Watching this reminds me of exactly why I have been procrastinating for two or more years now on doing plaster work around my house that I know/think I can do and have even bought all of the supplies and tools for the job….it’s so much dang harder than the pros make it look like it is….kudos to you for jumping in with both feet!

I like the idea of playing two videos at once, but muting one and using subtitles for the others or something would be better than having dual audio

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll see if I can figure out how to do subtitles.

I think it is just horrible I can't hear either and it's a waste of my time and frustrated because it is what I want to learn about especially the bad part. Did I Hear never using burlap again? Help!

Also did you put strapping and the stuff wire to attach it to in the 2 feet spaces also then easier to spread the mortar mixes onto

Onward and upward! I wonder if much like the group that has been grinding recycled glass to different fine textures of " sand" to prevent shore erosion near New Orleans, as well as sell for construction...Well, if glass can be a substitute for sand in modern construction, why not grind it to a mortor sand texture and use that with lime? ( Understood, experimentation is best done on a wall one is not willing to risk.) Materials specialist, Belinda Carr, might know, as well.

WHat mix are you making it? 6 part red clay 1 part sand 1 part water 1 part straw for brick or mortar right yes? Is that what you do ? What is your mix that cracks ? Try the right mix and see if it wont avoid cracking .

Archaelology guys says 6 part red clay and 1 part sand and 1 part water and 1 part straw and then affix to make bricks and such like mortar for the walls and such so does your mortar do this or are you using the limestones snad mix is this so?

Great video ... thank you! Would you mind sharing the putty to sand ratios for the three coats? Also ... how long do you let the putty sit before using it?

      Hey Jeff,
This video has the mix ratios and explanations: LIME PLASTER: The CHEAPEST and MOST DURABLE SIDING that's been Time-tested for 1000's of years!
      ruclips.net/video/dXWUrDxQRfQ/видео.html
We let the lime putty slake for 48 hrs or longer. As long as the putty is submerged by a small layer of water on top, it will be fine and can last for months

I'm so hungry to learn everything you're saying here, so it's really frustrating that you're talking over yourself... I've been looking everywhere for this kind of information, and I can't focus on two people talking at the same time saying different things. Add running the sound of the drill over the top of that?! Honestly, I'm so bummed...
