Same... what a fricken guy he was... I never noticed how great he was when I was a kid.. so much adult humor that flew over my head. I've been watching the Barker 70s and 80s episodes for a week now, driving the family nuts lol
I am with you. The 80s or a very special time. We had big hair, parachute pants mostly good music lol. It’s a time and innocence. This country will never see again. And that’s sad.
@@comancheviperrrrthis ⬆️!!! The literally best decade to grow up!!! Boys were men, girls were women, we had jelly shoes, stone washed jeans, rode our bikes without helmets, roller skated, what a fun time to grow up 💯💯💯
@@comancheviperrrr I wish every day that time travel would become real so I could go back in time and experience the 80's. I was born in 1998, so I missed ALOT of great moments in time. I envy you all who got to live those days.
RIP Bob Barker you are a legend and one of my fav childhood memories was watching Price is Right - I even went through a phase as a toddler where I called every old man Bob Barker! You were the best
❤❤❤oh, how I love the nostalgia of watching this show over and over again and never get tired of hearing old bob talking...it such wonderful memories...
Bob is just a natural, I think finding success somewhat later is what really made it work for him. All these beautiful people from all over the country, so excited, it’s just great
I was 7 & I watched this in real time back in 1986. It came on every Thursday night & I watch every episode. It made that summer an even more fun & memorable one. Thank you for sharing this with us and helping me to relive my childhood. ❤❤❤
Plinking was the game. One of my favorite games on price is right. That one on the mountain climber. Those were my two favorites. We don’t get to see the mountain climber in this episode. What we do you say Plinko.
17:53 I liked Gloria's reaction when the woman beside her bid 1 dollar more. She didn't show any facial expressions of contempt or disgust; she maintained her composure. That's class. A quality more or less absent in today's contestants.
19:02 great table! Released the same year this aired, in January of 1986. High Speed was one of the games (along with 1986's PinBot and 1984's Space Shuttle) that helped revitalize the pinball industry, which had become stagnant due in part to the video game crash of 1983. High Speed sold 17,080 units. More useless facts. During its design, High Speed was jokingly called "High Cost" by some rival Williams designers due to its then high production cost. The advances in the mechanical design that went into High Speed, coupled with the machine's popularity, led to many machines being kept in service much longer than was previously the norm. The play surfaces of the machine were not initially given as much attention, leading to many High Speed machines seeing service TO THIS DAY in extremely worn condition. Williams rapidly addressed this issue by making mylar playfield covers available and later adding hard clear paint coats to their playfields. Canadian specialist Classic Playfield Reproductions produced an officially licensed High Speed 13-color Reproduction Playfield, which shipped as limited edition in 2014.
Damn...86 and prices soared in only a couple years. Also the delvoplment of the quality of television in such a short period. Glad we don't have those big satellite dishes in backyards anymore though. 😆
That is believed to be the last time to date a sponsor was actually mentioned on a network game show--1986! It was also the last time the Mets won a World Series (lol)! Now ads, Rod Roddy, and Bob Barker, are all a part of history.
I was 2 when first aired. We loved it! Can’t believe how long it ran. Definitely due to Bob Barkers charm and charisma! Plus all the beauties⭐️RIP Bob.
These nighttime specials were done in attempt to compete with NBC on Thursday nights during the 8pm hour; prior to the start of the 1986-1987 season. It aired directly against The Cosby Show and Family Ties; both of which were the number 1 and number 2 shows, respectively.
They'd probably turn Super Ball!! into a "big money" game, with a huge payout for getting the highest possible cash value, then getting the Super Ball into the center for the top multiplier.
17:33 OMG that stupid plastic clock was $1370 in 1986?!!! You could get something like that at TJ Maxx for like $40 or $50 nowadays! It's amazing how much some things have gone up but others have gone DOWN.
This show is classic and it never gets old. That first lady actually did very good. She won a motorcycle and a camera and a phone and a popcorn maker $250 and a trip to Switzerland.. That is not bad at all
3:22 “In doors number one, number two, number three….” uh no Rod that’s the other Wayne Brady/Monty Hall’s Let’s Make a Deal game show that comes on at 9:00am before The Price is Right airs at 10:00am.
@@Kloverkill 🤣😂😆See this is why I asked. My only theory was that her sneakers were kind of dirty so the glitzy Hollywood producers wanted to use that to add a bit of drama, like "Ooo imagine how life-changing a new car would be to this poor woman who apparently has to walk everywhere in her podunk town in Flyoverstate USA." But no, I think you nailed it. This was pure art. And you gave me a genuine belly laugh-I literally yelled "HA HA HA!!" and scared the sh out of my cat.
I HATE SUPER BALL. There I said it. I mean, ski-ball is fun to play when there's nothing on the line, but it's so unfair how to win the prizes these people have to be good at a sport basically, after they ALREADY got prices right!
Haha that’s true! The trick w ski ball is to use an “elephant trunk” swing, and release the ball smack in the middle of the lane. That is the perfect force to get it in the desired goal.

The ZZ Top music during the first item up for bids was a nice touch. Very fitting for a motorcycle!
So would " Born to be Wild " .

The best way to win 1 away is to only get 1 number right as it'll most likely be the 1st number;)
Fantastic strategy! Get the last four wrong on purpose! Um, you do realize that's just as hard as getting them all right, right?
Very true. Although I think it’s likely the 4 wrong numbers are pure luck
I was 7 when this originally aired. I watched it with my dad and I’ve been hooked on “Price” since.😊
