Love the BeeBee pick and I know people say Liufau is a reach but we don’t have a 4th rounder and when I watched him all I saw was Troy Polamalu energy, no hesitation like Overshown. That’s been Clark’s and was Vander Eschs biggest weakness being to late to react and if Liufau and Overshown play with their foot on the gas that’s going to help tremendously

Marist was a giant reach & a wasted pick.. played 600 snaps & made 24 tackles. That's some world-class hesitation

We're actually getting more physical, which was our downfall when we played the "Bully" teams. Back in the 90's, we were the team that beat the s**t outta teams. Somehow we got away from that. Refreshing to see that we're getting back to that.
This team needs another Norton Jr. or Dat Nguyen badly.

Facts, now I understand why jerry hasnt signed or paid anybody, he's not rebuilding or tanking that's loser ish, he wanted to get right in the trenches, I think he took a step back after that GB game and said "Damn, they did us how WE used to do mfs", and he wanted to get back to that, it may not be this year, but we are going to be big asl on both fronts when it's all said and done

Martin, Smith, Guyton & Beebee on the line will provide much needed depth and give Dak so much more time to pick teams apart! I would love to see Zeke back in a Cowboys uniform as well. Liuafu is a great addition to an already awesome defense. I am very impressed with the direction our Cowboys are headed in, and I can't wait to see this team take the field in 2024. GO COWBOYS!!!!

B for now so far. I like the picks, especially Beebe. He was told to practice Center with Duke, and Duke says he's excellening. If we can find a few DTs late or an RB, that can quickly turn to a B+. Games are won in the trenches, and I can see almost see the vision of the front office. Skill positions are sexy but Games are won up front. Between Dak and the Defense, we're in a good position to go far.
I love what the Cowboys are doing I give the Draft a B so far
They've rebuilt the Offensive Line, picked up depth at DE and a true Run Stopper, and Got a stud LB and potential starter year 1 in Liufau
1st Pick : Got our next LT for the next 10 years
2nd Pick : Got a future starter and Depth DE that can help at Stopping The Run....Maybe we move micah back to LB
3rd Pick : We got a steal and a top 5 Guard that was projected to go in the 2nd and we got him in the 3rd. He will be our next Center for the next 10 years
4th Pick : We got a stud who is explosive, can stop the run, and is great in pass coverage. He also has great instincts and I believe Zimmer can make him into a starting caliber LB I see him starting over Overshown but not Kendricks....maybe we move Micah back to LB and he becomes LB 3 talk about depth

The picks, were better than we expected, these guys have a great chance to be instant meaningful impacts there rookie years, got to coach them up, an if our second year guys make that jump, we will have a great team.

Homer comment. Beebe is a solid pick, B+ to get him Round 3. Kneeland had average production in a less than average conference, C taking him Round 2. Liufau has zero similarities to Polamalu besides his hair and heritage. Polamalu was a HOF player, Liufau will be a depth/special teams guy. Another C for making him a Round 3 pick.
Beebe is the only reason Day 2 wasn't a massive disappointment.
@@jefflawrence5490kneeland was top 40 on most experts boards. To get him where we did was lucky. He addresses our need to stop the run and helps with depth. It’s a solid B in value.

Good commentary. I think BB was the best pick of the draft. Consensus All-American and first Team Big 12 (a passing league). It seems like a Dak friendly draft to me.

He will play end on passing downs and freeland on running downs
Freeland is for the future, he's DLaws replacement who is in the last year of his contract (Also helps with the loss of Dorance Armstrong who was hugely underrated). Guyton might not be ready this year either... it's a really good draft for the Cowboys even if it takes 2-3 years for them to really pan out, Cowboys have really solidified their future here

Most of the reputable draftniks had Liufau as a late round or UDFA pick. I totally agree, anybody that watched Notre Dame football would too. The dude only made 44 tackles, playing the entire season. He missed about as many as he made! Dallas absolutely required drafting a day one starter at RB, they had one fall into their lap, but they decided to waste a premium 3rd round pick on a JAG. Jalen Wright was right there for the pick, with his 4.3 speed on a 210 pound frame. He is a home run waiting to happen on every play. He pretty much always makes the first guy miss the tackle, and can accelerate to top speed in a second. Cowboys picking Liufau in the 3rd on it's own was LOL, picking him over a game breaker like Wright was simply stupid.
DM, you provide such an in-depth accurate look into the Dallas Cowboys with your analysis I would think someone in the networks would want to invest in you as a top pick.

I love this draft so far. Fix the O line and the front 7 first. Excellent strategy. Can focus on that this draft and skill positions next year after they dump Dak and McCarthy. Then they draft Arch Manning in 2026 and we’re back. Go Cowboys.

Yea or like a 5th next year and a 6th/7th this year to get in the late 4th, something like that would be really helpful and we can grab one of the remaining RB's and something else that can help the team. Either way prioritizing the future of the OLine and drafting a replacement for when DLaw is gone this year was really really big for the Cowboys, I think people are underestimating how good this draft class will be, not is yet, but will be... and I guess that's the knock because of the whole "all in" comment from Jerry. Not sure these guys help as much as we would need them this year but yea... future looking bright.

I do like the Cowboys approach in this draft with the emphasis on the lines, physicality, aggression. Glad they didn’t reach and spend high draft capital on a RB. I think you can find adequate production there with an improved line through later round picks, UDFA or another FA signing. We’ll use the committee approach for now and maybe target a stud next year

Dallas gets an A so far. They have guys that can come in and start for you. They are also significant and physical. Dallas was hurt in the trenches last season. Seeing that they addressed those issues first, gives you a little optimism for next season. However, Dallas still needs to find guys in free agency who are already proven that can get this team over the top. They draft well every year. Now it's time to find guys that can for sure get you over the hump in free agency.
Good stuff. I am not 100% sure about Guyton, but the Day 2 haul looks solid. Liuifau may be the wrecking ball we need after Vanderesch the other goofball that kept getting hurt.

As the old saying goes "it all starts up front". First 3 picks were solid foundational picks...
Now we can go get a RB
McKinley Jackson, Bucky Irving, TJ Tampa, Payton Wilson (I would risk it), Braelon Allen, Troy Franklin, Demarion Richardson, marshawn Loyd, and many more over Marist Lufaui. He’s a missile and like all of Dallas picks high ceilings but just raw. Running back was more of a need. I like his raw talent but he has a lot of polishing to do. Loyd, Irving, and Allen would make an impact Day 1. They got the juice already controlled. This guy Marist needs to learn to control the juice.
I would have loved to have Trey Benson as out lead back, but maybe we can get Braelon Allen from Wisconsin. i think the Boys have done a good job getting the o-line solidified and now a good corner would be nice.
I like they rebuilt the OLine and addressed the DE position. I trust Will McClay and his staff for doing a very good scouting job year in and year out.
I don’t understand why so many people want us to take RB behind a thin Oline that’s still in the works. Give your rookie RB the best chance at success. Don’t waste his first year of carries still trying to figure out this Oline.

I agree mostly with you, except I don't believe in running back by committee... I think RB is a rhythm, feel position and I don't think you ever really get your rythm with 5/6 carries a game unless your O line is knocking ppl back 5 yards off the line of scrimmage every snap, which is highly doubtful.. historically, we ve always had a lead back, and I think it's served us well throughout the years..
For me I'm not sold on the 2nd pick but cooper and Guyton plus the lb from Norte dame yes sir

Given the reconstruction of the Oline grabbing a DE for the future and a project linebacker that if coached right seems what jaylon smith couldve been i give us a solid B
he was not in your top 5 linebackers based on your own mock drafts. he ranked 18th on the board I was going by. only 2 linebackers had gone off the board at his pick. I'm not doubting his athleticism, I'm just doubting whether he would be ready to start in 24/25. he was a project pick and a major reach, but I do think he will be solid. Just that you could have drafted him in the 5th round and selected your running back with this pick. Braelon Allen and Marshawn Loyd were available at the time.
