    Unfortunately, all the non-Cisco dual WAN routers, which I tried, transmit data through the failover WAN even when the primary WAN is available and operates stable (pings, analysis data, etc..). Would you know, please, if it is possible to configure the secondary Failover WAN so that no metered data ist transmitted while primary WAN runs stable?

    so you need to the the "copy run start" command all the time when you are done with something? cause in the previous videos when you were configuring the two routers connected with a serial DTE/DCE cabel you weren't typing this command on the HyperTerminal.Sorry if i'm asking something stupid cause i'm a student and we've learned a lot of theory but haven't done this in practice.

    One thing EVERYONE has to keep in mind. When taking the Cisco Test, DO NOT shorthand the commands. YOU WILL fail the test.
    A few of my friends shorthanded the commands and they failed the test. - Many videos people watch of Cisco tutorials keep showing people the shorthand commands,
    But what they dont tell you is that if you do the shorthand commands on the test YOU WILL FAIL the test..... Just FYI to everyone.
    Along with this reason is each test is $150 dollars. whether you pass or fail. So not knowing that you CANT shorthand commands will surely cost you a fail on the test along with $150 dollars.

    • @arunbhondoe

      with shorthand you mean like ''config t" or something? (it means configure terminal)

    • @pauletheridge

      switches make LAN's and Routers Connect LAN's, you can make Vlans with a switch to make two separate logical LAN's or you can use a Layer 3 Switches

      Hey Joe, You don't need a physical router. Check out GNS3 and packet tracer. The routers are emulated and do the exact same thing as having the router right beside you.

    Without context this video is only useful to people who are already familiar with cisco and are already doing all of these things. For a complete beginner with no knowledge of any of this, they can see and memorize everything you are doing in the video, but without context, they won't know why you are doing everything. It's like teaching French grammar to a bunch of people who don't know any french words. They can memorize all of the grammar rules but they don't know why or when they would ever use them.

      The book really helps for this. I have the book for my class, and I've been reading it but it doesn't make much sense until you watch these videos. They go hand in hand.

    • @Kilzu1
      @Kilzu1 6 лет назад

      Umm let me ask you this:
      For what regular consumer needs a router which needs to be configured completely manually at home?
      Also if someone can watch this video, then why should the video maker explain everything just so people who really need to learn this wouldn't have to oh I don't know read the manual which can be found from Cisco's website or go through other guides?
      Answer to first question is this:
      FOR FREAKING FUN. Whole internet of things is managed by the ISP and manually configuring your router from the very core won't have any effect (in fact it is huge security risk since routers like this might not have firewall and you have to get that separately or you have to purchase license depending on the model)
      For second question answer would be:
      Because they are either too damn lazy and /or stubborn to bother to do that or can't read english, in which case they really aren't taking the whole learning new things seriously.
      You don't really need to understand this level of network management unless you are one establishing internet and VLAN connections to end devices

    • @noname89636
      @noname89636 5 лет назад

      @Crescent this video is not for Cisco absolute beginners. This is for people who already know what Packet Tracer is. If you do not know what Packet Tracer is, then do a search for Packet Tracer for beginners. Once you watch like 1-3 videos, you can come back to this one and will understand what he is talking about. Also, continue watching the rest of his videos as he is one of the few teachers who truly understands how to teach.
