It's the part he talks about at 9:35. Although, it should be an 8 instead of a 9 on that first chord. Either way, it's an old video and I'm sure he knows it should be an 8 by now.
Something about Jared rubs me the wrong way. I think he’s a dick. He thinks he’s the best guitarist on RUclips when he is pretty good but way to fucking cocky and so many are way better than him.
+Deathspirit232 That's pretty much it but to be exact, for a tempo of 120bpm which is what he uses for the sheet music a dotted quaver would be equal to 375 ms.
Emmett Hensley I mean I played Rain with Rocksmiths soundtuning settings because it's easy to set up right kind of sound and delay with it. I don't think there's Rain yet in Rocksmith as a song, but that would be awesome :D
The song is played at 120bpm *I used a taptempo while playing along with Rob*. If you are using an amp simulator such as PODfarm, that offers delay with your modelling, your setting should be 375ms, or a quaternote dotted. I hope this helps you guys.
@@inhkhoa374 Pretty much you could imagine it as a chord that’s been broken into parts, and instead of playing all the notes at once to make a chord, you pick each string slowly and individually, which is called
Thanks! and yes, this is my music :) Just put out a solo guitar album and a lot of the videos to go along with it are on the main channel. Have fun with the song!
I was about to comment saying "Awesome, this seems pretty simple and I can start as soon as I get another high E string", but then I realized that this song doesn't use the high E at all. Next time I pick up my guitar, I'm definitely have a stab at this. Thanks for the tutorial on this, Rob. I really appreciate the videos.
I'm not usually one to comment on videos, but this time I could not resist. I just plugged my guitar into a my bass multiFX (don't have a delay for the guitar) and added a bit of hall. I must admit, the first couple of minutes were a struggle just because I was not used to playing around the delay. But holy cannelloni! This song is insanely fun to play. Props to you! Not only have you composed a song that sounds soothing and spacious, but at the same time is challenging and makes you want to never part from your guitar. Thanks for the fun time :)
If you're wondering how to set the effect he is using.. and you have an amp that you can set on tap echo by tapping, then find the tempo you will play the song at, and tap the first beat then a sixteenth note before the next beat.. that will set the reverb/tap echo to the proper setting..
Rob - thanks for the lesson. Talented man - glad I found you on the Guitar Pro blog. Digging your stuff. You also have the most killer taste in guitars. Look forward to trying this out with my DE7. Glad to see I'm not the only one who digs Crate amps. Great amps, but mine's a hummer -- sounds like that's common.
When you explained it without the delay thats when i became clear what the picking pattern was. 5:23 - 5:28 explains the whole tutorial just about. Just use the tabs for the notes. Thanks for this. Is this your music? I found your pinch harmonics tut and seen this in your different playlist. If so i like this bro. :).
thank u for teaching me this.. without the usual "im the best fuckin guitarist in the whole world" on youtube, it took me like half an hour to learn it. u are awesome
When I first heard this song I knew I wanted it to be the first song I learn on my electric. I finally bought my first one and I'm so excited for it to come. You seem so nice and this video was easy to follow. Thank you!🫶
So, from what I've figured out, the ideal tempo is 125 bpm and the delay (according to Zach, the dude who covered Rain on his PVC marimba) should be 0.37 seconds
Hey rob, have you ever heard portrait of Tracy by Jaco Pastorious and, by extension, do you think you'd be able to do a cover of it, but with your own twist on it? Love your music, btw.
Dude thank you SO much for doing this video. You are so talented and I love this song. I am going to try to do a cover of this and send you a video response :D
What song was that at 2:30? It was really cool and it eould be nice to listen to it. On a side note, I love Rain, i've been trying my hardest to learn guitr again just to learn this song. It's so peaceful, keep up the good work!

the song is actually played pretty slowly, it's the delay that makes it sound fast, effectively you'll be playing the song at half the speed it seems like it's at
Hey Rob, can you explain those four chords at 7:28? I tried to look at the tab, but it turns out you need an account and all of that blah blah blah. It would be really cool, bro. Oh, and what guitar did you use to record it?
I'd say level on half or a bit more, feedback on relatively low, quarter up or slightly more and the delay time depending on the tempo you're playing. I assume around 300-400 ms.
Okay, I tried it on a DD-3 model on JamUp Pro and so far these settings sound pretty correct: Level: Noon Feedback: Relatively low, about a quarter way up. Delay time: 330 ms
idk why but my amp cant make that sound :( is just doesnt sound the same. like you cant barley hear the second if i play over the next note... :( does that mean i cant play this song? or am i doing something wrong with the settings? i have a cube 30x cosm roland.
I'm not an expert, but that just sounds like your amp works differently than his. If you can, it might just be worth trying to find a decent delay pedal and see if that works. I'm sure you can get it!
i played the song with a caline (or cadine?) echo delay pedal which cost me about 20€ (or 30€? man my brain is rubbish xD) so I would suggest you it because you just need this power thingy cable cost about 10€ and another 6,3mm cable for the pedal but i swear: totaly worth it!^^

I think that's it! maybe? also, I recorded it on a Fender strat. though in the video I play something different.

The tempo for the delay is about 370 ms. I've been playing Rain in rocksmith for a while now with specific tune setting. Rob, keep it coming ;)
