2:13 Her guest stint on _Baywatch_ became a permanent role a while later. Gena Lee Nolin would then parlay that into the lead role on _Sheena_ in 2000.
@"markyyy", yes, back then, on Friday, September 15, 1995, "The Price Is Right" game show had late Mr. Robert "Bob" W. Barker as its past host just as his ancient studio announcer there was late Mr. Robert "Rod" R. Roddy!
By this point in time, the foghorn would be used (with rare exceptions) as the permanent losing sound in Check-Out. This is contrary to the Pluto episodes we've seen where the majority of the episodes would use the regular buzzer for losses and only recently we've been hearing the foghorn begin to sound. I think when the new batches come about we're going to see both losing sounds be used interchangeably for this game as well as a bunch of other games.
(Gena Lee Nolin's final appearance).... Okay, I have to be brutal honestly here.... Of all the episodes from the Season 24 Premiere Week, THIS ONE is my LEAST favorite because it becomes apparent by this point that they were purposely trying to squeeze Holly out by giving her very little to do. During the first half of show, she is NOT shown on-camera at all, all we see is her hands beginning @ 4:27 and we don't even see her again until 26:22 (tucked away in the camper tent), then 37:57 (crotched down in the truck bed) & finally 51:02, all pathetic attempts to "hide her weight"... Sad on how they treated her during her final weeks after spending practically most of her life on the show (19 years) 😢
All because Holly didn't want to perjure herself and lie for Bob in that mess with Dian... Bob didn't have to do what he did to her, he could've handled those situations WAY differently and let her keep her job. She didn't deserve that cruel, cold-hearted treatment what-so-ever
My aunt purchased one of those Mercury Villager vans brand new in June of 1995. I was only 19 but remember driving it several times. She traded it in 2001 for a new Nissan Altima.

@@graigmellon7874 I even learned that Bob requested for a $1.00 range, just as he thought there were some winners that have been out of the 50-cent range a lot. Trouble was, the staff thought it would be too easy for contestants to win, based off of that particular range, at the time, until inflation caught up with certain grocery items, which later led to Bob finally getting the request he wanted, since feeling that way, after the first few playings.
@@chrisfinch8637 Early on, 50 cents was reasonable when the totals were seldom over $5.00. However, inflation threw that out. In the early-mid 1990s, it was one of the hardest games on the show, up there with 3 Strikes and Golden Road, and for regular prizes too.
I would've gotten rid of Janice long before Holly.. Janice was wearing way too much makeup, her lips were ungodly big, and just looked bad... Holly was perfectly fine the way she was... Also did not care for Gina Lee.. her "spunk" was way over the top... Glad Chantal came shortly after this...
Thank you for posting this video I had a lot of good times watching this show growing up

Holly looked fine! She would not be thrown off today.
Was she the model who they didn't show when they were playing Spelling Bee?

18:15 ohhhh matthew im sorry
Amazing severe underbid and severe overbid in the showcase.
RIP Bob Barker
This is like the Golden Age of TPIR, thanks so much for posting!

It seems to me that they used this episode to give viewers a clue that they're going to dismiss Holly shortly after...
All because Holly didn't want to perjure herself and lie for Bob in that mess with Dian...

So horrible and cruel what Barker did to holly. She looked amazing and seems like the most lovely person. #teamholly!!
Wow Kathleen taking Hollys place at the checkout game was also a clue. That was always Hollys game!
@@jimmyboyzable And come 2000, Janice and Kathleen were dismissed - again without warning especially to Janice who was there since the beginning...
Wow, only $1800 for a trip to Canada?

Rod Roddy’s voice is losing
While both car games were won, those cars were tin cans ready to blow. But Matthew won himself a Mercury Villager, though.
The 1st contestant looks like the star from family ties 👔
In Christopher's defense, with the current rules to check out, he would have won easily
Or even the $1.00 rule had that come into play - the winnings rate for this game decreased as the years went on.
