But it's clear she's not as happy as she was in IZ*ONE, I think there being less members & her not being the maknae anymore made her feel like she had to grow up- plus, she's becoming a huge name in kpop right now, so that's probably not helping either.
To be honest if starship is lying anout their ive’s ages i’m concerned for leeseo. because if they changed her birth year (for example from 2004 to 2007) just to make her appear younger than thats really messed up because she went through so much unnecessary hate because of her age.. Guys i know that leeseo is an actual middle school, this is just a prediction and i’m pretty sure starship doesn’t fake ages anymore!
Pretty disturbing that the company who manages them treats them like dolls and play things. Hopefully 10-15 years from now they'll be okay, the amount of stress, anxiety etc, they're experiencing at a young age will definitely take a on toll on them in their later adult years. Take for examples the Disney child stars, some of them managed to escape from Disney, some of them went cuckoo from the stress, trauma abuse etc. they experience from their past work. Wishing them the best, they're talented and overall a great group.

Idols swearing, looking like a mess, being angry, dating in public etc should all be NORMALIZED. They’re literally _human_ so idk why knetz and companies expect them to be robots, it’s actually insane. We all have a different view of what ‘perfect’ is to us, so idk why companies try so damn hard to push that kind of image for their groups.
Swearing is normal I think.. at least in the boy groups... they just censor it or stop themselves and idols themselves say that I was about to swear and all and it's just funny. And normalising it doesn't mean allowing them to swear in public. Like us ordinary people are also taught not to swear in front of people because it's rude. We can cuss among friends as much as we want and I believe the idols do it too... so the not swearing part isn't really weird or bad. In my opinion that is..
it’s not just knetz. not you singling out knetz as if ifans aren’t the worst hypocrites ever known to man. most of the wonyoung hate came from international kpop stans who are jealous of her and feel threatened by her, especially when she gets too close to their oppars.

I totally agree with that suga/hobi comparison!! Yoongi was very portrayed like a savage and too introverted person but it's very easy to see that he's very outgoing and nice. And for hobi the same, he is potrayed like a very energetic person that is always happy but in fact I see J-Hope as an introverted and calm guy.
Imagine being 17 and getting this much hate! That's what it's like for Wonyoung. Literally everything she does is criticized. She seems exhausted and the spark and light she used to have is gone. Also, if (and it's a big if) she is Taiwanese, so what? Tzuyu, Shuhua, and YangYang are all Taiwanese and have really successful careers.
There’s a rumour she’s Taiwanese? Although now that you mention it I haven’t seen the surname Jang in Korea too often (and Korea doesn’t have a ton of surnames).
Idols shouldn't have to be perfect. The should be allowed to be themselves without getting any hate. Poor Wonyoung has to suffer from hate every single day even if she's just breathing. None of these requirements seem severe aside from them possibly lieing. Tiktok classes and selfie classes actually make total sense to me if I were in the spotlight, and pretty practical for anyone that's actually held down a job. The funny thing about the TikTok one is that personally, and also overall, kpop idol tiktoks that aren’t super professional tend to go more viral than those that are set up. Like keeho, felix and some of yeonjun’s.
I just wish to see the real personalities of idols. As fans, we should love them for their real self and as people they should be able to be themselves.
I thought it's confirmed Wonyoung has some type of Chinese ancestry?? I remember reading something like that on her wikipedia page (had no idea she could be Taiwanese though) and that either her father or grandad own a Chinese restaurant in SK? Look, I've been following all members ever since Produce 48, during IZONE and definitely afterwards. I have absolutely no hate towards any of them, not even when Minju decided to forgo being an idol in favor of being an actress or even Hyewon who, by the way, seems to be absolutely living her best life mainly being a RUclipsr. I do admit that I've kinda been ignoring the criticism raised towards. The genuine ones, not the hate which is just so.... ugh. I'm kinda rambling here. Even if Wonyoung is faking or is told to fake some aspects of her, I suggest everyone who wants to hate to go through the literal years of content, comments from people who worked with her or even, God forbid, spend a bit of time actually watching her and her content and tell me, what she has EVER done that warrants this treatment. Direct your (not you you and this video) criticism towards the company, not the girls. They have done nothing wrong and are indeed the victims. The latest episode of Wonyojng having to go to Music Bank and then literally having to get on a plane to Germany the next day is a prime example. Edit: it's worse. She goes directly from Music Bank to the airport, otherwise there's no possible way that she'd make it.

@hello It's the fact fans are using the term pick me and DON'T EVEN KNOW THE MEANING. Nothing Wonyoung has done or anything others have claimed is pick me behavior. I wish kpop fans just stayed off Black Twitter and stop misusing terms.
It's reasonable to take selfie or tiktok lessons to improve i mean i sometimes have to take 50 photos to get the right photo .idols don't have time for this they should know how to take best pose as quick as possible.
People are psychotic that they are accusing Wonyoung about faking her personality when she has been in the public eye from PD48 to IVE for over 4 years....there is no way a 13 year old could have maintained that. Wonyoung's rumors started from people confusing her Korean passport for Taiwan and it is driving me crazy they keep talking about it. Wonyoung has kept silent about her family her entire career which is wise. Also your video is unnecessarily negative towards her by specifically quoting a hater talking about her.
I suspect that Starship is trying to make IVE the next big girlgroup. They have 2 comebacks and the group is still only a few months old. Wonyoung even said that they will have a summer comeback. They're being overworked like Twice is, and they're also following strict rules, like Blackpink.

Their company really just needs to be supported of these girls and their budding careers in the K-pop music industry
Sad how they have to take behavioral issues before debut and yet Wonyoung still gets accused of having an attitude for simply breathing. Being a female idol is so tough they even have to accept “evaluations” aka criticism over something as minuscule as selfies. The pressure and expectations they face makes me so sad to think about.
tbh I can see that Kpop as an industry realized that people does not see these celebs & idols as humans, but as icons. I believed part of the reason Kpop become so popular & mainstream is because of idols' perfect image, something that Hollywood seemed to be lacking recently. even tho it sounded extreme, I understand all the classes to create the "perfect" idol & icon. HOWEVER, the problem with Kpop is that for whatever reason they LOVE debuting young kids. like literal kids. in the long run, these unnecessary pressure to look & act perfect 24 hour will surely affect these teenagers who are still developing their self esteem and worldview. I pray all these people have strong support system behind them. it's heartbreaking to see people losing their battle with mental issues

The selfie, manners and tiktok class doesn't sound that crazy to me. I think I'd appreciate it if I were an idol. As for the manufactured characters, no one can really tell for sure anyway, so I don't worry.
Ok this makes me think that Sometimes idols don't show their true personality and can also be fake im not attacking ive , I respect idols like Jessi , all mamamoo members,hyuna,etc.. for showing their true selves and not caring haters.
Tzuyu is a known fully Taiwanese idol and she’s arguably one of the most famous members of Twice and that was even after her flag scandal. So I just don’t understand why they would want to lie about Wonyoung’s nationality even with the issues between SoKor and China.
@UC9HidtuUbUjA2OybtM6yhSg but this is saying Wonyoung is half Korean and half Taiwanese so even though that is the case, it still makes no sense for Starship to lie about her nationality
There is a big minus of this rules.. too strict means the idols charms are going to be flat........... Just look at chaewon and sakura of lesserafim (I mention them because they are former of izon like wonyoung) they still a true comedian.... Starship.. you are just too freakin strict
What i find alarming is someone getting EXPOSED as their own nationality!! No one in this world should ever feel 'exposed' when it comes to their Nationality. I just feel so sad hearing about this toxicity among the South East Asian community.
Seriously this is ridiculous after knowing what some other idols had to endure to debut. Especially Seventeen if you think this is bad I suggest watching Seventeen Project to see what they had to go through to debut.
P1Harmony had to take 5 selfies a day for FNC Ent. I also thought it was interesting that idols had selfie classes. It makes sense since idols are expected not to ever make mistakes.
They have manners class but they don’t have a class on things that are usually problematic among kpop star like cultural appropriation and racism! That don’t make sense to me
Yep I knew a lot of strict rules in kpop industry and but seventeen doesn't have that really strict rules (of course they have but they don't really strict to certain level comparing to ive) that makes them a natural comdedian I think swear its okey on the right times
If the companies gonna apply this strict rule to the upcoming 5th generation also, I really gonna leave k-pop or to wish to destroy this k-pop industry cause I don't wanna stan any robot or a puppet it's scares me. After going through this much and one day they take thier lives wow a big sin for me because I support k-pop.
I would suggest you take some rest from this kind of videos about korean entertainment training system or leave kpop right now if the stated above is your reason, because this is what ALL groups has been through, not one single group are excepted, from over 14 years ago until now
Something I really hate about the ‘it girl’ conundrum is that it manifests into an unhealthy lifestyle that is otherwise Inhuman. To keep up her status, Wooyoung is both made and feels like she has to eat cutely, look perfect all the time (posing, facial expressions, clothing) and sometimes she can’t even be herself because she’ll get hated for it. Don’t get me wrong, she’s goregous, but she’s also human, and the ‘it girl’ ideal is just another weird way to pit women against each other and force weird patriarchal standards on someone in the spotlight, In hopes other girls will follow. (It also just creates more issues for young girls) Wonyoung is a teenage girl with feelings and problems, when will it be okay for her to just be a girl, and not have IT before it.
This gives me a lot of Twice vibes .. the girls had such a jam packed schedule and made soo many mvs… the members of IVE only debuted in Dec 2021 and already made 2 mvs and 2 recorded songs.. it doesn’t sound like a lot but it is cause they have tot do soo much for one mv and poor Wonyoung she gets soo much controversy with her attitude and how Starship treats her better then the rest (Ik Yujin is treated a bit like Wonyoung but idk if got lots of controversy ofc she must have but idk) but she ofc doesn’t want to be treated better , these girls are only teens not even 20 and I’m wondering how Leeseo manages her schedule especially since she has school and still goes especially being in 9th or 10th grade it’s hard for her , I think a lot of idols dropped out but I feel bad for Leeseo she’s only 14 and should be living her life and so does the others of the group
i love wonyoung. i think she's naturally cute but if she is "pretending" i still don't see a problem with that; everyone who judges her would probably exaggerate their own personalities if they were idols, that's just how it works, it catches people's attention (and that's very needed in the kpop industry).

Is it weird that I’m not surprised agencies give selfie/photo classes? Cravity, almost certainly. Probably the others too - since cell phones with decent cameras have been around for a while. My ults debuted from a little, unknown company, and they had instruction in selfies (including homework to take x number of selfies a day). Honestly taking selfie , tiktok and behavioral classes are actually good and helpful but going as far as faking their personalities and age is just too much. I dont think so. If you follow their interview's wonyoung once joked that she ran out of company when they told her she would be debuting with a 07 liner. And honestly, the girls didnt look that close during eleven era. Its in love dive era that they looked so much comfortable. But considering the fact that the group was partially built around wonyoung and yujin, mabey they had a say.
@@kadyll1396 Yeah, I remember Wonyoung explaining to Lee YoungJi about the time she heard she was debuting with a 14 year old. But I gotta disagree with you when you said they didn't look all that close. They do look closer now but imo, with the 5 months they were together, I think they warmed up to each other but this is just my perspective on it. I, however, do not think that Wonyoung and/or Yujin had a say in picking who debuted with them because the said trainee had to be qualified enough to debut.
The craziest rules Starship has EVER made in my opinion was the selfie and TikTok rules. Not every photo or video has to be HD. Videos can have lesser quality than they usually have. You also don't need to use filters to make your photos more eye-catching. I actually use filters not only because I love using filters, but I'm insecure about my face. Starship, teach your artists some self-love
I may suggest you watch the video, if you’re interested in them or even about this “starship rules”, it’s on mmtg ive episode, the intonation used in this video is very misleading, it’s a class to take, not a rule. And as you mentioned not every photo and video has to be HD, and yes ive members often upload extremely blurry photos and even questionable way of use tiktok filters, they’re not like a produced robot like this video are trying to tell you
I'm pretty sure Gfriend talked years ago about how they got facial expression lessons (I don't remember much), so I don't think selfie lessons are that crazy because social media and photocards
um actually selfie classes are a good thing. if an idol posted a “bad” selfie then they would be attacked. and anyway, who wouldn’t want to take the prettiest pictures of themselves as quick as possible? i know i do
Though it's normal it's not selfie lessons. But more like modeling . Ya know when you see idols look like they didn't put effort well that's the point to look perfect so it can be marketed of course they were trained. Don't think it's a kids game. It's serious you need to be a all rounder on it
In 2:04 it said “ I doubt any company would ever debut traines who don’t behave properly” well they thought wrong cause Yujins and Wonyoungs old company hype debut Kim GARAM

They are nowadays, and it makes me happy

Hmmmm I wonder if Wonyoung and Yujin had a hand in picking group members
I remember Jojo talking about how when she was on the Disney channel that she had to have a lot of classes similar to this
The craziest rules Starship has EVER made in my opinion was the selfie and TikTok rules.
Wtf, I can see Dancing, Singing, Rapping, Learning other languages, BUT SELFIE TRAINING??? really??? That's crazy
um actually selfie classes are a good thing. if an idol posted a “bad” selfie then they would be attacked. and anyway, who wouldn’t want to take the prettiest pictures of themselves as quick as possible? i know i do
@@hnyuq4049 ohhh I see what your saying
Selfie classes? WTF
Wonyoung's father is Korean but moved to Taiwan but his mother is half taiwanese half Korean.
"though i doubt any companys would ever debut trainees who dont behave properly"
*cough* *cough* garam....
Taking selfie classes!??!!??!?! Bro what the fck?!?!
Is starship ok?
It's unatural this things that the enterteinment do to their idols! And good video!
