- It's estimated that 1.1 million people were killed at Auschwitz. One of the youngest survivors is Tova Friedman, who was just 5 years old when she and her parents were sent to the Nazi labour camp. Now aged 84, she is sharing her memories in a new book called 'The Daughter of Auschwitz' (out this Thursday). Tova joins Christine live in the studio to talk about the horrific six months she spent in the camp, becoming a TikTok sensation in her eighties thanks to her grandson and why keeping the story of the Holocaust alive is so important.

I have read Tova's book 'The Daughter of Auschwitz', it is one of the most beautiful, heartbreaking, tragic and horrific stories I've ever read. The war had broken not only her entire family, but it broke spirits and future's and I am in awe of Tova's strength and wisdom.

How can she remenber all this if she was 5 year old
She did not. She´s just telling something. Once she told a newspaper that according her mother she was the youngest survivor of Auschwitz, and that she never saw younger children there. While already Nissen Mangel claims to be the youngest Auschwitz survivor, with 10 years! In fact did toddlers survive Auschwitz.
