A lot of people who have never really sparred or been in an actual match don't really understand how devastating those kicks to the legs are. The first two or three might not hurt that much but by like number 8 your legs feel like they're on fire with every kick. Hurts to even stand. Seriously diminishes your stand up game.
I do kyukoshin for 7 mounth and i can totally understand what you are talking about that shiit hurts so bad plus if you dont have strong knees you cant even defend against it
My first Muay Thai instructor once broke his friend's leg by accident. His friend was goofing around kicking him and he just instinctively fired back without meaning to. He felt terrible about it but probably not as bad as his friend.
While it's fun to watch these different sportsmen fight each other,it is not an accurate representation, the skill of the fighter is also verry important,if an amateur fights a pro, then that's not what 2 equal fighters fight would look like
Exactly that was what I was thinking. I mean like there is a boxing vs judo or karate or anything. And also there is Mike Tyson on his prime vs judo or karate or anything. It's totally different. Like already if you consider Mike Tyson vs Boxing, he KO'ed any boxer. So you can't say oh boxing is lame than. I don't know any of these fighters. Are they really good at on their profession or are they amateur. I mean only way to judge a little better you have to compete champions of those profession . Or better top 10 vs top 10 to have any better judgement. Even than there are some champs that have other black belts on other professions. Maybe not champs on others but have knowladge and skill. But still at least you can say top 10 list karate fighters win against top 10 judo fighters or the reverse. But it's almost meaningless to get any conclusion with random level fighters fighting each other. Everyday on same profession they beat each other.
yea but when it comes to 2 people of equal experience, I think martial arts will stand out mostly because they have to deal with the hands too, boxers never have to deal with the feet.
Kudos to the boxing dude even daring to go up against those brutal leg kicks and continually standing up. He really felt it the first time he got swept.
Kudos to the boxer, but shame on the promoter making a kickboxing rules matchup where one guy doesn't even know how to check low kicks. This could have been an interesting matchup if the boxer had just a little bit of training before the match.
@@pointless.speculations6741 it wasn’t cruel on the promoter at all, it literally just showed how inferior boxing is compared to Muay Thai. If you wanna stay heavy on that lead leg & have a bladed stance you get punished.
@@montagmoon2248 such a delusional comment lol. If you see an area that you’re art excels in why wouldn’t you capitalize on it and showcase what your art has to offer. Like I said before if you want to stay heavy on that lead leg with a bladed stance you get punished by Thai boxing which is superior
Good one. That last fight shows what happens when the other fighter is just slightly aware of your system. He nullified the double leg with sprawling and knees in the Thai clinch. The "Thai boxer" seemed more knowledgeable in BJJ than the BJJ fighter was in Thai Boxing. He had no idea how to get out of the clinch.
That's what sums it up the BEST here. All these fighters are usually trained to fight other fighters that are trained in the SAME ART. Well, surprise, surprise!!
@Paul Blackman still not like martial arts dude were going all out. Boxers are inferior you can only use your hands, meanwhile mma is designed to kill u not to knockout u just way too many rules dont allow it but still in a street fight sorry but boxers have no chance they dont even know how to fight on the ground.
The kickboxer at 3:20 Don Wilson said in an interview that he is ambidextrous in his hands and feet. That means that while most people are right handed, he was equally proficient in both hands both feet. So he could switch stance constantly on people.
Many martial artists from kicking systems (that respect hand techniques) can do that. I personally lead from a southpaw stance but I'm right handed. I just use which ever stance I prefer based on the situation. I try to teach this to all my students. You can have a dominant side, but you should never have a weak side.
The best martial art is actualy the chineese kung fu the traditional monk version It can only be practiced in china. And its not opened to foreigners Its export version (wushu, shaolin) in foreign countries are very watered down and very soften version.with lot of things missing i dont know why
@Danny D Dog You sound like you just came out of a bad Chinese B movie. Grow up. How old are you? Did you graduate from High school? When you finally begin to discriminate between reality and fake movie stuff you'll understand how important it is to remove yourself from stupid people that end up injuring themselves and others.

@Danny D Dog "It's never that's all." Most MMA fighters train with a ring mind set and things like eye and groin strikes and biting make a lot of the ground game useless in a street fight with someone whos experienced in it. Kinda like how John Jones caught a lot of flack for using eye strikes in the UFC and how they quickly got rid of groin strikes way back in the 90s....
@@Schlitzmiller MMA is the most complete version of combat sports. You do good in MMA, you’ll do good in a street fight. Just because they don’t nut kick and eye gouge in MMA (or at least it’s against the rules, it still happens) doesn’t mean that they *can’t* do it. An untrained person can do it, why can’t pro fighters? Why would they not kick your nuts or gouge your eyes out if you tried to do it to them?
As a boxer myself I see muay thai as an improvement on boxing. That is not to say boxing isn’t a great martial art because I feel it is very undestimated in its complexity
You can not improve boxing with Muay thai, Muay thai is a lot diffrent than it seems look where is the hand position and narrow stance you need to change style if you want to use Muay Thai to full potential. No hate but Muay Thai is superior to boxing.
As a practitioner of Thai Boxing, Wing Chun and Boxing i Say that if a elite boxers close the distances (in a striking bout) the other oppenent Is in serious troubles.
The Thai boxer has an advantage in the kicking range and the clinching range. But yes, the boxer has a massive advantage in the boxing range in between.
This is actually a super important and historic video that settles a lot of debates in the MMA community. You don’t really see style fights with no cross training like this anymore. The most surprising ones are judo beats wrestling since it has submissions and you can use your own gi for chokes, and Muay Thai clinch beats BJJ.
The "Muay Thai guy" was definitely trained in grappling and sprawled well, overwhelmingly Muay thai guys who don't grapple get taken down. Also there should be no surprise about Judo beating wrestling but this was a very dominant example because he fully defended the takedown with a sprawl and choked him out right away, with the no gi advantage for the wrestler. Bjj is just moves from Judo used in a different ruleset, they learned them from Judo originally. Bjj guys were beating wrestlers for similar reasons a judoka would bc they have the same tools the wrestler doesn't.
No its not lmao. 4 random clips of random people fighting eachother says NOTHING about which martial art is better AT ALL. Thats like doing a medical trial and a pill works for one person so you put it on the market lmao. I hope you dont use this kind of logic elsewhere in life because you'll come to equally incorrect assumptions. Nothing about this video is "historic" or proves any of these martial arts better than the other.
everyone is at a different level in their discipline. You can't say karate loses to boxing in every instance. It depends on the people who are fighting at the given time, not which martial art is best, because none can be better and all can be better. Depends solely on the individual.
True and the knowledge of the other discipline. With 1 year of pratice I beated by k.o. my best mate with 6 year of french savate (french boxing). Not becuase I was amazing, but because my friend didn't expect a jodan ushiro geri. After he told my ushiro geri come from nowhere. I don't think so, it was a matter of knowledge and practice. Savate doesn't use that kind of kick.
it's not just about cross training. For exemple there is a lot of karate style, some of them do not practice grappling and floor, like some of them practice weapons.
My first Muay Thai coach told me "Ji Jitsu are terrified of getting crushed with a knee in the face while trying to take the fight to the floor. Muay Thai are terrified of the fight ending up on the floor. Fortunately for Muay Thai, most fights start with having to take the fight to the floor." The last fight @6.18 with Muay Thai and Ji Jitsu was the highest level contest and was a classic result. The Muay Thai fighter had good takedown defenses in keeping his legs away from the Ji Jitsu fighter, and kept the fight standing. The Ji Jitsu fighter never had a chance to do his shit.
That fight was hard to watch. Those punches in the back of the head at the end too, didnt look like much but when its back there it doesnt need to be. Hard to compare martial art vs martial art when the skill of each fighter is a big factor.
Sadly the only takedown that guy knew seems to be the double under. This is lame as jiu-jitsu is a martial art full of throwing tehniques of wich some are 100% effective
@@MatthewChoices Yeah, he never even tried to block the knees to the face, which is pretty strange. One would expect him to at least block and try to grab the knee for a single-leg takedown. I don't think you can make any conclusions about the effectiveness of either art from that fight.
As someone who’s done both karate, taekwondo, Muay Thai(the one that I’m doing rn), and a little bit of boxing and wrestling, pretty much all of these fights went as I expected. While karate and taekwondo have some pretty good side and front/push kicks, they (at least the schools I went to) teach you pretty horrible hand work. We were never taught the peekaboo stile or even to keep are hands up near our face (idk if maybe some schools teach you this but not any that I know), so it’s no wonder that taekwondo lost against boxing. Also, unlike in Muay Thai taekwondo and karate teach you to kick with with the palm of your foot instead of your shins so it’s only gonna be effective if you catch them in the jaw with it. However, in Muay Thai they teach you to kick with the chins which are far more devastating, and the handwork is pretty much the same as boxing. You put a boxer up against a Muay Thai fighter with Thai rules they Thai kickboxer is gonna win every time, even if it’s Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson or Floy Mayweather. But if you go by boxing rules where they’re only allowed to punch, that’s a different story. I was actually kinda surprised that Muay Thai won against, just because I figured the BJJ fighter would just immediately take him to the ground and it’d be all over. He did attempt that but while we’re not taught any ground work we are taught to clinch and resist being thrown to the ground so if the BJJ guy doesn’t get you on the ground it’s he’s gonna get absolutely destroyed like the one in this video
bruder lebensgeschichte, habs mir durchgelesen diggi. Man hat einfach gesehen, dass Muay Thai mit der richtigen Ausführung schon ne Obermacht ist...salame
At the karate club I went to, the emphasis was very much on keeping your hands up and preparing your entrance with lots of feints. Legs were also a huge thing.
I was just thinking that. I like watching old mixed martial arts fights when it was this form against that form. Now days mixed martial arts is its own form. Only difference now is what original martial art you base it from.
@@lalhminghluatlau3086, when mixed martial arts tournaments started MMA wasn't a form in itself. It was 1 firm against another... i.e. boxing vs karate...judo vs Tae Kwon do.. etc. MMA as a form is a fairly new. So I do know what MMA means. I was just stating that in the beginning MMA as a form of martial art didnt exist, it was just a name for a tournament style.
This so much! I LOVE these old styles/form vs styles/form. You could really tell the guys who took their discipline serious versus guys who didn't. It was also awesome seeing the sponsorships, achievements and tournament badges on the GI indicating what level these guys were at in their fighting career. It's a shame that it's all become diluted down and a lot less interesting these days. These clips also show the kind of fights I longed for in the UFC, instead of karate vs BJJ, kickboxing vs Judo, Tae Kwon Do vs wrestling. It was kind of obvious who the winners were going to be from some of the match-ups. I really wanted to see Kenpo vs Boxing, Karate vs Tae Kwon Do, and Kickboxing vs Kung Fu, and Muay Thai vs Pankra.
The very reason I took up kickboxing as a younger man..I lost my second fight when I went to square up because of that unexpected leg kick. He never hit me after I hit the ground but a loss is a loss. It taught me everything. I appreciated that day
Good stuff Kenshi! I started Muay Thai after entering a fight as a Kung Fu practitioner and getting kneed in the solarplexus/diaphragm by my opponent, and not being able to breathe for a bit... if you can't beat them join them (or at least learn from them) ;-) right?
This is the best martial art confronting prediction example video I can see. Huge props to the creator. This shows as for the first example the karate guy had no takedown defense and had no idea how bjj fighting style works so he got cracked up. While the Muay thai and Judo fighters had absolute takedown defense and showed the world how to f**k bjj up.
The fight at 3:16 is Don "The Dragon" Wilson vs Art Jimmerson in 1987. Jimmerson you may recall is the first guy to fight Royce Gracie at UFC 1 in 1993.
I knew that was Don Wilson. I took a 3 hour seminar with him in my Kenpo school in 1990. I was 17. I could also tell by the way he pumps those roundhouse kicks. 8 years in karate and I respect all of the fighting arts.
Another reminder almost 50 years after his death; Man, the living creature, the creating individual, is always more important than any established style or system. ~Bruce Lee
This is why I gave up with Katsu Karate….I found the kata too strict. I wanted something more fluid that could be adapted to any fight. I didn’t know then I was looking for Bruce Lee’s own technique. I eventually fell in with a team who promoted free style kick-boxing….basically we trained with all forms of MA, plus armed combat techniques. When we trained in a national events, our team would wipe the floor of most other teams…they couldn’t keep up with us. Our training regime was brutal, our trainer called it ‘gladiator training’…work until you puke mentality was the norm. Hard but effective 👍. We would do our training after the other clubs had finished their training sessions…boxing club, karate club and us all trained in the same dojo. Some of other students would watch us train and a couple would spar with us…they would not last very long in a sparring match. Every member would fight each other member for one minute, flat out fighting. That means one person fighting up to 13 members without a break! Man, my legs were like jelly! 😂 Great times 😃👍
"The best fighter's kicks are too good for a boxer, his throws are too good for a karate man and his punches are too good for a judo man" -Bruce Lee. Tao of jkd has moves from judo/jiu-jitsu, wrestling, muay thai, karate, similar to modern MMA
The only thing wrong with JKD and MMA in general, is that it takes decades of training to become really good at all of the different aspects of the art, so that you can use all of the different aspects fluidly, and it all works effectively together. 95% of people who learn a multi skilled art, end up just being average at everything, and then when somebody who is really good at one thing takes them on, they get destroyed. I really love Lethwei, and think in theory, it is the most devastating of all the arts, but an average level Lethwei guy would get destroyed by a wrestler/judo if the grappler was extremely good at his art.
@I Yam What I Yam! not to mention he had been in several fights, sparred Pro kickboxers, rolled with champion wrestlers and a champion judokas and he beat Gary Elms in a boxing match, who was the previous years champion. So ignorant....as usual, go read a book or is that too much trouble for your small minded self?

Not surprised at Muay Thai fights especially against the Boxer, this video demonstrates that to be a well rounded fighter you need to have a knowledge of boxing, kicks and ju Jutsui or at least how to counter them, very entertaining.
It be much better with more skilled fighter the boxer in that fight looked very out of shape and quite old it would be a great fight if a Muay Thai world champion fought a boxing world champion
It does, that is in big part why jiu jitsu and high level grappling stomped everyone in the original UFCs. People had no clue what to do once Royce got his hands on them. I’m not saying Royce wouldn’t beat them anyways if they did because he was a strong martial artist regardless, but the last clip of this video said something like Muay Thai vs jiu jitsu, the Muay Thai guy stuff a takedown and then KOd the jiu jitsu guy, they don’t teach you how to stuff takedowns in Muay Thai, there are no takedowns in Muay Thai, that guy learned some defensive wrestling on top of his Muay Thai, if he’s training Muay Thai and defensive wrestling should it even be called Muay Thai vs jiu jitsu anymore? At that point they are pretty much just training mma how a good trainer would have worked him.
In my style of karate that kind of thing wouldn't fly as a viable technique in a competition. But since this is a punch martial art vs a striking martial art fight the boxer won't kick or block with his legs
My coach made the point the other day that It's good to be really good at something and have enough of the other disciplines to keep in where you're comfortable. This compilation does a great job demonstrating that. I will say, I think strict BJJ is a bit overrated due to MMA practitioners having success with it. MMA Jiu Jitsu and strict Jiu Jitsu are very different, and the Muay Thai fight at the end really shows why ground fighters need to be able to deal with effective striking. This isn't to dismiss BJJ as it is an incredible art, but it needs to be balanced, and as it is in vogue with the MMA community at the moment, I do believe it's been overexaggerated in its effectiveness on its own.
As only training Strictly BJJ I completely agree. It's great to use if it's against one person, but if you're against a group of attackers you don't want to be on the ground. That's why I want to get into Boxing.
@@s33j4y8 You 100 percent should check out boxing. It's a great sport, and its focus on hands carries over to stuff like mma super well if you remember to incorporate it
Thank you! This is 1000% correct. I see so many people say every other traditional martial art "isn't effective" because some UFC RUclipsr told them so, and only "BJJ and Muay Thai is effective". In reality, it all boils down to the fighter/martial artist, and their training technique. At the end we saw a guy who had great BJJ technique get stomped by a guy who had better Muay Thai technique.
I have personally found BJJ to be super effective when in a 1 on 1 situation. I would never incorporate it were I to be outnumbered. If that situation did arise, then my boxer's hat would go on straight away, followed by a 200m sprint.
My only problem with early UFC (especially UFC 1) is that it is basically rigged to favour BJJ practitioners to popularise BJJ so it makes the fights with a BBJ practitioner (especially a Gracie ) less exiting
@Kevin Alvarado well seeing as the entire point of UFC was to spread BJJ’s influence the Gracies had a large influence on the rules, participants and how the matches were set up. This shows more noticeably in the fact the majority of fighters were fucking nobodys, no professional wrestlers or judokas, professional heavyweight boxers, k1 kyokoshin karatekas or Lumpinee champion muay thai fighters. ruclips.net/video/I_tMkWoUN18/видео.html
@Kevin Alvarado no, the matches were set up so that the royce gracie (bjj dude) would win. Even the commentators were told what to say about bjj. Look it up, one of the commentators were interviewed and he revealed that he was told what to say and the matches were rigged to advertise bjj

@Golden Robodude alot boxer went into muay thai training but they had bad habits, especially checking leg kicks and they are abit reluctant to do kicks. over relying on upper body strikings. imho i suggest to do tkd/hapido first as a kid then follow by strictly boxing and then muay thai(adding back the leg kicks) and bjj. as a kid i believe foundation is really important, you let them do boxing first they will be reluctant to do kicks when they grow older, especially kicks to mid and high section, at least i've seen most of them have this habit. tkd is pretty useless on its own, but i realized most tkd background people are way smoother with their footwork, they move around move more often and they are not afraid of throwing kicks. learning how to kick first, means even after strict training for boxing for prolong period of time of learning upper body-head movements etc etc. suddenly you move them to muay thai, they WON'T be as relunctant as most boxers transiting into mma/muay thai in throwing leg kicks. and finally bjj. maybe 70% bjj gi/nogi and 30% muay thai training before going mma. imo this will be best to have a more complete game.

Jerome le Banner was a world class kick boxer, seeing him taking down a guy with his fists only, is a demonstration on how good he is, at everything he does.
Legend has it that the boxer was told to tap early in case the jiujitsu guy had him in some sort of lock, to avoid injury. It's really hard to even see if the jiujitsu guy had any sort of finisher on the guy when he tapped. That could have also confused the referee.

It's not the style, it's the fighter (and his/her training, conditioning, size, etc). In the 'boxing v. TKD' I thought the 'boxer' really knew what he was doing. Good job getting inside the range of those long kicks, lifting his leg on the close range stuff.
Wow, so you have a point..., Sort of. It is all about the fighter and the will to win. But it's amazing what just a little bit of training will do. I did boxing in highschool, my aunt dated a boxer and he would come over and show me combos and defense and basically showed me the ropes on how to box. Then I started doing MMA. I spared this cocky boxer one day...I asked him straight up!!!"how you wanna do this? Boxing, kickboxing, how do you wanna do this? He said "I don't f'ing care man come on let's go". We squared up...I faked a jab, threw a leg kick. He bent over to block the leg kick...I landed a right hand that sent him backpedaling four or five steps and he landed on his ass!!! @Danny D Dog Joaquin Buckley wants to know your location lmfao. Seriously, yes, TKD by itself is limited and not the most trustworthy of styles in a combat situation. Doesn’t mean it’s totally pointless. Especially if you go to a really good TKD school that spars full contact and attends full contact tournaments and such. Plenty of fighters train or have trained in TKD in MMA, Anthony Pettis being another great example.

Havy weight wc in thai boxing. The boxer i never seen before except aginst Ignashov in this K1 fight. Sad he lost to alchol
The kick boxer would have to switch his stance up to get enough power for a kick. The Boxer could circle away from his dominate leg, then have enough time to get out of the way when the kick boxer attempts to switch. Or, close the distance when he attempts to switch to land some blows. Obviously a boxer has the advantage on the inside, by boxer I mean Mike Tyson or any other decent pro, not sure about this guy!
Muai Thai kicks go up to 130 miles per hour bro. Boxer would need to defend with his knee or putting leg on the side. He doesnt know that. If he just circles around a kick from the left side is going to be coming even faster. Muai thai is about balance and combo kicks.
It's helpful to think of martial arts as a violent form of rock paper scissors. There is no best single form, they all have their strengths and weaknesses, which is why any serious fighter needs to train in several disciplines. This feels an obvious point to make, but there are lots of people in these comments arguing about which is the 'best' art.
While I agree with the comments that you should, rather, learn from all martial arts, when it comes to winning fights it does depend on how experienced the fighter is in their respective discipline(s). So it's not so much that one martial art is better than another, but that one fighter is better than another.
I see many people say that grappling works better against striking , it actually depends on the practitioner not on the style, so it's good if you're good at it and it's bad if you're bad at it.
Well props to the boxer. He fought with a great disadvantage from the get go. Im sure he was good but those tai kicks are so powerful and then make you take your guard down
A true martial artist doesn't compare one art form to another, he or she utilize them all to their benefits and learn ruos from each art form and combative competition.
Also it should be said a martial artist and a fighter are not the same thing. Bruce Lee is a great example of a martial artist. However he was a not fighter.
In 1899, a team of judo/jiu-jutsu instructors led by Yukio Tani toured the United Kingdom, challenging our fighters (boxers and wrestlers in those days): they were never beaten. Soon afterwards, in 1918, the first judo club outside of Japan was established in London by Gunji Koizumi with Tani as its chief instructor - the Budokwai.
@Danny D Dog Why can't people just admit muay thai beats boxing? Why are boxers so touchy about their sport. Muay thai admits it will lose to wrestling and MMA so why is boxing so above reproach? Obviously, more tools=greater chance of victory.
Sounds like your sense was trying to keep you believing that his style wasn't B S. Maybe he taught a legitimate martial art, but that's not the kind of thing I'd except to hear from someone teaching a legitimate martial art. I also don't expect someone teaching a legitimate martial art to be refered to as sensei. Coach or trainer. I trust those titles. Sensei and master are red flags to me as titles of con artists selling snake oil. Don't drink the coolaid.
The art of 8 limbs against the art of two would always be unfair. As beautiful and skillful as boxing is you would need to be facing an opponent at a vastly inferior level.
Not always. In fact in Muay Thai, MANY top guys were beaten simply by Americans with boxing backgrounds who learned mt & played the punch game after checking the kicks of the mt guys. They basically learned to check kicks & only punched. MANY ko reels if you've ever bothered to look.
not true boxers hit harder than most other martial arts and they take hits better than all of them. a karate person or a taekwondo or any other martial art that doesn't have to do with grappling would be destroyed by a boxer if they were cornered by one.

Unlike other mainstream standing martial arts, as you probably know, Thai fighters like to fight in the clinch. Most Thai fighters i know are really good at defending takedowns
Also depends on who you fight with...If you fought with young Tyson, then no matter what form of fight you have, the chances of you got beaten up is incredible high
If young Tyson was taken to the ground he'd be lost and all his power would do little for him. Just look what skinny Gracie did to the uninitiated fighters in UFC 1 and 2
My step-dad was a legit professional boxer. He was some sort of Army champ, golden glove and was an Olympic alternate. He made the cover of KO magazine as "the next big thing in boxing". Love you Georg, but man we're you wrong
This fight was in Brazil, in 90's. The name of fighter Muay Thay is José Landy, the "Pelé". He's was great fighter. See in YT, his fight vs Jorge Patino, the "Macaco" (Monkey, in Brazilian Portuguese). But the most fights BJJ vs Muay thai, in 90's, the BJJ was winner. It's a fact.
It all depends on which fighter you encounter, a great Boxer like Mike Tyson in his prime for example would beat almost any Karate, Kickboxer, MMA and Muay Thai fighter in the world. His technique alone would've rendered anyone who relied on kicks obsolete, he fought close quarters and with lethal speed, accuracy and strength combinations.
If he don't know how to react to a low kick it is very unlikely for a boxer to win against a MT fighter, and a MMA guy can take the fight to the floor easily if the other guy can't defend a takedown
Even though I truly admire Tyson, I really dont think he could beat a good Thai fighter. He had excelent defense and offense against other boxers, but that would not help him against kicks, knees and elbows. Specially leg kicks.
Thats the easiest and smartest defense vs a boxer. Take their legs out first, then you are able to do as you will because he can not stand while keeping your distance. The 2nd kickboxer was stupid, he barely tried that tactic and just kept going for the head. Those high axe kicks leave you wide open for overhands and body shots all day.
Grapplers are always gonna be better if the opponent doesn’t know how to grapple. Jiu Jitsu will usually beat wrestlers if the wrestler doesn’t know how to neutralize their opponents jiu jitsu
@Miguel Bollain that’s one example of a guy who is not used to performing takedowns (because of jiu Jitsu). Ask khabib if it’s hard to take someone down while getting elbowed
There's something interesting at the 2 minute mark. The jiu-jitsu guy seems to be throwing some phantom punches to prove he could seriously hurt the karate guy, but he's choosing not to. Whereas the karate guy seems to go for eye gouges and biting a few times.
That one didn't make sense even I could have tagged the jujitsu figter at least twice before being speared and the fact the karate guy didnt hit at all tells me that was fake
@@puepole On the street, a boxer could bust up their un-taped, ungloved hands. A decent Karate/Muay Thai/Kung Fu/BJJ practitioner can incapacitate a boxer opponent without even making a fist. Boxing is great for learning punches, combinations, feints, guard, timing, positioning, etc. though. Even Bruce Lee studied and was a fan of western boxing. I exploited boxers' forearms and legs when I sparred them. They tend not to toughen their limbs like Kung Fu or Muay Thai fighters do, and sticky hands, unconventional strikes/traps/locks or leg sweeps/kicks are not something that boxers train for. On the street, there's even more that boxers aren't trained for, like grasping/tearing/gouging/poking techniques.
RKmndo UFC showed that when its all said and done everyone reverts back to the punch; so it sounds like you’ve only fought morons because had you come up against any boxer/ fighter worth their salt, they’d knock you out/ down every which way round purely with his timing. A lot of people who have never really sparred or been in an actual match don't really understand how devastating those kicks to the legs are. The first two or three might not hurt that much but by like number 8 your legs feel like they're on fire with every kick. Hurts to even stand. Seriously diminishes your stand up game.
I do kyukoshin for 7 mounth and i can totally understand what you are talking about that shiit hurts so bad plus if you dont have strong knees you cant even defend against it
Facts, the first swipe reminded me when I got swiped like that, I didn't fell but it hurt like hell for a week after.
My first Muay Thai instructor once broke his friend's leg by accident. His friend was goofing around kicking him and he just instinctively fired back without meaning to. He felt terrible about it but probably not as bad as his friend.
True. Until you've been there you'll never know the hell you go through for about 2 months after being kicked several times. Miserable.
Even the first one...
While it's fun to watch these different sportsmen fight each other,it is not an accurate representation, the skill of the fighter is also verry important,if an amateur fights a pro, then that's not what 2 equal fighters fight would look like
Agreed. Also the better man in that moment wins regardless of discipline

4 random clips of random people fighting eachother says NOTHING about which martial art is better AT ALL. everyone is at a different level in their discipline. You can't say karate loses to boxing in every instance. It depends on the people who are fighting at the given time, not which martial art is best, because none can be better and all can be better. Depends solely on the individual.

My first Muay Thai coach told me "Ji Jitsu are terrified of getting crushed with a knee in the face while trying to take the fight to the floor. Muay Thai are terrified of the fight ending up on the floor. Fortunately for Muay Thai, most fights start with having to take the fight to the floor."
The last fight @6.18 with Muay Thai and Ji Jitsu was the highest level contest and was a classic result. The Muay Thai fighter had good takedown defenses in keeping his legs away from the Ji Jitsu fighter, and kept the fight standing. The Ji Jitsu fighter never had a chance to do his shit.

Good insight. Read the whole thing
Not really surprised about the Muay Thai one honestly. Those knees and elbows are brutal. Most BJJ guys suck ass at takedowns, too.

Well Muay Thai fighters can do clinch and neck wrestling though lol 😅

I agree. Jiu-Jitsu is the best complement for any other martial art or discipline.
Those early UFC's were the closest thing we ever got to a real life Mortal Kombat. Check them out if you haven't.
@Kevin Alvarado nope, he said exactly what i said
@Kevin Alvarado he prob denied it because the purpose of the early ufc fights was to promote bjj

i suggest to do tkd/hapido first as a kid then follow by strictly boxing and then muay thai(adding back the leg kicks) and bjj.
as a kid i believe foundation is really important, you let them do boxing first they will be reluctant to do kicks when they grow older, especially kicks to mid and high section, at least i've seen most of them have this habit.
tkd is pretty useless on its own, but i realized most tkd background people are way smoother with their footwork, they move around move more often and they are not afraid of throwing kicks.
learning how to kick first, means even after strict training for boxing for prolong period of time of learning upper body-head movements etc etc.
suddenly you move them to muay thai, they WON'T be as relunctant as most boxers transiting into mma/muay thai in throwing leg kicks.
and finally bjj.
maybe 70% bjj gi/nogi and 30% muay thai training before going mma.

In the 'boxing v. TKD', the 'boxer' is in fact Jérôme Le Banner, french Kickboxer... And he's a beast...
@Danny D Dog yes but if you mix it with kickboxing can be pretty good
@Danny D Dog ya you can, iv seen it first hand kickboxers mixing some TKO, some of their kicks are good, but ya some are to flashy
He ripped of his gloves with his teeth. Said fuck this and stormed off pissed as hell.
This is a great video and as a Martial artist I can tell these guys are real Martial artist and are practicing the fights in the description, but no Martial art is bad, it is good to mix them up for the best effectiveness that's what I do.
The boxer in the first clip could vastly improve his chances, simply by circling in the opposite direction.
Yeah, but the other guy was legs-bi-dextrous. What then, run vertically?
Circle into a leg kick
The Red Scorpion Ignasjov was not anybody, when he was sober or not so drunk in the ring, he could take out whatever you put up against him, not only by kicks, but punches ass well.
All Asian martial arts are trash excpet maybe Muay thai
I like that analogy, a rock paper scissors.
@imadxv Tonpe road,Cuttack,India.I'll leave the door open.
While I agree with the comments that you should, rather, learn from all martial arts, when it comes to winning fights it does depend on how experienced the fighter is in their respective discipline(s). So it's not so much that one martial art is better than another, but that one fighter is better than another.
Exactly well said
Exactly. Casuals don't realise that.
Martial Arts that train with actively resisting opponents tend to do better. It’s not just a simple matter of fighter experience.
