Aqua's character is like a introverted assassin with a split personality. Like sealing away the dark nature to obscure the identity.
All shy and innocent, until a switch gets flipped with a keyword.
I remember reading a manga about girls who has what is called a 'medusa' syndrome, basically they turn into cold blooded killers when pushed to the brink, and manifests their 'killer persona', and the prison these girls are sent to, trained them to 'activate' on command and they have no memories of what they were doing when they turn back to normal. But their killer sides remembers everything, even if they know something that could help them secure their independence or freedom, their sadistic nature defies that.
The protagonist of that manga nearly killed her brother who tried to sneak into said prison facility basically (he himself is a siscon, but also something akin to a very skilled investigator/journalist), and these girls are 'trained' to be killers by initially fighting one another in deathmatches, then later on in the story sent on assassination missions against dangerous underworld criminals and such. They are basically the government's own 'killing machines'.
Oh yeah, there's also a lot of scenes that aren't for kids lol.

She was always, she didn't earn her Mad Dog status yet, but she is always called 'Gamer Maid' due to her efforts in FPS specially in Apex. She was always running solo, and when Aqua, Suisei and Towa formed their group unit Startend, It proven that Aqua is harder to handle due to that she forgot and kept leaving her two teammates behind which is actually hilarious in stream since Towa and Suisei is screaming Aqua's name at the worst to bring her back as if there's a tether at her neck.... like a MAD DOG she is.
After that stream, many Vtubers and streamers who watched the exhibition or their streams for how Relentless Aqua is.
As if she was an EVA 1, A Gojira, A Kraken, a Guard waiting to be unleashed.
She Earned it rightfully and from there that Nickname is stuck whenever she plays FPS or APEX.

Before I thought she was just that oddity that the pro find amazing and moved on but maybe after the Vsaikyo tourney they finally embraced her existence, I mean they were keeping an eye on her when she did the solo master runs.

I always said that she could be predator rank if she really wanted.
The difference between Predator and Master is the sum of playing time. Now all need the same grinding time so they are all stucked in the same lower rank.
Predator means that Minato Aqua has to give up her Idol activities.

The use of her live2D model while playing Apex had created lag issues in the past and she cannot really afford to add even more hardships to this already difficult challenge.
she wants to but she can't... Tech problems make it hard for her to stream, play, and have the L2D on at the same time... Even now she constantly has streaming issues usually at the start of her streams, but it kinda fixes itself after a bit
apex is kinda stupid when it comes to live2Ds for some reason, even towa is struggling with it its why she sometimes uses two pcs.
@yamigosaya apex is well known to randomly max out people's cpu which is why streaming and l2d are difficult to use while playing it. Sadly respawn dont seem to care about that issue though

They did a thing this season where they aren't using your rank to determine the lobbies, they have a hidden MMR system. The reason they gave is that they don't want anybody to think that they're "hard stuck" in a rank because apparently that feels bad. What they fail to realize is that if you are hard stuck in a rank, you are probably at the rank you belong at and the system is working. Now anybody who plays a lot WILL hit master. Play poorly enough for long enough and your MMR will go down until you dominate matches again, while the LP cost for lobbies is very forgiving.

This makes the whole solo master run becoming more meaningful if she manages to do it.
This season especially, you get matched based on your actual MMR and get more points for killing above/ in general if it believes you're below where you should be, for more engaging matches in general
that is because of the hidden MMR that Aqua has. She has a very high hidden MMR, thats why she always gets matched in a Master-Pred Lobbies. thats how the matchmaking works for this season.

It's not really randomly intermingle. They just dont use Rank to matchmaking anymore, but use hidden MMR which is based on player skill level.
Aqua, Botan and Ollie together
Aqua's style is different than Botan's which is cool to see.
Aqua's level of perception is widespread in changes of color or any brightness afar that isn't her ally she always perceive it as her enemy and she shoots them.
Botan is linear, she still had perception but only a closer distance yet her linear view allows her to shoot a bit more accurately than Aqua does as if it is natural to her to do. She does not make up for any changes but she's fast enough to react when the enemy suddenly shoots at her she retaliates calmly and deadly accurately.
We see aqua's movements, she put her whole character in action like a dance and it hard for her opponents to shoot her in CQC distance.
She kept shifting her movements and shaking her target's aim to her favor.
While Botan always goes for the head, an old school yet very effective strategy. She does shift learning new styles but what didn't change is how both their aim had developed in a different playstyle.
Aqua probably developed her abilities in Apex.
While Botan is Universally yet more focused in MW or Rainbow Six's style aim sets.

Aqua and Towa along with Suisei as Startend give the Idea why she is called the 'MAD DOG'.
Aqua's style is so separate, not as well suited to group yet.
She was always Solo at that point, some team but she usually go alone.
She was not called as a 'Mad Dog' yet but she is known as 'Gamer maid' due to skills.
At the past she was always Rushing ahead, no breaks, no nothing but with guns in mind and dancing around.
This had fixed on Towa and Suisei's teamplay.
Towa's handle at the past she usually use a single fired weapon or a submachinegun, while it isn't as 'wild' as comparison to Aqua or Botan's Towa's style is 'controlled' as if she or everything around her is controlled or at least on her watch.
Seen her always peek around corners, always check and always warn her team mates, give them weapons that will suit her group or take command.
To me Towa's like a leader, not well as a strategist but she knows how to do well in field combat where chaos is just brewing, despite if she falls she gives the call to when or what will her team does.
And she always the one who give the shots on when or where Aqua's leash is released.
While Suisei is outshined, she is still learning and quickly soak the knowledge like a sponge, usually Suisei's better in a single shot weapons but she kept practicing to be a really good support/assistand of the group.
She may not the usual Mad dog but she always goes in to support the two, while learning she could do better when there's a teammate she could help.
While there are times that she's capable alone, her skills seemed to develop to support Aqua and Towa better.
While Towa was usually the main 'attacker' of the group when startend didn't form yet and randomly play with her fans, with Aqua and Suisei, she takes the 'commander' role. Or Aqua's handler.
She has a wide perception and very sensitive to presence specially when enemies leave some clues that they looted a place or spotting them afar.
And most if Aqua has that .50 cal-like sniper that is called 'Kraber' Towa points them to where or who will be the target and it is up to Aqua's skill to do so.
Startend had evolved, since their start and their loss to the competition, with their recent colabs they are slowly seen as a threat than to be idly seen as an entertainment by other competitive pros.

Also i have no idea about ranks but this is just a mere observation of mine, it isn't mostly accurate but on how i see and in comparison to other FPS player/reactions and recent habits they kept doing on scene.
Pro players are called that because they literally make money from their skill playing games and Aqua can stand toe-to-toe with them... and she's a... comedian.
It's like a pro chef getting cold sweats in a cooking competition with a housewife because of how close it was...

The ranked matchmaking of apex legends is so stupid like Aqua is Plat 2 here playing in Pred lobbies
It's not stupid, if not for the hidden MMR system, an Apex Predator level player like Aqua would be placed into a lobby of platinums, which is like putting a tiger among a flock of sheep, and also limits her ability to get better as she doesn't face highly skilled players until way end of season when she finally had the time to rank up. This MMR system is far better, as rank doesn't matter, but skill does.
@@luka188 That's not the point. The rank should be the basis for ranked. She'll get promoted to her deserved rank in time. I say this for solo queue players who are teamed up with better players like Aqua who then get queued in Pred lobbies. There should not be tigers and sheeps in the same rank at this point in S18.
@@kermit9555 This is where you are wrong. You say that Aqua gets teamed up with better players than herself, however that is completely wrong.
MMR calculates based on your skill as a player, as you win against people with high MMR, your MMR adjusts and increases, as you lose against certain people, your MMR will lower based on the MMR of the people you lost to, as well as the lobby MMR.
In this way, good players, regardless if they are smurfs or not, will get placed in accurate lobbies for their skill level. This prevents noob lobbies from being filled with high elo smurfs, and getting blasted for no reason, and ensures everyone plays within their own skill level.
The reason ranks alone fail at doing this is because gaining LP is more of a grind rather than skill based. Playtime is what determines rank more than anything.
You have the same situation in League of Legends. Many pro players are only master rank or so on their soloQ accounts, because they don't have time to grind soloQ all day long, however, they have high MMR and always end up in Challenger lobbies where they belong.
Then you also have challenger LP players who end up in low MMR lobbies with actual master or diamond rank players, because they are playing like trash as compared to their rank.
Aqua belongs in these lobbies, as her MMR has proven her capable of holding her own against these players. She ends up in the highest skill lobbies, because she is a player with high skill that belongs there.
Aqua is the tiger among sheep if you place her in any other lobby.
