Tbh the twist was kinda bad. There was some foreshadowing in that blood fiends are being reintroduced coincidentally just before don’s canto and her ego being bleed/heal, but that’s pretty much it. Also it being a deus ex machina doesn’t help. They could have at least had a sinner ask “who is associated with P corp?” like they did before canto 6, but have no one answer because don quixote lost her memories. Literally anything would have been nice. Edit: the execution was great though, wonderful art and all that.

Narratively, Casseti was a powerful and nearly immortal threat that we had no chance of winning against, so we needed a deus ex machina in the form of don’s transformation. The biggest thing for me, though, was the lack of clues. Maybe this is an unfair comparison, but the Roland twist from library of ruina was an actually good one. There were clues since the beginning of the game that slowly revealed more and more about him. How did a grade 9 get into the library? How does he know so many people? Etc. It was slowly built up over the course of the game, which made the twist so much better. Don’s wasn’t. It doesn’t even make sense that she can do that. How did Elena and every other bloodfiends not find out about shoes that can make them human?
I’m honestly surprised she was able to take the shoes off. I’ve seen photos of some dude who didn’t take off his shoes for years, and they had to cut the shoes apart just to get them off of him. Of course, his feet were horribly malformed by necrosis, fungus, ingrown toenails, and probably many other diseases and problems I don’t recognize.

She turned out to be a Vampire/Bloodfiend (they can manipulate blood) that is very menacing hence the other side we are likely to hear her otherside voice in the next main story chapter We haven’t heard of it since the intervalo chapters are not voiced from the 2nd intervalo onwards

Spoiler alert Her running shoes Rocinante is the restraint that keeps her Bloodfiend side suppressed and in the latest intervallo... the main antagonist Casetti happened to make Don take off the shoes due to his power and once Rocinante is off her feet, the restraint is gone and she goes back to her Bloodfiend form. Don wasn't aware of it and Faust even personally told Dante that they should never let the other sinners to have a word about Don's origin. What Don knows is that she, at all costs, must never remove Rocinante off her feet...
