I have two dozen different fountain pens ranging from $20 tp $400 and this pen is my favorite! Love it! It outperforms all my more expensive ones. Can’t recommend it more.
I think that depends more on what ink you use. The Pilot Iroshizuku inks are notoriously wet, well lubricated, I'd recommend those. I used mine with Iroshizuku Fuyu-Syogun and it flows beautifully. Currently inked with Noodler's Lexington Grey (yeah I like grey shading inks for drawing they get really dark if you layer). No flow issues with this one either, and no pressure needed to write, not even in reverse. Edit: 'in reverse' as in upside down nib, just to clarify 😅
@laitae you could look for a Custom 74 from a Japanese seller. They have non-demonstrator bodies available there. I bet that plastic is nicer. The Pen Habit had a review of a green model if you want to check it out.

Thanks for the comment at 6:25 about the writing pressure. You just prevented me from making an expensive pen-purchasing mistake :)

@@retardno002 That makes sense. I do happen to have Lexington Gray -- it makes even my EF Kakuno feel juicy :P
Sounds like you need to make the feed wetter.
How does the plastic feel in comparison with other pens that you have (or may have), TWSBI or Pilot Custom 74?
The plastic is the same as the Custom 74. Not my favorite, but it gets the job done.
@@putteringpenman thanks! Ugh, I like my Pilot 74 nib but not the plastic, feels cheap.

Good point. Usually opaque plastic feels a bit better. Thanks
What’s your favorite Pilot nib ? Thanks
The #15 medium nib. The one that is used on the Pilot Custom 823 and 743.
