I have the same scrap bag in my studio and I collect all my smallest scraps and threads in in jars. I just can not throw them away❤. I started making patchwork gift bags, patchwork pillow cases, patchwork table runners and wall art pieces. And scraps in my jars I use as stuffing for pillows and other decorations. My favorite creations are stuffed flowers for hats and bags decorating.
I have three bins under my sewing table: one for large scraps that I can piece together for other garments; a second bin for medium size scraps; and a third with small usable scraps for dollmakers. When the bins are full, I gather, label, and donate to local thrift shop that puts them out for other treasure hunters! I have heard others use the scraps to make stuffed footstools.
That’s a great idea! Over the summer I met a woman who is making bundled sculptures using fabric scraps (like using the super small stuff) and I brought her my big 1-years-worth of scraps! I was so pleased.
I love this sewing shed! It's hard to believe anything could be better but I get it that you want a table you can walk around and a deeper one. And better lighting for sure, that's so important! Building a new sewing space is really exciting. Good luck!
Your studio is so cute! I have a bedroom in our house! To me it’s perfect, we raised our 4 kids in this house and I always sewed at the kitchen table. Can’t wait to see your new studio!
I use fabric scraps as stuffing, as well as I use water-soluble mesh to sandwich it to make art and cut out designs. Or you could give them away to another maker to enjoy!
So many great (and realistic) ideas! Regarding fabric scraps, I have heard some people take bags of small scrap to stuff dog beds. Love the sustainability you incorporate in your sewing space.
Hi! I am a new subscriber to your channel. I absolutely love your sewing studio. Currently, my family and I are moving too. I have my own craft room in our home, but I cannot wait to fix up my sewing/craft room a few months from now. Thank you for sharing!!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I remember when just having a place to keep my sewing machine out was a goal. It’s such a gift to have a whole room. One day I’ll share my new studio. It’s bigger than my whole house now!
What a fabulous space! I’m looking to buy a log cabin, around 3mx4m, here in the U.K. your dream space has helped me really think about mine! Thanks for sharing👍

Great space. Good luck on the move. I make pet beds and stuff them with my fabric scraps and take to local shelter....
