Rush Hour in Burbank, CA. Packed into six minutes worth of Megabytes we have here 15 rollbys... 13 Metrolink trains and two Amtraks. Note that I didn't film all the trains I saw in my three hours trackside, and I didn't pack in all the videos I filmed while trackside... This line gets plenty of action between 3 and 6 PM!
If you're wondering just what line this is I filmed from various points along the Metrolink Valley Subdivision, between Glendale and Burbank. This section of rail plays host to three Metrolink lines (Antelope valley Line, Ventura County Line, and Bob Hope Shuttles), as well as Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner, Coast Starlight, and several UP trains (Although not so much at rush hour)

This video is absolutely amazing, the nostalgia that accompanies the old Metrolink horns and train sets (ESPECIALLY THE OLD CABCARS & F59'S) , railroad crossing bells, and underdevelopment of the Glendale-Burbank area hits me in the feels. Amazing work, amazing video. Thank you for this gem. Never take it down.
Man, I miss the Gen 2 Bombardiers!!! They are now owned by Caltrain!!!
I hope when Caltrain gets enough of their EMUs when their system is completely electrified that those Gen 2 Bombardier cars can get refurbished and return back to Metrolink.

I remember being obsessed with trains back in the day and was always watching videos about them here on RUclips, great times, I was even thinking about recreating this video at the same locations where the clips were recorded and publishing it on my channel in the future lol.

BNSFGUY7777 Actually, I would say 1994-2012. Metrolink used to have some electric whistles and would have only 3 cars. I miss when cabcars had K5LA's and electric whistles. I still like P2's though.

These were surely the better days of Metrolink. The Bombardier Cab Cars were still active and the MP36s were new at that time. I really love the Bombardiers and the F59s before they were all replaced by the Rotems and F125s
Rotems just ruin everything they look hideous they just don’t match Bombardier cars and yes these were the better days of metrolink

Some of the Metrolink's Train horns are the Same as Caltrain. I was on the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner heading both ways.
Gotta love those horns! Much better than the clogged-sounding stuff we have on NJ Transit!
Chicago area has many "quiet" zones, where horns are used in emergencies or when trains meet at stations or crossings. I like your low-angle shots!

UPDATE: The railroad crossing with the WCH m bell and safetran mechanical bell has now been replaced, also metrolink has now retired all their F59PHIs and F59phs

the gold days of Metrolink the Bombardier Cab Cars were a thing the original late 1992 Metrolink logo was everywhere the F9PH and the F9PHI locomotives were not replaced and the MP36s were new to metrolink
