I feel more enthralled in Ding Dong's death than Marley's in "Marley and Me." Mainly because in most deaths in movies, like "Marley and Me," they use somber, depressing, and melancholy music to emphasize on the scene that's occuring at that moment that this person is dying and we should feel sad. While here it's this BIG triumphant and powerful orchestra being played as Ding Dong evolves, makes friends, and while he dies emphasizing his life and the obstacles he went through during it. All the while we feel sad yet inspired as Chris and Julian (and whoever that big guy was holding Julian) stand by Ding Dong's side as he says his final words and dies! It's beautiful and I wish it was done more in movies.

It's an inside joke lore that he's an alien with a weird anatomy and backstory etc. I'm not sure if the 2 year life expectancy is "canon" or made up just for the video (I think it's made up) but no, he's actually alive, neither does he have some terminal illness that'll kill him soon or anything.

I'm not even joking when I say this is actually a masterpiece. I'm pretty sure this is my favorite video on RUclips right now. You're able to take the funniest boys on the internet and make something sad out of their ridiculous "lore" only by using great animation, great music, and memories of all the other things they've done. It really just goes to show that the right use of style and art can make anything into something beautiful.

This is incredibly masterful, no Let's Play animated has ever made me feel sad
To anyone watching this after the recent days, whether or not you know what Dingdong has discussed know that he's moved on to follow his passions on his own terms and he has Julian there to support him still. Also respect his wishes to not keep treading on old subjects or conflicts that he's working to get away from - he doesn't discredit anyone from enjoying his previous work which are still there for anyone to enjoy, he just wants people to see any content he's been in as its own isolated thing to enjoy.
Enjoy the games the two are making as well when they come out if you want to check them out. Lastly, big Kudos to Urick's production here too - great to see his content evolve as well.

Games have been in production for years. I'm amazed they finally pumped out a single game after all this time. I honestly hated how much dd and j would bash on oneys fan base when, hey get this, makes up 80% of your own fan base, because without Chris, I wouldn't know who the hell they even were.
I do love these fellas to death, but christ alive they've said and done some annoying shit. I've donated a LOT of money to them and followed them constantly after the departure. I'm also very disappointed in their views of the past and the sheer fact that wanwan hasn't really done shit. Art streams are neat. Am I ever going to be able to buy the damn games? Truth be told, a Halloween bullet hell and a 2d sidescrolling beatemup don't even look that interesting, but I really wanted to support them. Then they go on about Chris and his "8 year old fans" while also being stuck in development purgatory, releasing nothing but a recent free game that could easily be made in rpgmaker.
As much as I enjoy them, I disagree with a lot of things they talk about, this also lead Julian to say he liked that about me in a twitch stream lol
I really do hope the best for them, this animation always makes me a bit sad. But fuck dude, don't talk shit about your own fanbase

Oney passed the torch down to Julian as they went their separate ways, Both giving a goodbye-hug to one another. Oney Plays became JuliPlays, rising as popular as ever. Oney went back to his good ol' friend, Psycicpebbles, finishing Hellbenders. The show was a huge success, surpassing Star Wars in modern pop-culture popularity. In their retirement home, he looked at the pictures taken back during Oney Plays. Laughing. Screaming, with Julian and Ding Dong. Oney ruminates with Ding Dong, saying, "I hope you'll be proud when we meet again," and lived on happily ever after.

This was legitimately emotional, holy shit. Didn't think an oneyplays animated would bring me to tears. This animator is incredibly talented and the music was perfect.

This was... Beautiful. As sad as it was it almost reminds me of many kids moives from the ninties. Think about it, the story starts with Chris who is lonely. He wishes for " A million pals" then a strange can falls from the sky promising him somthing he wanted so dearly. Ding Dong sprouts out of the flower pot, little more then a seintiant mass at first but though a year of video games and Chris's friendship he quickly grows into a strong and healthly being. Year two approaches, Julian arrives and with him a strong new freindship and a torrent of new guests. Finally year 3 comes to a close, one day like anyother Ding Dong collapses during a play session. Tears are shed. Chris has lost his best freind. And its sad, but if chris would just look behind him hed see that Ding Dong made his wish come true: "A million pals so ill never be lonely" c:

I like both pairings equally in their own separate ways. I like to think of it as a separate show to some extent. Like I've accepted that the one is over but now I have this other show to watch with a character I already like and others from Sleepycast and new ones
I noticed how they have their own chemistry mostly with the diverse selection of personalities sparring with chris. Each friends have their unique chemistry with chris, where zach hypes up the over the top funni humor while dingdong acts like the straight man but is also funni boyo
Absolutely phenomenal, if this was done with a team of less than 40 I would be incredibly impressed. The fact that it’s only one guy is totally and completely baffling. Probably the best shot and cleanest-looking oneman animation I’ve ever seen. OP, if you ever read this comment, know that you have made something truly stunning and impressive beyond belief. Sorry to drone on, but as a fan and “connoisseur” of online animation, I want to make sure you know that this piece should be looked at as a model for any other animated short.
