Candy over Chrome paint, custom helmet spray job.

- In this video I spray gold candy over the Alsa Easy chrome.
I sprayed 2k clear over the chrome, sanded it then sprayed thegold candy and custom black blue pearl.

Very nice result, but I feel this was a wast of the chrome as it barely shows through. A well mixed gold would've netted the same result. With chrome + candy, you need larger visible areas to really let the chrome "shine" (pun intended). Just my opinion though.
How did you stop the paint around the masking peeling up when you ripped off the masking? I know usually they say to rip it off when it's still not 100% dry and set - is that what you did? How long did you wait?
HadiPlays you definitely dont want to "rip" anything off when doing fine lines or stensil work when painting. If your having a bit of drama with the paint then there is a few things you could possibly be doing wrong... you might be putting too much paint on causing your paint to be as thick as the tape/vinyl. You could also be pulling your tape/stensil off too early... remember to allow each coat of paint to flash off correctly and on your final coat give it an extra 10 mins to avoid marking the paint if you touch/bump it... i dont recommend pulling tape/stensils before they dry properly... thats how you lose those sharp neat lines.

What does the chrome have to do with that? I can't see any chrome on it. Is it like a colour that comes through under the gold or something?

Yes mate and you can clearly se the chrome layer put down over the black... then the yellow candy put over that. The finished product shows they yellow candy being very reflective like a yellow mirror. As the video is titled candy over chrome.....
Which is why I asked about it, as I didn't see that very well, hence the question to confirm what I thought I could see.... then you come along...

Hi mate. Love your vids! Can I ask, how did you get your masks for the graphics? I once used masks that a local sign shop cut out for me but the adhesive backing was way too strong. It looks like yours are peeling off really easily.
