      I may be able to teach you, but it's important to understand that playing the piano requires more than just hand coordination on the keyboard. It also involves extensive ear training and a solid understanding of music theory, even for the chord progression demonstrated in this video. If you are willing to invest in private lessons, then the answer is likely yes.

    what does alt mean?

    • @MusicianParadise
      @MusicianParadise  Год назад +2

      "Alt" means dominant seventh altered chord - all the chord extensions are altered. without "Alt " the chord symbol will look like this G#7 b9;#9;#11; b13. It is not obligatory to play all the extensions though. I'm actually playing G#7#9; b13. But I think about this chord as a chord derived from the Altered Scale (aka Super Locrian mode) the seventh mode of the melodic minor scale, so I might use b9 and (or)#11 as well on this type of chords

      @@lighterwaves5659 Altered" stands for the dominant seventh altered chord. In your example, I assume your chord progression is diatonic, so it's CMaj7 // FMaj7 // Dm7 // G7. The only dominant chord here is G7, so we can choose to make this chord G7alt and resolve it back to C. By doing that, we will end up using non-diatonic notes (the black keys), but it will sound rather nice. Try this: for G7alt, play the following notes from G up: G, B, Eb, F, A#, and resolve it to C, B, D, E, G. (from C up).Stay tuned for more tutorials ;)
