunners
I wonder if the HQ will lead into becoming a city on the outside. One with districts with the HQ at the center. Would be neat.
Sunday!
I do love how Jon just walked away at the end while Jake was still talking. I wonder if Jake's last name is Garvey.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one....
I really love this series!
The second rank of sniper reminds me of And Stay Back so so much
13:36 or so. Jon goes sniper elite mode for a kill.
.... are people in the nuclear apocalypse particularly concerned with lawn care?
Jon you should get MacCready’s affinity perk. Would make using vats even better when aiming at the head.
Was that the one that was broken as Hell?
@@nessesaryschoolthing it used to be. It was fixed after update 1.3
@@Mysmarttelevision1989 Ah, right
Lt. Ralph is the Fist of the Gunners.
The HQ is mind blowing the amount of work involved an its just a mod
Nice video and all, but theres a settlement that needs your help. Here, i'll mark it on your map.
🤣🤣
Vertibirds are exploding...
During my first playthrough i had a vertibird just randomly crash on top of me.
I watched someone else play this through and getting the HQ in decent shape and recruited is a big job! I'm curious how Jon will handle this.
The Mayor Bob x Jake romance is strong. Especially with the music that plays when they speak
If this were official Bethesda content, Lena would have just stormed off or tried to shoot everyone in a rage.
Did they finally fix the CPD quest in Sim Settlements 2? Always avoided that because it would always bug out at random points.
A Hobbit child with a sling could take down two vertibirds. They are deffo not Apaches.
Wonderful image, thank you.
Jon! Did you really miss a Garrus reference from Aiden!?
You're slipping, man!
Any chance you'll be jumping on the Hades 2 Early Access anytime soon John?
any chance of a new yolo series? loved the fallout ones tension and haven't found a series that scratches that itch since
Wait! What about the Pipboy firmware update?
yes there is but its 50 depending on i think it was you charisma i think 21:54
You can use companions as settlement leaders…. Please give strong his own settlement, i need to see that
When speaking about Proctor Ingram, maybe don't say "on foot"...
Are you the voiceover guy for Britains got talent 😂😂
Engagement for the algorithm
Entry 2 of asking for an entire play through of the C&C remaster,
Let’s hope the “Update “ didn’t break this series to badly
Again I like the suggestion that someone made that we could add 0.1 of a count, but I’ll only count it if Jon finds additional entries to be counted as 0.1 of a count is ok so no added entries until Jon says this is a fair compromise
That's not what that person meant with others replying "1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc.". None of the other replies count towards a day, they are worth nothing towards the 1230 days. You can't have nine people reply up to 1.9 then the tenth person to do it makes it entry 2, it's the same exact problem as before, only slightly lessened.
They only suggested that, not as a compromise, but as a way of others showing support towards you and the game, not as contributions to the total amount of days. A better way of understanding it is if you had people reply 1.a, 1.b, 1.c etc. and just doubling up the letters if you get past 26 replies, as in 1.aa, 1.ab etc. You can go with the purely number system if you want just as long as you and everyone knows the only count that matters is the actual number of days you've asked. So 1.1 would be different to 1.10 you see and you can continue counting out from there. Think of them like addendums. You, by yourself, have to comment for the total 1230 days for it to count.
It's the only rule as far as I can tell. An easy way to remember the rule is to think of how Seth worded his request everyday, starting with " *_Day_* ____ of asking for Zoo Tycoon." emphasis on the day part. I know you wanted to do entries to kind of set yourself apart but I feel like it's confusing you about the requirements needed to be fulfilled as was set by the Rule of Seth. I just really want you to understand this so you don't start wasting your time again with cheating. Only your comment counts, nobody else helped Seth, and even if people did he still asked for 1230 days.
There will be no work arounds but if you don't believe thats how it works because Jon isn't personally telling you, then I guess feel free to do it your way and find out. Other than the handful of people also asking for C&C along with you, you could tell other people in the community weren't happy with the way you were going about this before. You acting incredulous whenever someone has explained this to you doesn't help either. Think about the precedent _that_ would set if he played C&C after being asked this way. Jon didn't do the Zoo Tycoon video to drive up engagement, so people would flood his comments with chains of replies asking for games as you kind of implied in one of your other comments. He did it for Seth because he figured if someone is going to be dedicated for that long then they should get the game they requested.
I’ve already recommitted to this by starting at 1, and unless Jon says otherwise I’m not going to count other entries. Nor was my intention to undermine Seth in anyway.
@@dungeonmaster201 so why that bit at the end? It's unnecessary. I don't understand why you would include it then. It's also not what that person was suggesting but like before you're misinterpreting it for your own gain. It's not hard to understand that you as an individual must ask that many days, end of story.
You keep mentioning this possibility that maybe you don't have to do the full 1230 days, as long as Jon approves, which he won't. Intentionally or not, this does undermine the whole thing. You don't need a personal answer from Jon to understand no, that is not fair to have others contribute to the count in this way. It's no different from what you were just called out for a couple days ago, and many times before that. This isn't an argument, I'm telling you how the rule works.
You've complied but obviously you still think there might be the possibility of another way which still comes off as you acting incredulous to information given to you. If "ifs, ands, or buts " were candied nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas, unfortunately they're not. It's not about the number of requests, it is about the amount of days spent requesting, period. I will keep explaining this until it finally sinks in if I have to.
Im just here to meet the morrowind series request comment quota.
Does this not feel out of character for gunners? A crazy hunting dog guy feels like a chemed up raider rather than a military unit
34:56 Why not choose the option to ask for the purpose of the HQ? You were asking yourself the same thing a minute prior.
unless this is pre fallout 4 mod nuke how did you make mod/mods work mine just disable them selves and that if i can just into the in game mod hub in general
This, and the next few episodes were recorded before the update, and the guys over at Sim Settlements are working hard to integrate it into the update, so fingers crossed.
thats been there sense the game realce 0:57 (hope you know what i mean)
you know you can build in the hq
Ok but what about the pipboy upgrades????
Eh as t you’ve been doing with this mod is amazing. They breathed new life into one of my favorites. Shame Bethesda-fuckup-da had to release a late 1/4 effort patch
So does this mean that the brotherhood ending is locked in? Not that I'm fussed over the loss of the rail road. There're not the squeaky clean goody two shoes they pretend to be, and are just as bad as Dalma.
I usually go the Minutemen route, and specifically keep both the BoS and Railroad around after destroying the Institute. There are specific quests that you have to complete in a specific order, and there are two people that you can never talk to again, for fear of being given radiant quests to eliminate the opposing faction, P.A.M and Kells are the two to avoid afterwards, but all other radiant quests are still workable. Besides which, even those arrogant BoS guys have some great characters, along with Deacon and Tinker Tom from the Railroad, I just don't like having to kill those guys.
I have seen others play this mod, but I think you will do better.
To anyone who’s played this mod, just checking in here as I plan to binge this once it’s finished, how close is Jon to beating this let’s play? Like halfway or more?
He's about halfway or so through chapter 2, I think. There's a lot of stuff to do at HQ. After certain point, chapter 3 will begin. I've done a bit of chapter 3, but not completed it yet ran into some problems, but it's been updated bunch since then.
More, this is probably the start of Chapter 3. I've not gone beyond this point as my save was borked by the update and I've not been able to fix it yet.
But there is more content for this final chapter.
If he keeps at his current pace, this series won't finish until the end of the year. If he goes back to hour long episodes, there's probably still a few months left. As of right now, he's barely half way through the entirety of the mod. Also worth noting, the mod team has plans to add more content during the summer. So it's possible that it takes even longer to play through all of the mod.
Day 2 of asking Jon to do a minimum of a 2 hour review of the Star Wars holiday special
oh boy, John is going to be in qutie the surpise when chapter three starts...
Hint the marina lol
Star Control date 0083!!
A very merry Sunday, and an excessively humble request for Jon to play Star Control 2.
It remains Jon's favorite game of all time, irrespective of whether or not he's actually ever played it.

Wait... fallout 4 is set in a nuclear wasteland...
When was the last time anybody had a "lawn"? Or needed anything close to a lawnmower???
Entry 20 of requesting Jon play Okami HD
Jawhol
Wait I was first without trying?
Yeah Fallout 4 and settlement building is quality content and all but I think a video on the Hades 2 early access would be relevant to your and many of your viewers interests!
Y'all cross your pinkies the official update doesn't queer this whole thing. It already wrecked Fallout London so worry worry worry.
Fuxake Jon, consistency with upload times would be nice
Day 110/1230 of requesting Jon play a game nobody will remember, like Majesty: A Fantasy Kingdom Sim.
The HQ tutorial is by far the worst part of the mod. Instead of explaining how it works, it is mega confusing by constantly turning features on and off.
I guess the mod makers have other worries currently, but that could do with a massive overhaul.
Day 94 of requesting _Age of Mythology_ (a full playthrough if possible)
Funny how the first act of Jon's police force this episode is taking out a hostile encampment. Insert political reference here...
Pray to the gods for it, haha
Something nasty around there to bring down vertibirds? Brotherhood Vertibirds are brought down by a stiff breeze...
In defense of the stiff breeze, he claims he wasn't stiff at all, in fact he was very gentle as he was moving past them and they really should teach their pilots how to fly.
