    Sir, if you were to ever revisit or remake this video I would add this to the difference between stereo and compound microscopes. The stereo microscope is mainly designed to enhance what the naked eye can already see and enhance the details that it cannot see and and show those details in glorious 3d imagery whereas the compound microscope goes far beyond what the naked eye can see and show those details in precise two dimensional properties that would never be achieved in any other way. As always I enjoy your videos and instruction in advanced microscopy. Your channel is a blessing to all of us.

    I really appreciate all your insight and advice and your videos. Also, you taking your time to explain all this stuff to people. I remember all the fun I had in school with microscopes and recently I wanted to get me a Microscope so I can start reliving so to speak the past. I'm finding your videos the most useful of any information out there. You are 100% right about forums and people having debates and different opinions with each other that cause a lot of confusion. Thanks again I appreciate your help and I'm planning on buying me a microscope after I watch more of your videos and educate myself properly first. Much Appreciated and I subscribed.

    I like the video camera on the trinocular microscope, but can it be used for soldering microcircuits?

    • @Microbehunter
      @Microbehunter  5 лет назад +2

      No. You need a stereo microscope. The trinocular microscope in the video is not suitable for this as it can only be used for transparent objects that can be mounted on a slide. There are special stereo microscopes around for electronics and you can also attach cameras to some of them. Those stereo microscopes that are used for electronics (etc) do not have a stage, but are suspended so that you have a free table surface to work on.

    what about shining a light over the object from the side (with a flashlight for instance) and looking at it with the compound microscope, let's say magnification 100x? I'm doing this quite often for objects that can safely fit between the stage and the objective

      You can shine from above by adapting and epi-illuminator to a compound microscope.

    ......How do these various types of scopes differ, as far as the quality of view, capability to use a digital camera/video recorder., depth of view, field of view,... etc.? I would like to be able to take closer looks at knife blades, gravers, small metal objects, (coins, jewelry, gem stones, watch gears, etc., also, artifacts from nature: (insects, feathers, stones, leaves, bark, shells, etc.)
    At the extreme magnifications, it'd be interesting to view cells (from plants, water samples, soil samples, etc.) What kind of scope might be best for using while doing engraving on precious metals (jewelry), or firearms/knives?....

    Hi Could you please tell weather, a halogen illumination is better or LED based?

    • @Microbehunter
      @Microbehunter  5 лет назад +1

      No, one can not say. A question of preference. Some doctors are used to halogen and therefore prefer this. Halogen has disadvantage of heat and that it does not keep the color temperature at different brightness settings (more blue at bright light), which might be an issue for photography. But some might say that due to the larger color spectrum of halogen the colors look more natural but I guess this is mostly a question of taste especially when amateur use. Halogen bulb is easily exchangeable and I would check that the same is the case for LED.

    sir, can you take the photograph from stereo microscope, if so how can that be done

    • @Microbehunter
      @Microbehunter  3 года назад

      Put your mobile phone camera at the correct distance from the eyepiece. It must be centered, the tilt must be correct and distance as well. Much patience needed. A mobile phone adapter can help. Or you get yourself a microscope camera that goes into the microscope instead of an eyepiece.

    So, I want to look at a disease on a fish and take pictures. I am honestly trying to diagnose the problem, and need a scope that I can look at the scales and Mayne cells of the fish. The affected area of the fish is big enough I can see it with the naked eye, but obviously not the individual cell structure (which is part of what I NEED to see to diagnose the illness). Would I have to get a stereo microscope? Or is there some sort of compound microscope that would work?
    I know it is an odd request, but I dont know how well a stereo scope would work with only one camera, and whether it would work at all.

    • @Microbehunter
      @Microbehunter  3 года назад

      You need a stereo microscope to put the whole fish on the stage. But with a stereo microscope you will not be able to see the individual cells. You might be able to detect certain irregularities in the tissue of the fish, but not pathogens (viruses, fungi, bacteria). Generally, microscopy is not enough to do an identification of pathogens.

    Hi, I want to buy a microscope. Tell me please difference in picture of monocular vs binocular. They says that bino have more "depth". So, is the monocular picture good?
    Other question: mean to buy 2000x monocular from Amazon, like Bebang 120€(or maxplater,dazzleex,hutact), what you mean, is that realy 2000x or fake? Thank you.
    You have a best channel, so useful!

    • @Microbehunter
      @Microbehunter  Год назад +1

      It is not a question of picture quality. Binocular allows you to use both eyes and gives therefore a more full view. It is not a question of depth of field, which is something different. any magnification above 1000x gives a blurry image. the EUR 120 microscope is an introductory microscope without condenser. The maximum useful magnification is 400x, everything more will be very blurry. But more magnification does not mean that you can see more. I suggest that you try it and then later you can always get a different microscope.

      Compound can magnify more. But there are certain things that can only be seen with stereo, such as non transparent objects. Depends what you want to see. More magnification is not automatically always better. In my other channel i talk about both. Www.ruclips.net/user/microbehunter-microscopy
