Dak's best win is against a 2018 stacked Saints team. And he only scored 1 TD. Dak is the most overvalued QB I've ever seen. Yes, he was 2nd in MVP voting this past year. But he only beat 1 team with a .500 record and the Eagles had already imploded by that point. Let him play it out and let's see who will give Dak $55+ mil a year.

4:36 he didn't give up 27 points. He didn't give up all of it but he gave up part of it. 2 INTs one of which completely telegraphed to the defense and led to a pick 6. Another INT that left GB on the doorstep. He played poorly in that game, enough to shake Jones' confidence in the player. At this point, Dak is pretty much a known quantity. He’s a very solid QB but seems to lack understanding of situational awareness in high leverage moments. As a 8-9 year vet he shouldn’t be taking sacks in field goal range, shouldn’t be throwing the ball away when you need the clock to continue to run, not throwing the ball away while running out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage. As a fan, I’ve witnessed this way to often. This doesn’t include the costly turnovers in both of the last 2 playoff games. I’m not paying 60 million for this at this point in his career.

Man! It’s crazy the love of celebrity! We’re a pass rushing team. If we can forgive INTs and pick sixes we can forgive the team guessing on a defensive scheme after not knowing what we have because of the offensive instability against serious teams. But what you can’t do as a QB is fail to respond and set on fire time of possession and after pretending you weren’t going to suck another year. Worst case scenario it would have been a shootout with a loss or at least hold the defense down so they can bow up and finish the game like the defense has done for Dak and Cooper Rush. At least Rush knows how to respond offensively in the flow of the game.

Dallas has, since the free agency era started, been happy to write the biggest check to make a point about the organization and its standing. But what is that point nowadays? Is it to accept getting to the playoffs, a winning season? Is it enough to prove, we drafted this guy, therefore we should reward him? As someone who doesn't have any remote love for the Cowboys, when Jerry Jones came into power in my eyes, he made it clear. Everyone is replaceable, including our beloved hall of fame head coach. We will turn over every stone to build this town into a winner once again. I will write the check I need to write if it means hardware at the end of the season. When did the organizational shift occur, where being "all in" by throwing picks at a player like Joey Galloway from Seattle or Williams from Detroit, turned into standing pat in the offseason while your division gets better? When being happy about a title, means your twitter is happy Ware got a title with Denver. Because he wasn't going to get one here, that was clear.
I don't want to sound like I dislike Dak Prescott (31 when season begins) he's a better QB then many in this league give credit, but I think this is the right situation for him. Giving him another upper echelon contract at this point accepts you will be good, but not good enough when it matters. It puts the onus on the players around him to succeed, not the player itself. Put the pressure on him, then reward him. Being good is simply not good enough anymore. Being happy to be there is the standard in Dallas and that's, based on the comments I see from Dallas fans each year, never been good enough since the Triplets retired. That disconnect between the ownership and fans has never seemed more real as an outsider in recent memory.
