Fort Largs - Historic Cannons Relocation

At Fort Largs, we are pleased to announce that we have successfully relocated the historic cannons, each weighing approximately 5 tonnes, to their final resting place at Fort Largs. These purpose-built cannons originally arrived in South Australia in 1898 and served at Fort Largs until its dismantlement in 1928. They were then mounted at Warradale in July 1969.
As part of our heritage conservation efforts, we are proud to reinstate these significant artefacts at Fort Largs, where they will remain for future generations to appreciate.
We look forward to sharing this piece of South Australian history with the community when the Fort officially opens to the public for the first time in its history.
