Red and blue April is her TMNT Tournament Fighters Genesis color scheme (even if the outfit is different in that game).
NES Karai is based off Shredder's colors in TMNT Tournament Fighters NES.

Good eye on NES Karai colors I had no idea what they based them off. But I am here to second yea Tournament Fighters April makes the most sense to me. There are other red blue but that bright red and teal kinda blue make me think of Tournament Fighters April and given the amount of tournament fighter homages in the DLC feels right. (also noticed she has the flesh color belt area to represent the tournament fighter sprites bare midriff/crop top look in that game)

I think the red and white one is a reference to Aska from Tournament Fighters snes

I agree Aska reference I didn't even consider her until my friend suggested that it was an Aska palette. now I can't unsee it.

Palette 9 looks dead ringer for Aska from Tournament Fighters. the other ninja girl in that game besides Karai herself. White headband, yellow arm guards, red top and brown hair. it all closely lines up.

Nice catch on some of these palettes. Original foot can colors on Karai and Commodore 64 Usagi are the ones that impressed me the most. I thought about Ryu Hayabusa for the Retro Nes looking Karai, but I missed the Shinobi reference. Great Job!

3:52 Usagi’s 3rd pallet swap is his 03 appearance. You can tell by the color blue on his kimono and the green hilts on his swords.
6:24 Also for Karai’s all black outfit with the red bandana, i believe is a reference to the first 90’s film. In that film the foot wore all black with red bandanas so i presume its a depiction of her if she were in that movie.

Karai palette 9 could be her look from TMNT Mutants in Manhattan game

Again, with April, her NES outfit is from the FIRST NES game, not the second or third.

Karai’s 3rd palette also heavily resembles the 1990 foot clan outfit colors.

@@sonictoast 5:38: I wanna point out that Karai's outfit in "Mutant Madness" is actually taken straight from the Genesis version of "Tournament Fighters", which means Karai has been involved in Fred Wolf TMNT Merchandising in a round about way, since the Action Figures are a mix of both Fred Wolf and Archie Iterations, and that the Archie Comics were an alternate timeline from the Fred Wolf Series (as both Fred Wolf and Archie started with the same origin). It doesn't help that Karai's idle pose in Shredder's Revenge is exactly like how Karai idly poses in the SNES version of "Tournament Fighters". I'd even argue that Shredder's Revenge Karai is clearly a saturated version of 4Kids Karai, just that she traded a grey belt with a red one.
