I appreciate you watching and commenting. The GP100 is one fine revolver, a blending (somewhat) of the best attributes of the "Sixes" family, but it's still hard to beat the originals.
Yes it does. Yes it does. Most gun aficionados can recognize what make a revolver is just by looking at it (there are exceptions, of course). Pistols can sometime be deceptive since many copy features from each other. In my humble opinion, a simple logo placed on the frame or slide is all that is needed. I just wish that manufacturers would be a little more discreet in their branding.
Still have my NYPD issued 1990 -Stainless, double action only. I was on the poor side and could not shell out the cash for two guns - so this was my service and off duty gun.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I readily identify with the poor side of things. I had to sell quite a few firearms during a poor times. I am hoping that "Bidenomics" does not force a sale again. The Security Six still would make a fine carry gun even today.
I love the revolver reviews! Ruger Six series are very solid guns, you very rarely see them for sale….ive owned a few, as like your Son-in-Law I swapped the grips for larger one, standard were too small for me. From sight need a little paint to make it easier to see😳😳older eyes! Thanks
Thanks for watching and commenting. As stated in the review, the length of this barrel was 3.75-inches with 3-inches protruding. A .357 magnum version was issued to the INS with a 2.75-inch barrel.
In the specifications segment, I mistakenly call out the barrel length as 3.75-inchs. That was an error on my part. The barrel length is 2.75-inches.
These older Rugers have a special place in firearms history. They are classy and built like a tank. 😊
Thanks for watching and commenting. They definitely do hold a special place. Unfortunately, this one belongs to the Son-in-law and it's at his place.😁
Owned a few SP101's but nothing in the Six family. I'll keep an eye out for one and maybe I'll give it a try.
Truly a great gun! It's fun to look back at this wonderful firearm, thank you!

I see the Ruger barrel billboard goes back a long way.

👍👍🇺🇸
Thanks, my friend!
2.75 inch, not 3.75
My error, sorry! Thanks for catching that.
