Half way in and I love your honesty like "it's good stuff but diy part is bad, these stencils are nice but mine still work so I'm gonna use that up first" most reviewers are always like "oh I get to build some myself too wow! Theses stencils are amazing I'm throwing my working ones out the window" not to be stereotyping but most repair guys on here are the most honest ones
Thank you for this video, Jason. It's helpful to see tool reviews and to hear/see how you use them.
Jason, you are so funny and honest. Love watching your videos. Make more!
I hope you don't take this as sounding rude, but I think it's hilarious that you can solder the tiniest things ever under a microscope but struggle to solder big wires to humongous pads. That just cracks me up.
Tin the pads, add flux, tin the wires, hold wires with tweezers on pads, touch with iron until wet, and bam. Perfect every time. I'm sure you were just trying to be fast about it all, but it's still just really funny to me lol.
Ohhhhh how I wish I would have tinned those pads while recording this video. LOL has gotten me awful feed back! :D thanks
Hold a piece of solder between you point and middle finger, hold the wire to the bench with your thumb, and feed the solder while applying heat with soldering iron held in another hand. Even faster.
Hey man, I can't tell you how much I appreciate all your vids. I am late to the party but I learn quick and this has been a ton of fun so far. In relation to this video, after ordering the mechanic version of this box and having a set of cables being bad I understand why they thought this was a good idea, my box was also opened by customs and my cables were somehow damaged :(
It best to add solder to the board first and also the tip of the wire before soldering together.
Love your videos
It was painful to watch, always tin the pads first, it makes life so much easier
Hi Jason
I am Roni from France
Really like your vidéos,
and learn a lot. Keep going!!
I am gonna watch this one right now.
✌️
Jason I love your videos . One thing I would do differently is when you solder those connectors on get rid of the unleaded solder and Retin the wires and tin the pads with leaded solder. Will be much better joint.
watching this while i eat my baconegg sandwich was awesome i love STS videos and learned some bits and pieces as a mobile technician ...one day i may visit you
I love ur videos
U r a true professional
My dream is to have a workshop like that
But I don't think I could be as professional as you
Nice vídeo mister jason... No matter the time you spend to make a vídeo, thank you for sharing. Awesome tools, cheers
Reading description helps too 😊
Don't complain too much not worth time 💯. Looks like you need todo some soldering training they knew that 😄
It's not a mistake. I just opened mine today. I got it about two months ago. They say that they did this to avoid any damage during shipping. They need to do what the American shippers started to do which is to over package.
Welcome Jason ..How is your health ??Thank God you are shining as ever👍
Health is good. Still some dizziness when I stand up or lay down but I am a whole lot better. Thanks for asking :)
Is that from moving closer to the equator? :)
Its fun man to solder, you will solder only 1 at a time. Doesnt even take that long. That ipower is very nice.
hey, hope you are doing well, you have great videos, and you are very honest, and sometimes you make funny mistakes we learn a lot from you, however, you need to watch this video at 9:15 time, on the box it gives you the color code for connecting the wires, nevertheless, I agree with you that no company should send loose end connectors.
heya love unboxing vlog's aspecialy wen there are some many goodies in it hope the work will be easier with those new tools
Great job 😀 i need to get some more tools also
I am in my 50s, and been doing work like this for a long time.. still, I often forget to do the heat-shrink before the step ... yeah, happens to all of us.
That feeling of unboxing 😍 those stencils looks great. Is those stencils teflon plated or something similar? And thanks for the video 😊
Really fun this one :)
This caught me out too , until I read the box , but I still haven’t got round to soldering these cables after 3 weeks , the trouble with AliExpress they never give you all the info , even when going directly to there site , I did mention it to them but no reply , they say it prevents them getting damaged in post !?!
Jason, what kind of soldering paste do you use? Can you recommend any good ?Thanks
I'm curious about their precision screwdrivers. Still putting together a list, but hoping to start up a youtube channel for my shop early 2019. I do mostly pc laptop repairs … with some other odds and ends. Did an ipod classic today, those pry tools might have come in handy. Always looking at new tools :) Just did order some new Wera drivers yesterday.
sir your very good man .i all time play your video
Merci mon'ami🤗🤗🤗👋👋👏👏👏
I always watch your videos
Hi, what kind of solder paste do you use (brand/model) ? Thx
I too was surprised when I opened the box and found I needed to solder the connectors, after checking the eBay listing it did say it on the add lol but then again to be fair if a little bit of soldering was beyond you then perhaps micro soldering is not the best choice for you(not aimed at you Jason your skills are proven if not by this video proof rofl) :)
Love that chinglish 😂🤣😂 "same color !!! WINE !!!! order for other models" 2nd line in english 8:46
I sometimes end up adding some capacitance to the phone end. The wires can end up being just too long and even if the resistance drop is tolerable the inductance is too great, and even cranking up the voltage won't be enough to compensate.
...Yes ugly workaround. Ideally I'd maybe add an LDO too or something but that's a lot of trouble just for long wire compensation. Trouble with these phones is there's not much space for capacitence to begin with. If they didn't build in enough margin to compensate for MLCC degredation you can end up with an unstable device especially if it's an older one.
Since the stencils seem to be out of stock (or whatever) on the original website, I found them on UnionRepair. Just search for "QianLi" on unionrepair.com and you will find them. Or use the following links:
Baseband: www.unionrepair.com/toolplus-communication-base-band-bga-reballing-stencil.html
Power, logic: www.unionrepair.com/qianli-toolplus-iphone-power-logic-module-bga-reballing-iblack-black-stencil.html

CPU (for the brave): www.unionrepair.com/qianli-toolplus-iphone-cpu-module-bga-reballing-iblack-black-stencil.html
They also seem to have "3D" and "Japan Superhigh Precision" series of stencils, but I am usure which ones are actually better quality.
Hi Jason what are those stencils made of?
this all tool is too good👍👍👍👍sir i power pro tool work on short iphone for check board shorting
can i reball iphone se nand in the 6s location on the stencil
Where did you get the blue desk mat?
Your cabin is very good for doing mobile phone repairing.
Thank u!
Hi, love the videos maybe 2 year old video but can't find geekbar.tools online anymore.
Would suspect the reason you have to put leads together is that if you use this all the time you may stuff up the end. To combat that you can buy new ends. But yes you may save $5 and spend $10 in time.
7.05 no it’s not mistake that’s how they deliver it .
were can i find the installer program for qianli tool plus can you send me the link to download installer thank you
nice..im from indonesia..keep making video
I would imagine the lead soldering and plastic box would be to cut the cost down.
If i had assembled the leads, i would have loaded each pad with a fat dome of solder, then the lead would sink into the solder, but that's just me :-D.
Like the T shirt, it confuses the brain nicely :-D
That would be much easier than what I did in this video. Would have had a free hand to use wire solder too. This shirt has been driving people nuts all day. It gives me a headache to look at it!
I seen another unboxing of that iPhone power leads and the soldering of the ends by the enduser is apparently intentional.
Gosh, you really are missing the roots to solder nicely 😁 old-school way. But you can do stencils and hot-air LOL
Iphone 7,unable to activate after restore through iTunes, top left corner has an exclamation mark/no service. Also posted on your patron page, but no response for 7 days.
I have been thinking for a while now. So here is the question - How did you keep your hot air station so quite, even your microphone cannot pick up the diaphragm noise throughout your filming. Did you pipe external pump to the unit and kept quite all these while. :-)
Hi Jason.
Can't see those stencils on their website - only one I see there is the iPhone 6/6+ one :(
Hrmmm... It looks like they are not for sale yet. The iPhone 6 stencil on their website isn't the same one. They have a post on Instagram saying they will be available for purchase in November.
Thank you for checking it :)
They should make a Jason box so we can order what you got.
I bough this box, got a few days ago, When I try to use the FPC Iphone 7G the FPC won't fit. Well any of both FPC marked for Iphone 7G and Iphone 7P won't fit the IPhone 7 FPC receptor. The Iphone I am trying to turn on to test this box is an Iphone 7 (A1660) what it supposed to be The FPC 7G marked. I know there are two version of Iphone 7, The Qualcom and Intel. What point I am losing? if you or someone here may direct me how to turn on an Iphone 7 with this box? Maybe a bad batch of FPC from Quiali or there two different motherboard FPC for Iphone 7 Qualcom and Intel?
Give the man a cigar, he guessed it right🗣
genius !!!!!
I think it came unsoldered is due to it being so fragile during transport EDIT: Confirmed, i typed the first comment before seeing the info about it..
I thought there was something wrong with my monitor. Your caffeine shirt messed me up. Good video Jason
Thanks. The shirt has been making people nuts all day. It gave me a headache to edit this video.
They probably do it that way so the leads don’t break off while in transit
Same DIY squid I got from Rossmann, so it's a supplier issue.
They are nice and work well but ppl should know about the DIY part before ordering. I couldn’t find that info on the website in my links. I didn’t know Rossmann sold them.
@@ststele near instant sadness when I opened the box.
Hahaha. “Some assembly required”.
i used 60-40 tead and 40watts easy to join those tip wire.....the rest of the vid is funny...lol!!!
you have to hold the button until it boots
They do ship them like that, you have to solder them together when you get them. It’s madness. Jc pro do one that’s all together with no soldering required,
No it is no a mistake, this new version comes with not soldered cables :(
just switch on your brain and think.... it's of course faster and better for them to react on new phone models only supplying with a new connector instead of having tons of pre produced cables with old connectors, nobody needs anymore, laying around....
grab a bunch ob cables, supply a bag of the newest connectors... ready you go...
and i really can't understand Jason here crying 20 times in this video why the connectors are not soldered.... man if he had used this time crying to solder, he'd finished all... better than opening all those cards one after another...
When you buy stuff from china and send it with fast couriers do you pay import tax? If yes for stuff $100 how much you pay for tax?
Are these beautiful black stencils is not available?
why are you biting me? :С

You have to solder! I receive same like you! Strange!
Link doesn't work.
Least you can blame yourself if the solder fails on them connectors under the heat shrink and not the factory lol
Hi I enjoy watching your video sir you do a good job for what it is I am technician myself so I understand we all make mistakes but learn from it cool is there a way we can communicate and build as well learn from each other please get back to me my name is Joey
For a tool you'd use daily, you really should have tinned the pads before soldering your connections
(You'll see what i mean when you're using them daily)
VCC AND VDD. What is the difference?
Same thing :-)
One is C and one is D ? Lol
Or is that 2 is C and 2 is D bahaha
How to unlock iCloud manually
Think it would be better to tin the pad first.
Over the years I've got increasingly annoyed about insulation that 'fries' with applied heat. Heatshrink is fine for mechanical support but shouldn't be necessary for anything other than an inline repair.
wow that sucks it's like a chainsaw without the chain
1:09:41 - The wife does....
geekbar doesn't exist anymore
Hi
Hello
Jajajaja
that is the most disturbing shirt i ever witnessed ,dang it
the white squid is what am using ,its good stuff
I know you all like dp 😂😂😂😂😂
ONE MINUTE TO DIY? 😅😂🤣😤
